If you're in need of a vet, don't bother. I was a client for 7 years, including euthanasia of my beloved dog and monthly purchases of expensive food. I moved from FW for 6 years. I returned hoping to reinstate my patronage and was informed they weren't taking new clients. While I am happy for their success, I find it difficult to believe they are so callous and arrogant to not welcome me back. read more

Westcliff Animal Hospital is my preferred vet because of the staff and the reasonable cost of a wellness visit ($25). The vaccines are very affordable as well. The next place that is close in price is the humane society when they do the once a month vaccines, although limited and you have to wait in a long line. Dr. Cass was very pleasant and took time with me and my cats. She even gave them treats to comfort them. My cats have never been more comfortable at a vet! There is one downside to this clinic. To get an appointment here as a new client can take months since the wait list is so long. And when you are a client, if you need a last minute visit because your animal gets sick, it can be hard to schedule. I will say that the staff was trying their best to squeeze me in and even called me about cancellations. Despite the difficult scheduling, I think Westcliff animal hospital is absolutely worth every penny. read more

Tried to make an appointment for a new puppy. Their employee was extremely rude and short with me over the phone. After telling me the first available appointment is in 3 months I took it only to find out that it was cancelled because I didn't call the day before to confirm it. What? I have to make an appointment and then ALSO call them before showing up?! How is place still in business? I was hoping to start going to this vet that is walking distance from my home but it's not worth the hassle or the rude employees. I'll just stick with the PARC vet who got my puppy in two days after I called them and keeps the appointments I make. read more

I cannot express how wonderful this vet clinic is. The women at the front desk are kind and extremely helpful. The phone is always picked up, and if they have to ask the vet a question, they always get back to you in a timely manner. My family and I have always had a lot of pets, and they have been our vet for years. I went there when I was a little girl and go there as an adult for all my pets now. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and really care about giving your pets the best lives. Plus, they care about you too. I'm practically a regular here since I'm the go to for all of my families pets and they are always very kind and welcoming. They even treat "exotic" pets. I have a rabbit, and many sources say that you have to bring them into specific vets because they are so small. But when I got him, they said they actually have many rabbits they take care of. They even sent me paperwork with specific information on how to take care of him and what he should be eating. It was completely different then most of the information I was getting online, and he is living his happiest life. They have always taken amazing care of our many dogs and cats over the years too. I call in every time I feel like one of our pets is acting strange and they are very patient with the many questions I ask and don't make you come into an appointment to ask them. Let me start by saying that, for the most part, this has been a great vet clinic to take our babies to. They are knowledgeable, kind, and as others have stated, don't try to push unnecessary treatments just for money. However, my only issue is with Dr. Cass and her bedside manner. She is very talkative and does more talking than listening to pet parents. As our dogs were growing up and in good health, the checkups and vaccine visits went well and we could look past the overly chatty Dr. Cass because she was still friendly enough. But yesterday, we had to take in our feeble, barely mobile 13 year old dog to be put down and naturally we were grieving. Dr Cass came in the room immediately chatting away and barely seemed to register our sweet Myla laying there. She was all business, and I get that she has to do this regularly, but her compassion was nonexistent, to either our dog or us. She then pulls out a muzzle for the sedative shot (Myla has had to be muzzled in past visits because she doesn't like needles) and we make the comment that we wish she didn't have to be muzzled on her last day and that she really has no fight left in her. Dr Cass proceeds to say "it'll just be for a second, if she bites me, she'll have to be taken to animal control". What kind of comment is that to a grieving family about a dog who's laying there hurting and about to pass? Even if that's policy, that comment could have been completely avoided. She could've even lied and said it was for the dog's protection and would keep her calm for the shot. The casual way she said that to us will stick with me for a while. The rest of the procedure went as smoothly as it could go, but Cass remained very cold and clinical and kept making chatty comments as she went along. MORAL of the story is if you want a quick euthanasia procedure and bedside manner isn't important to you, then this is fine. I also have really liked Dr Heinrichs here and I think she would've been a better vet in this scenario. I wish we could've chosen her. RIP my sweet Myla. read more

