I took my dog in for a bath on 2/18/25 to St Francis Vet. After a couple days I noticed my dog yelping in pain anytime I barely touched his back. I took my dog to a different vet to get dog looked at. I was asked if he recently had a grooming. Vet informed me that the technician at St. Francis applied way too much pressure on my dog's back during shampoo. I was informed that pushing back and forth during shampoo too aggressively can cause this. I was told that my dog's entire skin on his back was injured and covered in what the veterinarian called 'post-grooming furunculosis.' After vet shaved part of my dog's back to show me, it looks like chemical burns on the skin of his entire back. I was informed that post-grooming furunculosis is a deep skin infection after grooming. I was told it is a painful infection and this is why my dog is yelping when back is touched. I was given antibiotics to help treat the infection and itching foam. It cost me 374.09. I had another appt. about a week or so after and my dog received more antibiotics as injury was still not healed; it was another vet bill. This time for 161.54. My dog has had several other baths with St.Francis and this is first time my dog was ever injured there. I contacted St Francis and they NEVER- not once apologized for the injury to my dog. When I spoke on the phone to the assistant manager, in regards to reimbursing me for the vet bill, she requested that I send vet paperwork over. I did this immediately after hanging up the phone. I waited about 3-4 days for the answer to my vet reimbursement request and she finally called me back. I was told that a refund would be given on shampoo only; she stated there would be no reimbursement for vet bill. (only one bill at that time 374.09). I want to make it clear that not for a minute do I think it was intentional; however, I believe the shampoo tech made a bad mistake. Horrible company/ horrible management to not take responsibility for the injury that they did to my dog. read more

Only good thing about this vet is the assistants they do a great job. The random vets they hire are very rude and don't ask questions they just make assumptions so that's the lack of respect you should expect. I can bring our dog back when she hasn't had 3 hours of playtime and isn't calm. No respect given no respect earned. If you like passive aggressive vets or those that think everything you have to say is nonsense then this is a perfect place to take your loved animals. read more

I wanted to share our experience with. St. Francis Veterinary Clinic in the hopes of sparing you from excessive costs. We took our 3 dogs there in September to get check-ups and establish care. 3 hours and $1200 later, we were told we had to come back in a month for booster shots. We were also told we had to come back for issues with 2 of our dogs that the vet we saw couldn't address. When we came back, we were charged for 3 "booster exams" in addition to the boosters themselves. While there we learned that one of our dogs needed her rabies vaccine, so we were charged an addtional exam fee for her. We didn't receive an additional exam. These charges are unfounded and excessive. I'll spare the details for the exchange we had with the staff and just say we won't be back. I'd avoid that place unless you want to pay excessively for every service and may have to come back if the doctor/owner isn't the one to see your pet. read more

Would recommend going elsewhere. Misdiagnosed a very common illness in which they wanted to hospitalize our four month old pup for. Had we not listened to our gut about this misdiagnosis, we would have lost him. The other veterinarian figured out what was wrong within two minutes and then validated their diagnosis with a simple test. The rest of the staff and boarding are great, but we have zero confidence in the veterinary clinic. read more

Dr. J didn't an amazing job figuring out what was wrong with him and getting him back on his feet. I was so excited to Hear that Dr. Jaramillo opened her own vet clinic!!! We used to see her at a different location, and we have followed her to her new clinic, St. Francis. She is so patient, kind, and she truly LOVES what she does! Not to mention the outstanding staff, from receptionists to nurses, we could not ask for a better all-around experience. Flora, our favorite nurse, is so knowledgable and personable. Flora and Dr. J have always taken the time to explain every detail- we never feel rushed. I remember a specific visit where Dr. J went above and beyond to research FIV vaccines for us, which meant the world to me. St. Francis Vet clinic is new to our neighborhood, and based on a recent visit, we're thrilled Dr. Jaramillo is here. She is one of the most caring individuals I've ever dealt with in the veterinary business--considerate, gentle, professional and attentive to our our cat's needs and treatment in every way. We haven't yet used the boarding facilities, but they appeared impeccably clean and spacious, cats and dogs are kept widely separated, and the nightly cost seemed quite reasonable. Highly recommended for all small animal owners, especially those in the lower Bryant Irvin, Oakmont, Alta Mesa areas. read more
