Sadly my experience was very poor. The 3 women at the er desk never got off their chairs for the entire 1 1/2 I waited for a 5 min procedure. When I asked a question regarding status and how much longer it may be, the response each time was " I don't know" I will remove the stitches myself. Absolutely no sense of urgency in this ER. Not 1 person in the waiting room got called to recieve service. The desk help should be ashamed and embarrassed. I never got to see a tech or doctor and ended up leaving. read more

My doctor put an order in for a chest MRI due to me tearing my pectoral tendon. THEY DAY OF the appointment, they call me to cancel it stating I need a "cervical scan" first. I asked them why and all I got was it's their protocol. Instead of doing this prior to me making the appointment, they decide to call me the day of when I had already taken time off work for it. We had come in Here for a non emergency issue. And was told it was a going be a wait, didnt know we were going to be waiting 5+ hours just to run a couple tests. Been waiting for an hour and still nothing, worst experience of my life. This is ridiculous that we have to wait that long in an emergency room. I dont care if your under staffed or not. Worst hospital! I went in to get an X-ray of the hardware in my lower lumbar. I was concerned that I had damaged the hardware from injuring myself. I asked if they had a machine that will show the hardware as a simple X-ray machine will not. She asked if I had an order I said yes but need to go through the ER as I injured my back badly. Blonde doctor(white lab coat) told me they'd give me meds through the ER and proceeded to take me upstairs to register. It took an hour to fill out the paperwork and then we went back downstairs. I was in a great deal of pain and could hardly sit up. We went back down to imaging and I asked the lady when I could get the pain meds. She said I'd have to go through the ER. I said what in the heck are we doing here?! They were treating it as an appointment. Take X-rays, leave. Also, I was told it would take 2 weeks to get the results back. WTF?! So, if I did damage my hardware and it's loose, how much damage can that do to my internal organs in 2 weeks while we wait for the results? Doesn't sound real safe! I leave the imaging desk walk to the ER desk and I'm crying by this point. Half frustration, half mind bending pain. I ask the lady why they'd do this to me when I'm in so much pain? She yells at me, " I didn't do anything ". Zero empathy or compassion for the patient. Hard to believe this is a "faith" based hospital after the way I was treated. I waited an additional 20 minutes and then left. No one was in the waiting room. The hospital was dead, no people whatsoever. There was no urgency to fix their mistake or treat me even though I came in pain over an hour prior. Don't bother going here, they don't care about patients and treat you like garbage! Go to Bonney Lake, Puyallup, or Tacoma. Edit to answer hospital response. *** you failed! Period! And since I was never actually seen you don't have any medical records for me! I've unfortunately had to go to the ER twice in the last year, both times came to St. Elizabeth's, and I can say I'm so impressed with how quick they got me back. I presented to the ER with significant lower left abdominal pain. I have a long history of diverticulitis and was certain this was what I was experiencing. I am a retired RN of 30 years. The staff was quick to get me to a room but that's where the good experience ended. The male nurse came into the room to ask me to change into a gown. I was expecting him to leave the room since my husband was there to assist. Instead, he started taking off my shirt without ever asking for consent. I was stunned and pulled away and he proceeded to hold the hospital gown and I quickly finished taking off my shirt and slipped my arms into the gown so not to be exposed as he was standing inches from my body. He did not introduce himself or confirm my identity. He did however quickly start an I.V. and draw labs. I saw the doc pretty quickly after that encounter and was ordered the usual work up for abdominal pain (labs, CT, pain meds). The doc performed an exam that consisted of a 1/2 second palpation of my lower left abdomen. Soon after I was given an IV narcotic for the pain and within 45 minutes taken for my CT scan by the tech who complained the entire way about how busy they were. Entering the CT room I was asked to transfer to the CT scanner. No assistance was offered and I was quite loopy from the narcotic. As I stepped down from the stretcher I slipped but caught myself and landed sideways on the scanner. The tech just stood watching. The scan was completed and the tech told me to go back to the stretcher. I asked for assistance but he walked out of the room. I was struggling to get into a sitting position (my right torso muscles are paralyzed due to a thoracotomy) and called for help. The tech was standing at the door and I asked once again and his words shocked me. He said "you're a big person and I'm not hurting my back". At this point I had been struggling for awhile and at no point had he offered at least to get help. I continued to try to get into a sitting position, falling on my side multiple times when I heard him call for assistance but I was able to get up before assistance answered his call. At this point I was in excruciating pain and he transported me back to the ER room, all the while complaining again about how busy he was and more ambulances were coming in. My nurse came in and asked how I was and I immediately broke down crying and was explaining what had just happened and he turned and left the room. I did not see him for another 35 minutes. He administered another dose of IV narcotics and asked if the doc had talked to me about my scan results. I said no, and he proceeded to tell me the results (acute diverticulitis) and at least I didn't have a perforation. Since when did nurses deliver diagnoses before the physician? The doc later came in and asked if I wanted to be admitted or discharged , that either was acceptable to him. After my experience, I chose discharge with oral antibiotics and to follow up with my physician. What a horrendous experience. I must add that no consent, explanation of patient rights and responsibilities, HIPPA laws were given by anyone until after the second dose of narcotics and even then it was all verbal with no copies provided. read more

