I did splurge on new glasses since I got just "computer" glasses for work and my progressive lenses weren't working for my job as I stare directly AT a computer screen for 8 hours everyday. The customer service is now shockingly poor. Just getting the initial appointment seemed ridiculous while the person scheduling me seemed to be rolling her eyes when I had the nerve to be questioning what their latest and earliest appointments are. They are close to my house but I work close to Hillsboro which can be tricky to get to or from sometimes. Saturday appointments are not available and even regular appointments are booked out for weeks - perhaps they are so busy that they just don't care? I genuinely do not drive around during the day. I also was not aware they have half of Beaverton under construction so I was running late by about 10 minutes. The entire lobby was full of people and the person at the front had a conversation with the eye person who I think my appointment was with.... the eye person glared weirdly at me. Was it my cane? I was super confused and trying to get to the counter around all the people storming their counter. The person at the counter had wandered away, then over five minutes later they come back finally to say I was now over 15 minutes past my appointment so he would have to reschedule me? I get it if I actually was THAT late and seriously, making the appointment the first time with a person talking down to me was already challenging weeks before but this just seemed like they overbooked and were finding an excuse to just get rid of me. Anyway, let's focus on the wonderful Evergreen Eye Care. Dr. Zamberlan and her staff are consummate professionals. I haven't had such a modern, comprehensive exam in a long time. The staff are so welcoming, from making my appointment to my first visit. Unlike a lot of medical offices, the waiting room is not crowded and Dr. Z. takes her time sharing her knowledge with her patients. I truly felt valued and am so happy to have found my "forever" eye care practice. Sandy was the assistant at my visit...so friendly and knowledgeable. Nicole helped me select 2 frames (which are very reasonably priced) plus new reading lenses and offered me their current discounts. They have such a nice selection and I've never chosen glasses so quickly! I cannot think of any suggestions to make other than to ask that you please continue to do what you are doing. The waiting room features a hot and cold water dispenser, as well as a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge variety of flavors. Chairs are plush and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the technology in the pre-exam area. There are four machines right in a row. The first is an interactive test for peripheral vision / size of field of view. The second is an automatic test to establish one's baseline eyeglasses prescription, featuring a barn at the end of street on a grassy field to look at as opposed to others I've experienced that have nothing or a blurry circle. The third is an "air puff" glaucoma tester, and the fourth is one that takes photos of one's eyes. The wait to see the eye doctor was very short, and Dr. Hu was extremely professional, polite, and helpful. She was the first eye doctor who was ever able to answer my questions about how to determine which of two lens choices to pick. Here is the conversation: "Which is clearer, 1, or 2"? I said that "1 may look a bit sharper, but the 'O' looks like a square where it looks round on '2'". Her advice to choose the one that is less distorted seems to have made all the difference in the world. The prescription I got was far and away the easiest to adjust to I've ever experienced. They literally required no adjustment period at all. It was instantly perfect. I was also very happy that this exam, despite it having been my first exam in over a decade, didn't require my eyes to be dilated. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I'm not complaining. If you're a new patient, don't get discouraged by the long wait time before you can get in. The reason that they're booked solid for a few months out is because they are great, and waiting is definitely worth it.

I decided to switch to Three Rivers after a rather horrible experience at another local…read moreOptometrist. I'm very happy I did! The previous place had my prescription wrong. Not only did Three Rivers give me the correct prescription but I found the staff to be professional and friendly. I have VSP coverage and had no problem getting the frames and features I wanted. Three Rivers has less quantity of frames than the previous place but their quality is better. I found more frames that I liked here and the woman helping me was patient as I found myself being indecisive on which one to choose. They also send me reminders for when I'm due for another appointment under my insurance which I appreciate. I have absolutely no complaints about Three Rivers and recommend them to friends and family.

I'd used my Albuterol inhaler for asthma just before my visit and my hands were too shaky to fill out the form, so the office staff helped me with it. Dr Thomas Chewerda is super nice and very knowledgeable and I respect his opinion completely. His office has all of the new equipment to do a really COMPLETE exam which is also a confidence booster. The rest of my family goes there and they are quite happy with their experiences. We would recommend the St Helens office to everyone.