I don't know how this vet has 5 stars. I recently came to town visiting my parents during a drive cross country (a move) and my cat escaped. Fortunately she was found at my parents house but ran out of her prescription food. As any good pet parent, I had her Rx with me and called to get it filled as this was a special case and an emergency (and they can call my vet in TN as well to confirm!). I was told that unless your a patient, they can't fill. In other words, we don't get your money on a regular basis so we can't help you. Not only is that ridiculous, when I said that's a bit extreme and silly, they hung up on me. Again. Don't go here. They don't really care about animals, just money. And that was made crystal clear when they refused to help. read more

Dr. Cass is amazing. She knows exactly how to care for your animals without shoving unneeded meds or treatment on them. When it necessary THEN she prescribes it. I feel like she gets to the root of the problem instead of masking it. If only she took care of humans too. She is HARD to get into though. Packed schedule and I always end up waiting when I do have an appointment. It's worth it. Sometimes I will bring in a fur baby at 7:30 am to drop off and pick up after 3:30 when she has been able to work the animal in. Her prices are very low to almost nonexistent. The only time I would go anywhere else is if she is closed. She doesn't care for exotics but has recommended some fabulous vets that do. They also offer boarding. read more

I adopted a cute cat in December and I had to look for a vet before I could bring my kitty home. Well, I asked around and looked at what other people had to say about several places and decided to put my trust and the health of my kitty in the hands of Dr. Cass. The place is not very flashy and it is not in a "pretty" area but the staff is extremely nice, helpful and will take good care of your loving pet (or family member). Their fees are pretty reasonable and Dr. Cass is very sociable and will not do an unnecessary procedure (unlike other pet doctors). I recently had my (now) 6 months kitty declawed. Dr. Cass recommended that I only declaw the front paws since those are the ones that destroy shoes, clothing and furniture and keep the back paws (used for protection from predators or unfriendly family members) so that my kitty could defend herself AND I could save some money. read more

I've been using various veterinary services fro 25+ years and Dr. Cass is only the 2nd vet I've found with a tremendous beside manner and true love for your pets (and the family members). Simply put: Dr. Cass is AMAZING! She gives prudent treatment options and treats the source, not the symptoms. She's not quick to prescribe medication or surgery. If she does, you can feel assured that it's truly needed. The facility is not fancy but it's clean and practical. I believe that's why she is able to keep her fees more than reasonable. (I've used other vets and walk out feeling like I've just been robbed after paying exorbitant fees.) They stay busy so make sure you call ahead, if possible. I have NEVER been treated so rudely by a veterinarian! We are new to the area, when I made the appointment for our dogs I confirmed that I could meet with a doctor before handing over our "child." I was in my vehicle with the dog AND wearing a mask when she comes to my window and starts yelling at me that this wasn't how they were doing things during COVID (most in her age group have been vaccinated already) and that I needed to follow their set protocol, which normally I would have NO problem with, I JUST wanted to put a name and face with whom I was leaving our fur-child. Why is that too much to ask? And, if she wanted to admonish me, she certainly could have been nicer than coming straight to the truck and yelling. When I tried to explain why I was asking to meet the person seeing our dog, she yelled at me to leave. I never once raised my voice to her. I very seldom cry, but this incident made me cry she was so awful. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Cass. I can assure you that money is not the only thing she cares about. The review by Ebony M. is an expression of frustration with a situation which she doesn't understand. The request she made was completely inappropriate and the response of the vet was appropriate. Plus --- if you start badmouthing someone who is not going to give it back,what happens is they will hang up. It is unfortunate that Ebony M. didn't have the presence of mind to contact an emergency vet clinic or seek advice from her vet in another state since she indicates in the review that her's was an emergency and even then she would have to take the pet in for an exam. read more

10+ year patients (Tom and Lincoln), couldn't wait the week for our appointment so we went in early one Monday. Staff was EXTREMELY rude and unwilling to help. LIED multiple times about the Dr. not being there and when the next available time slot was. I called University animal hospital while walking out of the "office" and had an appointment 30 minutes later. See ya Dr. Cass. We unfortunately only found out about these great people approximately 6 months before we had to put our dog down. We did get to experience the great service and professionalism that both the staff and doctors displayed each and every time we were there. We came in with a 17 year old Border Collie for a routine exam and to get some RX (heart worm prevent meds) they mitigated our expense by eliminating the normal required exams due to the dogs age. Months later after our dog had turned 18 yrs old it was decided that the best thing to do was to put her down due to some age related issues. Dr. Cass was the best. We really appreciate this group and will use them again with future pets. read more