Went in for acute pancreatitis (3rd time this year) and possible gallstones. They put in an IV and were supposed to give me a fluid bag shortly after, but never came back after an hour and a half. All I needed was an ultrasound to confirm gallstones or if I could just go back home and rest it off. I didn't need an IV line set until they confirmed gallstones. I didn't need a fluids bag until surgical need for one. They could have drawn blood from the other arm if they needed to set an IV line later. Ended up taking my own IV line out and bandaging it, since no one was around and I walked out. Never going back to Enumclaw hospital again! All they managed to do was set an IV, take some blood and a urine sample and never come back. read more

Horrible! Would not recommend taking your beloved pet her let alone a human! Went here for a brain MRI & Bone Dex was treated horrible!!!! Deathly scared of MRI, took meds, told them, they did not even offer a wheelchair...as I walk with a cane, plus meds for test. , Bone Dex they didn't have orders? but I had an appt? A month later, went back for my Bone Dex, except, their CSR entered my insurance info wrong, had Medicare as primary and BCBS as 2nd, which I am avid to tell everyone Primary secondary. Instead of correcting the situation I was there arguing for 1.5 hours. 2nd time my hubby took for time off. Spoke with 2 people upper mgmt, hospital does not seem to care about their patients period. 1.2 Yet another test is ordered....and they claim its NOT a valid order? 3rd strike, DONE. I would seriously be scared to have surgery or anything emergency related done to me at this place! read more

Cornerstone Café has the absolute best chefs in all of Enumclaw. The food is incredible and the pricing is awesome. Yes, at a hospital no less. I don't know how they do it. Also the Mother/Baby unit is incredibly nice and due to recent renovations, lots of state of the art equipment. We've had two kids here and the nurses and doctors are the nicest, most caring people ever. It's definitely a small town hospital. read more

