They shaved her tail and didn't come close to a teddy bear cut. All for $179. I figured something bad had happened when it took 15 minutes for someone to finally greet me at the front. One of the workers in the back saw me when I walked in but wouldn't get off her phone to respond. She finally came to the front when she finished her call.

Because they couldn't read where the expiration date was, I was emailed that they cannot accept my dog claiming the record doesn't have an expiration date at 10:20am the day of the appointment before 1pm. What an absolute frustrating experience and biggest waste of time all because someone couldn't read the details.

Two days later they said it was the dog's fault and would not pay the $103 for the vet medications. Today I had to take both dogs that were groomed back to the vet for $259.37 for more medication and help. Petbar offered to give me a small discount and some minor services the next time But no medical expense. They also said I should have had a more experienced groomer which was the one they recommended! I have the pictures they took of his injuries; it is inconceivable that it is the dogs fault.

When I dropped him off, I specifically declined the late-night treat because I know my dog does not like peanut butter. However, when I picked him up the next day around 2:00 PM, I was surprised to find charges on my bill for both a "late" pickup and the late-night treat that I had declined. The most concerning issue, however, was my dog's condition when he came home. He was covered in fleas. Prior to his stay, he did not have a flea problem, and he had even been to the vet the day before boarding with no issues noted. Finding him infested immediately after boarding was extremely upsetting. Not only was this uncomfortable for my dog, but it also created a problem in my home that now requires treatment and additional expense. In addition, my dog is normally very high energy, but when he came home he slept the entire first day, which was highly unusual for him and added to my concern about his overall condition after his stay. Between the unexpected charges and the flea issue, this was a very disappointing experience. I would encourage pet owners to carefully review their invoices and thoroughly inspect their pets after pickup.

However, I'm super picky about the groomers for my pup, and COVID-19 made it hard for me to feel comfortable sending her anywhere to get groomed. Luckily, I came across the site for Petlocks and saw all the wonderful work Lee has done on her clients! Mali is a 10 lb senior maltese-poodle mix. It has been about 8 months since her last grooming (I personally trimmed her every month). Mali was scared at first (like always), but looked so comfortable and at home when I came to pick her up at the groomers! I've never seen her so comfortable before, so I knew she was in good hands. The staff is super sweet! Lee was able to understand what I was asking for and delivered above and beyond expectations! Lee told me Mali was matted all over, but she was patient with Mali and the outcome was so adorable! They even sent me a cute little photo once she was all done and ready to be picked up.

I told them I had a receipt from the vet's office which showed they received their parvo vaccines yesterday. They said they still needed vet records showing the expiration date to "protect the groomers." I assured them that parvo vaccinations administered yesterday have not expired. (I did not see any point in letting them know that the parvovirus carried by dogs is not transmissable to humans.) They still needed the records. I guess its time to change groomers.
