I really wanted to give Happy Tails a chance, but the complete lack of urgency and poor communication made that impossible. I've been trying to plan for a week-long work trip at the beginning of May, followed some time in Europe, and needed to secure boarding. Over three days, I submitted multiple intake forms (in case the first didn't go through), sent texts, and called. There was no follow-up, no acknowledgment. Nothing. The only response I received was a single text saying they weren't accepting new boarders until May 1 and to fill out a request form...which I had already done multiple times. If you're too busy to take on new clients, that's completely understandable. But ignoring repeated outreach and sending a generic, unhelpful response isn't. Communication matters, especially when people are trying to make plans with real deadlines. They may be great with dogs, but based on this experience, I wouldn't rely on them if you expect professionalism or responsiveness. read more

Sam and Zach have watched our dogs for the past 2 years. They have always been our go to instead of a boarding kennel. Both of these animal loving humans go above and beyond to take care for the dogs that stay at their home on their couches and comfy pillows or the newest and greatest feature is for both Sam and Zach to come to our house, love on our dogs where they feel comfortable, takes our very busy lab/boxer mix for walks and wears her out, and spends time just with our dogs. We left our dog, Guster, with Samantha for four nights recently and were thrilled with the care she gave him. Gus is a shelter dog with some pretty extreme anxiety so we were very nervous to board him for the first time. In the end we had nothing to worry about. She was extremely thorough up front, making sure that he was up to date on all shots and that she understood his specific needs. She also gave me information on the other dogs who would be there the same weekend so we could decide if we thought he would do well with them. When the time came, we dropped him off and he did so well. We were concerned that he might hide in a corner the whole time but he really socialized with her and the other dogs. She e-mailed us detailed updates and even sent a video of him playing with the other dogs (which he doesn't do much of!) so we didn't worry about him while we were away. When we picked him up, she let us hang around to see him play in the yard and sent us home with some great information and homemade treats. For more money, we could have gone with the pet resort, where our dog would have been locked in it two by two room and would only be let out four times a day to use the bathroom with no contact... plus we would have had to pay for an extra day because they don't take drop offs on Sundays. I've been meaning to post a glowing review for Happy Tails Dog Sitting on Yelp for quite some time. Samantha and Norm are the BEST. She treats your dog as if he was her own and sends you daily updates (via email or text) with pictures, reassuring you that your dog is in great hands and doing well. Most recently, my dog Prince stayed with her for a week - the longest he's been away from home - and his birthday fell during that stay. She baked him the most adorable doggie cake for me to take home to celebrate when I got back, and also got him a Prince crown cookie with his name on it and sent me pics of him in a party hat! He also got a solo walk to PetSmart with Norm to pick his own toy, and an egg for breakfast - one of his favorite foods to eat! I am always blown away by how caring and loving they are and it makes me feel so much better if and when I have to travel, knowing that Prince is in good hands! I adopted him when he was 4 years old, and he had been owner surrendered at a shelter so the thought of boarding him at a kennel just made me so upset. I found her on Yelp and Prince has stayed with her 3 times so far, and I can't say enough great things about Samantha and Norm. 100% recommend them to anyone who wants a home away from home for their dog while they're away. She even checks in periodically, especially right after the stay, to check in on my pup and make sure he's doing well! And the first few visits, she even provided a wonderful take home bag with toys and homemade treats for Prince. So incredibly sweet and well priced. Wow!! I was SO nervous about leaving my two babies because family has always been able to take them in when I travel. I acquired a gorgeous little boy who was treated very badly in his start to life. Occasionally I go away and absolutely hated leaving him at the the larger style boarding kennels. And then I found Samantha who is God sent.its basically a set price and very reasonable. Saying that I don't care about price! My little boy loves it at Samantha's , he gets the run of her house and her yards and even gets to go to the Doggie park. I am very protective of my dog and I am always hesitant to leave him at a kennel when I go out of town. However, after having my dog stay at happy tails I will definitely be going back there if I ever need anyone to watch my dog. Samantha is very friendly and gives the dogs all of the attention and love that their owners normally would. Cannot rave more about happy tails and Samantha! She just watched my 1.5 golden retriever Nala for almost 2 weeks while we were in Italy! I love Happy Tails! I have left my morkie-poo, Keiko, with Samantha several times now and whenever I pick him up he looks happy and calm. Samantha is the best! Our shitzu Merlot loves to go visit Samantha and play with her other "guests". My wife and I travel a lot and when Merlot sees our suitcases she gets so excited because she knows she is going to Samantha's. Whether its for 3 days or 3 months (really; last year we took a 3 month trip and Merlot stayed with Samantha) Merlot always has a great time. A few weeks ago Samantha noticed a small issue in Merlot's mouth and took her to our vet to get it checked out while we were away for two weeks. I just picked up my dog yesterday after having him stay with Samantha for 5 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. I could not be happier with Happy Tails Dog Sitting. She sent me email updates every other day with pictures. My dog looked so happy in them!! He had so much fun playing with the other dogs. It was a tad expensive bc I booked during the holidays. Normally its $30/night, but during the holidays it goes up to $45/night. However I totally think it was worth every penny I paid! Your dog will enjoy this way more than being stuck in a kennel... yes they do schedule play times for them at kennels but with Happy Tails, your dog can be around other dogs and great people 24/7. You can pay extra to get your dog bathed right before you pick him up. As an added bonus when I went to pick my dog up, she gave me some homemade dog treats she made... and these were some fancy treats!! They looked like actual cookies and cupcakes. We got an email update (with pictures) during the week which was great to let me know the condition of our little runt. I absolutely ADORE Happy Tails Dog Sitting! My Shiba Inu, Whiskey, has unbelievable anxiety and has a hard time warming up to people - but definitely not to Samantha! I've had the pleasure of boarding Whiskey with her several times now, and each time has been just amazing as the last. Samantha makes sure to give the dogs staying with her ample attention and you can tell based on the way Whiskey runs up to her and greets her. In fact, he knows her car now and knows that when he sees it that it's time to hang out with his friends. I have honestly never seen Whiskey warm up so much to anyone that wasn't immediate family.