the hospital staff was great until .My wife got a room upstairs. then the place became a prison . they searched her belongings like she was being arrested. They went through her purse,without her permission when I asked what they were doing they told me they were searching for drugs or weapons.They found a bottle of tylenol and a blister pack of zantac handed them to me and said i had to take them out of the hospital or throw them away. I took her for a walk around the hospital , after asking the doctor if it was ok since she had been in a hospital bed in the emergency room all day. He said it was a great idea and he approved. first they sent security out to find us then yelled at her for leaving her room and told her if she wanted to walk around she couldn't leave the floor.when I came back the next day my wife was crying and wanted to leave as soon as we could . She said in all of the hospital visits ands surgerys she'd ever had this was the worst.The nurses were also giving her medication and checking her mouth like she wasn't taking her meds. I came here at 5:00 a.m. with excruciating pain in my foot. I saw a Doctor Himelic, who treated me as though I were brain dead! He did not listen to me, talked to me in a very condescending tone, and was very rude. I told him what I may think is wrong with my foot. My husband had had something similar. He replied to me that it wasn't contagious. I knew this! He assumed that I am uneducated. Well I am not! I may not be a doctor, but I am intelligent. At one point, my phone rang. I was lying on the gurney bed, and couldn't get up, to get my purse. I was in too much pain! I rang for the nurse to come help me. He answers, "yes". So I asked for help. He comes to the room and I asked him for my purse. I told him I needed a nurse. He responds, " They're busy"! He said that I could have gotten my purse myself! Then, regarding my medicine. I told him my husband had been put on a certain kind of medicine. He rudely stated that it was nothing more than Ibuprofen. I told him "no". He said that my insurance wouldn't cover the other. I told him that I would pay "out of pocket", I was so anxious to stop the pain. He said it would be $200. I said that I didn't care! So, in the end, I left feeling terrible. He prescribed me medicine for a condition that he didn't even know I had! He didn't do a blood test to check! The guy whom I saw to check out, and sign papers, before leaving said something. I immediately started to cry! I was that stressed out by the mean doctor! I called my friend, on the way back home, and cried again. I even told the pharmacist about my terrible experience. He said that he was sorry. It is bad enough to be in pain, and feel sick! To leave your house at a very early time, to go to the emergency room is bad enough! To be treated by an angry, horrible doctor as though you are "nothing" is extremely WRONG! Bedside manner is so needed when a patient is feeling miserable, in pain and vulnerable. read more

I had sugery and a 2 night stay at St. Elizabeth. I was nervous because we were only allowed to have one visitor a day with Covid, but every department, nurse and staff I encountered was fantastic and I was comfortable going through the process mostly by myself. The facilities were very nice, very clean, they sanitized constantly and I could tell I was in competent hands through the whole process. The nursing staff throughout my recovery were very attentive and their processes gave me confidence that everything was taken care of properly. read more

I was admitted to St. Elizabeth from the ER for abdominal pain, an 8 day stay, including a major surgery, courtesy of Dr. Atkinson. Dr. Atkinson is amazing, empathetic, incredibly warm manner. The nurses and staff made me as comfortable as possible at all times and I rested and recuperated with mind at ease knowing they would be there for me. Having just moved to Enumclaw a month earlier, I feel so secure knowing my hometown hospital is clean, efficient, and staffed with top-notch people. read more

My mother was very ill and we recently spent al lot of time in the ER and she was briefly admitted to Enumlcaw St. Francis. She ended up in ICU Tacoma. 5 stars to Dr Boutani in ER. He is compassionate, very bright, and he does not leave a stone unturned. I was not as impressed with his associate and I forgot her name. She was not as compassionate but was cordial. She definitely was not as detailed...not an "outside the box" thinker. She did not seem to be as understanding as Dr. Boutani. She did not look at the family as a whole who are suffering and worried about their loved one and who are an interictal part of the over all success of the patient. Dr. Boutini sees the whole picture and makes a better final judgement . I would not choose her again as a doctor even though she is a decent person. 5 Stars plus for Dr. Camp. He and his team saved my mother's life. He did not leave a stone unturned. He and the support staff team amazed me with their skill and decisiveness. They did not have all the equipment available to them for our situation since they are a small hospital and had no time to transfer my mother. She was critical. Dr. Camp got on the phone, computer and studied real quick and found solutions with record speed. He quickly organized a team for Mom and welcomed me as a part of that team. Even in an emergency situation, they were calm and took time to explain to me (her MPOA) every step and scenario. I drew from their confidence and strength and they made me feel calm. I had a life and death decision to make for my mom and they walked me through it without unduly influencing me. I can't say enough about this group of people. ...hearts of pure gold! My 87 year old mom is now alive and doing quite well. Just a side note: I have a chronic illness/disability . I have seen many health professionals over the years which gives me an advantage in evaluating doctors and staff. read more

