Although it's listed as a pub, it feels more like an intimate, cozy bar--perfect for a laid-back night out or a quiet drink with friends. I feel like I may be better served getting my drinks or food at a handful of other locations downtown. The only reason I'd really pick this place is if I want a very basic cocktail mixer real strong. But if I did that, I'd order two drinks at a time, seeing as I sometimes had to wait 15-20min between ordering my drink and actually getting it. And hey, I don't blame the staff. You book live music and put just 1 runner and bartender on for the night, then service is going to drop. This is a management issue. That said, I also wouldn't order any custom cocktails like the cruzan confusion. They are quite simply not good. And, since they seem to never have draft beer, you're left with dropping $4 on a bottle. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, and there really wasn't anything wrong with it. Nothing too special either. Pretty basic bar food, really, which is totally fine. Not every meal needs to be a culinary masterpiece. But if the food is basic, the drinks are poor, and the service is strained, then why come here at all? So... Unless No Problemo is playing, you can bet I won't be going out of my way to visit. read more

We finally decided to try Common Cents since the last time we ate here it was Tavern 1844. Got in the door right at 5pm. Ordered two beers, chips and salsa and tuna poke for apps. Tuna was great and served with fried wonton chips. Very tender perfectly spiced tuna. Chips were tri colored chips served warm with fresh salsa. For dinner, GF did the Ceasar salad with blackened chicken I did the Nashville hot chicken with fresh cut fries. Ceasar salad was great, the blackened chicken was spiced good but very dry. The Nashville chicken was good, very spicy. Two big strips on a piece of grilled Texas toast, fries were not very hot otherwise it wasn't too bad of a meal. Great local spot in St. Croix. Food was really really good and their portion sizes are really nice as well. Got some Fried pickles as an appetizer, a Buffalo chicken wrap as my entree, and deep fried Oreos as dessert. Everything was amazing, I highly recommend. read more

Awesome local pub in St Croix. This is a foodie haven. If you are a Nashville relative you will enjoy the mixed menu that has many favorites. I loved the fried green beans, and cauliflower. Amazing! The Nashville hot chicken so so delicious! I also had the buffalo quesadillas. There is a peanut butter burger that you MUST try! To top it all off they have fresh cut French fries. They really know how to prepare food. If you are going there for cocktails try the fresh watermelon mojito. So fresh and strong. Not to mention live music. Come and enjoy. read more

We had an very unpleasant experience at this establishment. We made a reservation on Tuesday for Thursday trivia. Wearing our mask, we proceed to the door. The host outside told us they were full. We said we had a reservation, without taking our name the host went in to find the person that took our reservation. Another employee came out and aggressively said I talked to you yesterday and told you I would try to fit you in next week. (Checked our phone... we called on Tuesday). Then the employee said you aren't going to find a place to eat down here or have a drink, it is the same everywhere. We walked across the street had a lovely meal and drink. Common Cents did not show us hospitality or the island spirit. It is unfortunate how unwelcome we felt. read more

Long story short, we weren't welcome. Had a reservation booked two days in advance, when we arrived we were told they didn't have a reservation for us and they were booked. Bartender came out and told us that when we called yesterday (Wednesday) that they didn't have any reservations and she could accommodate us the following week. Problem is we had called on Tuesday. They never asked for a reservation name and the bartender proceeded to tell us that we wouldn't be able to get service on the island because 'things are getting pretty intense around here.' We went across the street to Luncheria and ate what is arguably the best Tex/Mex on the island...and weren't treated like pariahs. read more

We needed dinner after a evening kayak tour, very few places are open late. Common Cents had a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised on how high of quality the food was. I had the double fried chicken, it was fabulous. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and we were able to watch the nba playoff game. Went to order and was told all the fish was gone. literally all the people at our table wanted fish. We decided to stay and order something else. We ended up waiting over an hour and a half for our food. The waitress kept coming by our table and telling us it's coming right out. After an hour she then told us they only have one chef. We asked for more water and she forgot. When the food came out it was burnt. We told the waitress and she said what do you want ? We asked if we could get another one made and she said the cook was done and won't make any more, mind you, we ordered at 7:00 and at this point it was 8:30. When we asked for the order of fries we had ordered and didn't get she said the cook is "over it" and not making any more. We were very nice and patient the through the whole experience. To her credit she did take the fries off our check because we didn't receive them. She also comped the burnt chicken sandwich. We did however split the burt wrap between us , which wasn't comped, because that all there was. Very disappointing read more

Our rental agent is super sweet. She recommended this "locals" spot for Thursday trivia night, and we were super excited. Someone in our party called and made a reservation (we heard it happen). When we arrived, the owner was outside, looked at us like we had two heads and said, "You have to have a reservation. We're booked to like 2 weeks out." We replied that we had made a reservation, and she said, "OK let me go check." she went inside and sent out a different employee, who wasn't who we spoke to by phone, and had her tell us that she had confused the weeks of our reservation. Then she told us we wouldn't be able to eat anywhere because of covid. We walked across the street and had an excellent experience at the Luncharia. After our dinner, we passed back by and there were maybe 3 people in their "fully booked" establishment. It's fine. We're not your target demographic, apparently. But at least have the strength of character to say, "I'm sorry. We're a bar for locals only, especially with covid. There's a great place [wherever]." Worse, making one of your employees lie for you... is pretty lame. If you're considering this place for their apparently great trivia night, just go across the street. I have visited Saint Croix in the US Virgin Islands many times and I am always looking for a cool place to hang, eat, and get drinks. Well let's just say this owner of this place thought out all the details. The interior was completely renovated with this really cool bar top that has pennies in it under a shiny clear coat. This bar top look really cool and then I found out the pennies are from local friends and each has a story behind it! LIKE I SAID THE DETAILS! The bar offers trivia, video games, a pac man machine, video golf, and more for entertainment. As far as the drinks go they have everything from creative cocktails to exotic beers. The bar staff are definitely all mixologists to say the least. Last but not least the food here is great. I have both eaten in and done take out. While I expected the take out to be less quality than the dine in per usual of restaurants but I was presently suprised and satisfied when I found the same great, hot food! I can not say enough good about this place while in STX make sure to stop in and tell them I said hello!! read more

Best service you'll find in Christiansted for sure. Staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. The food ranges from standard pubgrub to some unique specials like a bacon clam chowder (if I recall correctly) and all are prepared phenomenally read more

Terrible service. Rude workers. Took forever to get my drinks and was still charged for drinks i never received. The covid rules are also extremely biased- the workers would only yell at specific people to keep their masks on and wouldn't yell at others. Wouldn't recommend but it's a shame because the food is very good. read more

By far my favorite hang out place on St Croix. Entire staff ensures great service which can be difficult to find on island. Food here is fantastic- appetizers are great, specials are great. Beer is cold and bartenders take great care of you. If your looking for a fun place to hang out in Christiansted you should try it out. Air conditioned bar but also has a patio out back to enjoy music or game nights. read more

Found this spot while down in St Croix for work. Let me just say the food was amazing, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was fantastic!! American style food with a touch of island feel!
