It was our 32nd wedding anniversary this week and I craved sushi rolls. A my friend Tish told me about Beauregard's restaurant at the Buccaneer resort and that their rolls were amazing. We let the guard at the resort gate know that we were going to Beauregard's and he waved us through with a smile. We followed the signs and came upon one of the most beautiful locations for a restaurant we have ever seen. It's right on a pristine beach with all outdoor or bar seating. We sit at the bar because we love to get to know people and bar people are usually gregarious. To be a good bartender you must enjoy people and craft great drinks, Julene is a great bartender! We ordered the California roll and a spicy tuna roll-WOW! Both were delicious and absolutely what I had been craving! We were lucky enough to meet the Chef and I asked for her name. I put it in my notes and spellcheck redid it (frustrating!). I know the first part is Angel which is pretty perfect as her rolls are heavenly. I apologize for not having her name correctly. The drinks are $18-$20 each and the rolls are $20+,well worth the price!

Beauregard's - "Beauregard Bay". A tweak on the Gimlet. The added Grapefruit juice & Aeperol really mellows down the tartness. A must try for Gin lovers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first ( but definitely not our last ) dinner at 1756 Grotto!…read more The food was amazing with Chef Stephen's take on tasty yet sophisticated cuisine using locally sourced ingredients! We started with the grotto salad and conch two ways ! Wow we were off to a great start and the portions were perfect to share. We then literally dived into the seafood grotto. A large bowl filled with local seafood and an amazing broth to complement the variety of fish . We could not stop there as we went for the plantain foster and what a way to end a special and delicious meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly and totally on point taking great care of us! We had a chance to chat with Chef as he came out to ensure everything was up to our expectations. So nice to meet the wizard behind the menu and the kitchen. We will surely make a point of returning in the very near future. Highly recommend!

There is a beautiful outdoor dining courtyard option. Inside is open concept where you can see the chefs preparing the food! Our severe was phenomenal and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Speedy and attentive and just so friendly. For appetizers we had the Octopus, the baked Brie, and the Conch Ceviche with fritters. Truly each of these dishes had something special about them and were all FANTASTIC! Presentation, texture, flavor all amazing. I still think about the Brie five days later writing this review. I wish I took more photos! For entree I had the steak. It was a New York Strip with house made chimichurri, and a sweet potato mash. Wow it was the best steak I've had in a long time. All the flavors on the plate complimented each other so beautifully. Again, I wish I took more pictures!! Dessert was a delight all on its own. The Crème Brûlée was smooooooth as can be. Not a single lump or bump. The plantain foster really did steal the spotlight on the dessert. It was warm and gooey and flavorful and perfect! There was some foster sauce left over that we ended up mixing with some crème brûlée and it was heaven. One of the intriguing aspects of this place was the chef was on the TV show 'Beat Bobby Flay'... iykyk. I definitely can see how he beat him. If you're on STX it's a must that you dine at 1756 Grotto! I will 100% be returning. More pictures next time ;)
