Will never go back there again. Rude uppity staff. They could not get my glasses correct after sending them back 3 times! Kept telling me to wear them when I couldn't see out of them. I need them to drive. I would have gotten in an accident! They blamed me, the glasses, anything short of taking responsibility that they made the mistake! After well over a month and after making numerous calls to find out what the holdup was getting my glasses I was informed today that "the lab no longer offers yellow tint lenses but never informed the office". So my order has been languishing for well over a month and no one at Accent Eyewear had sufficient customer skills to tell anyone. Or to even investigate why there was such a long delay. I'd also give the lab a zero star rating if I knew who these idiots were. But since Accent Eyewear was the broker for this transaction and since Accent Eyewear apparently didn't care enough about me as a customer to track down the problem over a month ago, I have to post this highly negative review of their operation. Needless to say, I cancelled the order, demanded a refund and will NEVER be returning. A $477 lost sale... pretty amazing that a company that has prices in the stratosphere cares so little about their customers. Given their stunning level of incompetence, I have zero confidence that Accent Eyewear will be refunding my $250 insurance benefit payment so that I can use it to purchase glasses from someone else who will actually deliver them. At a minimum, this is likely to take multiple additional calls. read more

Accent eyewear charged My Manhattan insurance back in Appril $188.00 for contacts lens that i my never picked up as they were horrible with glare night driving. No refund and no credit kept wanting me to try a different one. Then July they charged my insurance again over 300.00 fir glasses I tried on - but never told them to go again waiting to see what was going on with my April Charge to my benefits! It's dec 7 - no credit - no adjustment to my Manhattan insurance!! told them i was contacting BBB - and the Attorney Generala office - in Sept. I have been seeing Lance for years. Get it? seeing, eyewear... If I have to explain it... I went thru the whole lasic program with Lance. He walked me thru every step, and diagnosed my needs perfectly. He was there for the follow up visits as well. I would not have done this had it not been for Lance and his ability to make me feel at ease every step of the way. I have been going here for years. I used to live in Rock Creek and ended up moving for work over by Troutdale a few years ago. We love our optometrist (Dr. Hibbert ) so much that we drive here even though it's pretty far away. She is amazing with all of our kids and puts them at easy each visit. It's hard to find someone you trust with your whole family. She explains everything very well and is very kind. She is the only optometrist we will see at this point. read more

I had my eye exam towards the end of December 2023, 2 months back. I got progressive and Computer prescriptions, and I was told by the doctor that the computer glasses can also be used for reading. As I came out the staff insisted me to get glasses from them like they always do (have been going there from 2018), I told them it would be expensive to get glasses from them and then went to Costco and got the glasses. The progressive glasses were OK, but the near reading/Computer prescription glasses were blur and not working at all for me. I can hardly see my computer screen. I called them two days back about it and I was told to come in today at 8:30 am (later I got message that my appointment is at 9:45 am) and the staff will help me, I insisted I want the doctor to take a look and also enquired about billing as my VSP vision insurance will not cover it. I was told by a staff member who is a male short stout white guy that my insurance nor I will never have to pay for the visit as it is a recheck up of the prescription. I visited the doctor Ashley Hubert yesterday and the staff and the doctor were in a rush to prove they did not make a mistake on my prescription and then quickly rechecked my vision in a lot of HURRY and told me everything is fine and did not address my concern. She gave me an additional prescription just for reading and advised me to use the previously prescribed one for just computer, which was still blur. But the On my way out I was asked to pay $55 fee, quite a surprise, as I was told by the staff while taking the appointment that as it is a recheck up and there would be any fee. I reminded the staff about it and they started saying if I see the staff for the issue the visit is free but I have to now pay for the doctor, the same doctor who prescribed me a computer prescription earlier which resulted in blurry vision. I was clearly told when I called them yesterday that the doctor's visit will be free of charge to recheck the prescription. They were kind of all prepared to embarrass me there. These guys will not accept if they make a mistake and if you are lucky, you get your prescription glasses right, if they make a mistake, please do not go back in there. They don't help and on top of that they will embarrass you and be very rude to you including the doctor Ashley Hubert and staff members Kaylen, Brent, and James. The staff was very rude. Me and my family are planning not to go back there again. Please find some nice decent place. read more

We have been going to Accent for several years now. The prices for frames are a bit up there, but the quality compared to fast frame shops is hands down better. I have always got free repairs if needed too. The doctors are really nice and helpful, there are a couple of employees that need a friendly adjustment in customer service thus my 4 rating. The new store a few doors down from the old is really nice and warm feeling. Coffee and Water available for you too along with comfy chairs and couches. Bye Bye uncomfortable chairs. I came here from another Hillsboro eyewear place, and I was so amazed at the high level of service I received. From the moment I walked in and was graciously greeted, to the happiness I felt at the number of frames they had for petite faces, to the awesome warranty...they rocked. I wanted two pairs, and the optician was able to tell me just how he would do that to save me some money. We preordered for my next insurance period, and he'll just hit send on the order Jan 2! I don't even need to come back! The glasses were in within four days, where my old place would take weeks. They use technology to get the lenses right instead of a marker and measuring... And they can get you in for an appointment within a week usually! I really appreciate them, and I love my new glasses. I haven't been able to say that in a long, long time. read more