We love St. Elizabeth. Since moving to Washington this has been where our babies have been born. The staff is amazing, helpful, friendly and supportive like we haven't seem elsewhere. The facilities and amenities are gorgeous, spacious (by hospital standards) and clean. The hospital isn't humongous but is sufficient for the needs of the community and because of where we live and the options around us, St. Elizabeth is worth the drive. We have been so impressed by the nurses and staff. We are happy many of our doctors have access to this edifice. Comparing apples to apples (literally) the food service found here is delicious. While other hospitals have lost flavour and even some culinary tradition by changing to a "healthy only" menu. Saving money for flavor is OK I guess, unless you're me...St. Elizabeth has been able to maintain the balance between delicious food service and affordability (for them). It's my experience and opinion, St. Elizabeth is one of the gems of the area. read more

My first experience with Enumclaw Hospital (CHI Franciscan) has been stressful and anxiety ridden. I entered the facility for a suspected UTI. I was there for less than an hour. The doctor on call came in and asked me a few questions, then ordered a urine sample. He was with me less than 5 minutes. I waited in the curtained room for about 30 minutes then he came back in to tell me they found nothing and could do nothing. I left with the same issue as when I came in. The visit itself was ok, however, when I received the bill, the charges came in at $2,300 for walking into the door of the facility, $500 for the 5 minute doctor visit and another $300 for the lab. All in all, it cost me $3,100 for a quick check for a uti. Never in my life have a I paid these kind of exorbitant prices. I felt like I had been robbed. On top of it, as soon as they issued a bill, I received daily texts asking for payment when it was not due nor had I even received the bill in the mail, then when I stopped those, I received phone calls asking for payment, again when I hadn't even gotten the bill in the mail, nor was it due. I felt harrassed immediately. I will never go back to this hospital, nor use them again. That kind of financial rape passes a line at some point and they stepped over it. read more

Joint replacements are never fun, especially an ankle. Really glad my MD moved out to Enumclaw & only operates out of St. Elizabeth, or I'd have never found out about this place! The menu is accommodating for vegetarians, & since it's out near the foothills of Rainier, can we talk about the cool, green, encouraging views? Beautiful!! My only experience here is with labor and delivery, so consider this department specific. We actually drove about an hour to deliver here rather than the closer overlake or Swedish hospital. My wife's cousin had her first at Swedish and second at St Elizabeth and the difference is night and day. St Elizabeth isn't a baby factory, the nurses and doctors spend real time with you helping you understand what's going on, what's next, and your choices. The sheer amount of time spent with us was amazing - most of the time it's a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio. Most of the nurses were lactation consultant trained (and had their own babies here) so we got tons of help getting baby fed whenever we needed it. And while you might think a small town hospital would be behind the times, their care standard is very up to date, even offering things like nitrous oxide that Swedish doesn't. Beyond the care the rooms are much larger than other hospitals we've seen, allowing room for a sofa bed for dad, room to walk baby around, etc. Food was pretty good too, I wouldn't go back for the food but rather enjoyed the breakfasts and the wife loved the tuna melts. Bottom line, we couldn't ask for a better experience than we got. read more

The new St Elizabeth's just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.....For the small amount of patients they have (anytime I've been there, they have less than 10 in patients) the old hospital was just fine. I had a lot of good memories of the old hospital (for starters, my brother and I were born there). I've been here several times to visit patients (including my mother) and the main thing that I notice is how DIRTY the rooms are (and when your staff to patient ratio is 1:4 there is absolutely no excuse). My Mom has had several good nurses but overall I can't give this facility more than 2 stars - I had a horrific phone conversation with what I'm assuming was the ER Social Worker that stills makes me furious. Even though I'm Catholic I HATE Catholic Hospitals - this should still be a community hospital, you don't cram your religious beliefs onto others (especially in a hospital..........). read more