Both Optometrists I have seen here have been very friendly and neither have suffered me post lunch onion breath which is how I transferred to their office to begin with. Seriously folks, if you are getting up in someone's face after you eat extra garlic and onions you may want to think about a thorough mouth cleansing. At the very least, some binaca! I have went to this Accent Eyewear going on 4-5 years now and have never been disappointed. They LOVE giving out contact samples if you are looking for something different. I get contact lenses and glasses both here. I have been nearby before and needed my glasses tightened and they are great about helping you out whatever your needs are. I have been coming here for almost 18 years. Dr. Anderson is the only doctor I see and he is excellent. He really cares about my vision and goes out of his way to try and find the best solution for me, whether it was soft contacts, hard contacts, or glasses. I also had the PRK done through Dr Anderson a few years ago and he oversaw my recovery process. Initially I was only coming here for eye exams, but in recent years I have started getting glasses here. Now this is the only place I will get glasses. Brent provides excellent service and he even special ordered some Maui Jim glasses which I love. I really enjoy the fun Etnia Barcelona frames they carry as well. read more

Accent Eye Wear here at the Tanabourne location amazes me with the lack of poor management and certainly the lack of communication skills which is none. May 31st. they took our initial order and had some problems with them upon picking them up on June 10th. They were done wrong at Accent Eye Wear would have them redone at the Lab. However, the order was not turned in until over two weeks later for reasons only known by staff. Again, no call-backs from the Management or, staff so we stopped by on Tuesday, 6/28 and were informed by the team that the eye wear was at the Lab now having the finish work done and should be available in a few days. Staff indicated Tuesday, July 5th. at the very latest. Well, here again no calls or updates we stopped by today July 8th. 2022 as we had been told that they would be done before this date only to learn again that they are at NOW at the Lab having the finish work done. This finish work and/or BS seems to take a long time. I get it. Everyone in every industry is short-handed and have all other kind of excuses. However, nothing excuses poor or rather lack of communication and customer service. I would not recommend this place under the current Management and staff. Perhaps someday it will improve! Service via phone or follow-up appears to remain unseen. After 4 weeks of calling and leaving messages to check status on a test lens with no progress is subpar. A customer should make good faith effort irrespective but not to this extent including stopping by the store twice as a courtesy Focus less on volume and more on quality. Okay stuck in suburban strip-mall hell out in Tanasbourne is an innocuous front for Accent Eyewear.... At first glance upon entering, it looks like all Optometrist offices in strip-malls across the US. Their frame selection is nice. They have what is currently in style, but not in the "Keep Portland Wierd" style. I mean this is Hillsboro - not Portland - right?... Right?! LOL. That said, the entire staff is always smiling and very, very helpful! I've had to have my lenses on my newest pair of glasses replaced twice. Which they did for free and with a sincere smile. They even provided me w/ a trial pair of contact lens to tide me over until my glasses returned back from the lab. Yes, I'm a fan. 3 stars for frame selection. 4 stars for contact lens selection and excellent customer service and attention to detail. I just wish they would carry Amy Sacks eyewear. read more

Dr Anderson is very experienced optometrist I ever had. He is able to get your eyes refracted accurately especially if you need high power glass to see 20/20. He never over prescribed your power and it's just right so you can see clearly yet not over power so you feel very comfortable and remove the fatigue of the eyes. I have to admit, the very high index glass, no refraction and scratch resistance for deep nearsightedness on tri focal lens is very expensive but the clarity and the comfort is worth every dime of it! read more

Dr Anderson was personable and explained in detail more information about my eyes, retina, and veins than I ever knew before. Fascinating imaging taken of my eyes which put me at ease to know my vision is healthy since my grandparents had macular degeneration and cataracts. Extremely disappointed with this place. They were doing so well until they really screwed me over with a *series" of errors! I had come here with a sunglasses frame and only one lens. The other one popped out at some point and got lost. I told them I simply wanted a replacement pair of lenses. Same grade, same coatings, same transitions sensitivity. Three weeks had passed without any notification. I followed up and it turns out the person did not place the order! So he did. But then I was leaving Oregon and would not be around to get it in person. I asked them to mail it to me. Another 3 weeks and I receive the lenses. They were the WRONG lens! I called to report the issue. They wanted me to send back the lenses I had, and once received only then would they order the correct ones. I needed these glasses for my sport, and not having them for a long time already caused problems for many events. I feel like I was just not treated with value once I moved out of state. read more

Their frame selection is enough for me, always find something though probably isn't as cheap as some places. They have the contacts I need, but again I'm not sure how it compares to other stores. Can I give a review of ZERO?! Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. I ordered a pair of glasses two years ago. It took them 2 months to get the correct lenses and prescription! They blamed it on an office worker and recent changes. My daughter recently decided to give them a try, thinking my experience was a fluke!