These people don't care about you, they only care about racking up the bill. They completely ignored us for hours, they wouldn't listen to what she was describing was wrong and did all these tests related to her heart that had nothing to do with what she was complaining about. we were there 6-8 hours in the ER after tests were done because they decided nothing was wrong after looking at the "numbers" from the lab so they decided to ignore us for hours instead and I had to beg someone passing us in the hall to get the person I was there with 1 cup of water because she was coughing and dehydrated sitting there for help that NEVER came. All because they decided nothing was wrong while looking us straight in the eye after listening to her cough and wheeze and moan from the horrible pain her stomach was in and watching her not be able to move well or respond well because she was so out of it; but the lab numbers! the numbers say it's all fine so she must be fine! They never treated her for her cough nor her pain they even had the audacity to tell me to just give her cough drops as if that will solve all the issues and that theres nothing they can do because shocker the test numbers show everything's normal and they have no answers and refused to look for other ways to get those answers. I don't know how people who are supposed to heal and take care of others can treat people like this but this was a horrible experience for us. read more

My husband developed sepsis after he had a surgical procedure at another hospital. The care he received at St. Elizabeth was some of the best care were have ever received at any hospital we've had to visit in past years. We recently moved to Buckley area and I was opposed to ANY Multicare facility so was looking for nearby hospital. Praise YHVH for St. Elizabeth hospital and ER services. Prior to this hospitalization he had been to ER twice, treated promptly, respectfully and with such care from EVERY SINGLE TEAM MEMBER. We were happy with the doctors extraordinary care, patience and professionalism. They also added some humor at times which helped me to relax and realize that they understood the seriousness of sepsis and they really worked fast with running various tests etc. This was simply amazing to me how much they all seemed to care. I was unable to stay in the room with my husband, yet felt very reassured that he was getting optimal care. I called each morning around 4:30 AM and the nurses that spoke with me gave me accurate information on how he did overnight, answered every single question and I was never made to feel like I was bothering anyone or asking ignorant questions. I want to shout out to all the ER staff, doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, anyone and everyone who took such great care. THANK YOU! My husband is alive and doing much better. read more

St. Elizabeth Hospital has been our family hospital for years but this last stay has changed that for good. Having a very infected gallbladder and in excruciating pain while being treated rudely and talking to me like I was a child....I know that I was sick and uncomfortable and extra sensitive but these people should be trained for these kind of situations. They dug through my purse, took my medication...they were just complete and utterly rude. I stayed 3 days and it was pure hell. My bedding wasn't changed once (and I accidentally urinated on it because of a misplaced bed pan), I pushed the call button more than a few times with no one ever coming or someone would answer but not show up, my family was visiting and was helping me to the restroom and got yelled at because I guess I wasn't supposed to get out of bed but I was never told that, they couldn't stay on top of my pain management (which is a difficult situation but being in a hospital should have been figured out especially when they could have spoke with my primary doctor at any given time) there was a few very nice and understanding nurses but there was a lot more rude, rough, insensitive ones. The young security guard stood in my room doorway watching my every move which made me feel so uncomfortable. Needless to say, I was so happy to be released to come home and we will be going to a different hospital from now on. read more

Our ER visit was of a serious nature and I was very impressed with the modern facilities and the professional and caring staff. The Staff went above and beyond in assisting me with logistics and in working with a local pharmacy to stay open a bit past closing so that I could obtain a prescription. read more

The only thing I like about it is it's close. I went to the ER because I had a rash on my leg and it so bad. I had cellulites. I went back everyday fir the next four days because it kept getting worst. They finally decided to admit me. They had a surgeon check to see if the infection which would go straight to my knee replacement which is really. He said no won't happen. Well it did. I became septic and almost died. I literally spent the next year in the hospital in Olympia having knee surgeries and I've ant iitics. They had to remove my knee fir six months. I went in one time because I knew I had some DVT's in my leg because I've had them many times before and I know what they feel like. They checked and told me nope no blood clots. I told them they were wrong. They are experts and I'm fine. I left and drive to good Sam twenty minutes later. I was admitted to ICU. I had three blood clots two in my calf and one in my lung. If I would have taken st Elizabeth at their word the blood clot would have broke loose and killed me read more
