Okay, Yelp.....what's up with removing reviews?? This is the 4th of my recent reviews that went *poof*...let's get on that. (business owners have mentioned this to me as well!) Anyway, let's focus on the wonderful Evergreen Eye Care. Dr. Zamberlan and her staff are consummate professionals. I haven't had such a modern, comprehensive exam in a long time. The staff are so welcoming, from making my appointment to my first visit. Unlike a lot of medical offices, the waiting room is not crowded and Dr. Z. takes her time sharing her knowledge with her patients. I truly felt valued and am so happy to have found my "forever" eye care practice. Sandy was the assistant at my visit...so friendly and knowledgeable. Nicole helped me select 2 frames (which are very reasonably priced) plus new reading lenses and offered me their current discounts. They have such a nice selection and I've never chosen glasses so quickly! I cannot think of any suggestions to make other than to ask that you please continue to do what you are doing. Evergreen Eye Care is awesome. *Update: I referred my hub to EEC and asked him about his experience. He said, "I loved it!!" He went on to share how complete his exam was and all the great suggestions Dr. Z. offered. In this era of impersonal, conveyer-belt medicine, Evergreen is the antithesis. Evergreen Eye Care is top-notch. Everything from the friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff, to the cleanliness and modern atmosphere, to the amazing technology is the best I've ever experienced. The waiting room features a hot and cold water dispenser, as well as a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge variety of flavors. Chairs are plush and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the technology in the pre-exam area. There are four machines right in a row. The first is an interactive test for peripheral vision / size of field of view. The second is an automatic test to establish one's baseline eyeglasses prescription, featuring a barn at the end of street on a grassy field to look at as opposed to others I've experienced that have nothing or a blurry circle. The third is an "air puff" glaucoma tester, and the fourth is one that takes photos of one's eyes. The wait to see the eye doctor was very short, and Dr. Hu was extremely professional, polite, and helpful. She was the first eye doctor who was ever able to answer my questions about how to determine which of two lens choices to pick. Here is the conversation: "Which is clearer, 1, or 2"? I said that "1 may look a bit sharper, but the 'O' looks like a square where it looks round on '2'". Her advice to choose the one that is less distorted seems to have made all the difference in the world. The prescription I got was far and away the easiest to adjust to I've ever experienced. They literally required no adjustment period at all. It was instantly perfect. I was also very happy that this exam, despite it having been my first exam in over a decade, didn't require my eyes to be dilated. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I'm not complaining. If you're a new patient, don't get discouraged by the long wait time before you can get in. The reason that they're booked solid for a few months out is because they are great, and waiting is definitely worth it. read more

I wouldn't still be a patient if I didn't like it. It doesn't hurt that it's near my house, as well. I love my eye doc because she tries different things. I started with Dr. Z who is sweet as candy. She is very busy and books up pretty quickly so I decided to go to the "other" doc. I was thinking that I would not be happy since I really liked Dr. Z but now I LOVE my doc. She always tries new things with my eyes until she can find what works best for me. I have an astigmatism and before doctors would tell me that I am out of luck for contacts. I wore wrong fitting ones for many years and then, after coming to Evergreen Eye Care, I now wear not only contacts but astigmatism contacts. My doc let me know when they just came out and had me try them right away. Yes, I still wear glasses but contacts work best for me. Now to the front office. They are very helpful and will spend time explaining your insurance, the breakdown of what your insurance offers, and will even tell you which glasses fit you best. BTW, they get new frames often. When I went for my exam, I didn't see anything that I liked (maybe it was my mood or who knows). When I went back, there were many glasses that I liked and they even had a buy one get one for 1/2 deal so I got sunglasses which I LOVE! Definitely check them out. read more

My family and I were among Dr. Zamberlan's first patients. Evergreen Eye Care has taken great care of our vision all these years, and they continue to do so. We love their Maui Jim Collection (sunglasses). I no longer need glasses because I had cataract surgery. Dr. Z referred me to Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Salmon Creek, and they took great care of my vision too. I get my annual check ups with Dr. Z. She's like extended family, or as we say in Hawaii, ohana. (Yes, I'm originally from Hawaii.) Friendly staff. Everyone is nice and professional. Dr. H is wonderful too. Our family members had their vision checked by her, when Dr. Z was booked up. read more

I have been coming here for over 10 years and I consider the staff family. They have been so amazing to my family and I, especially Dr. Z. The customer service and follow through from this office is probably the best I've ever seen at any doctor. We waited for awhile to get in because of an issue, then we got in and had an urgent issue which needed to be referred out for more medical care. They went to great lengths to help us and had to make several referrals. They went above and beyond! Absolutely outstanding employees and customer service! read more

This place has well earned its top marks on Yelp! I felt like Dr Horrocks was the most patient and competent optometrist I've seen in the almost three decades I've needed to wear glasses/contacts. I've had a really hard time getting a contact lens fitting that works for me. I have astigmatism that isn't severe enough to require wearing the type of contacts meant to correct it, but if I don't correct the astigmatism then my vision won't be as crisp. It's always difficult to decide which route to take and I got talked into toric lenses at my last optometrist. My eyes have been pretty unhappy for the past year and I haven't even been rewarded for the discomfort with better vision because the lenses don't fit on my eyes well. Dr. H flagged it right away and didn't make me feel crazy like the last optometrist did (they assured me I would get used to it but I never did, but I had shelled out hundreds for the year supply of contacts so I suffered through it.) It was so nice to work with Dr H to explore every option as much as I wanted. She was really easy to talk to about what I wanted and understood my concerns and took her time. We found a great option for me for contacts and then she checked out my glasses that I wear part time and she was able to identify right away that the lenses in those weren't the best for me, either, so two blurry and dry eyed thumbs down to Cathedral Eye Care, my last optometrist! I was loathe to shell out for new glasses since my prescription hadn't changed, but they gained my trust and I wanted my glasses to be as good as possible for my design work and things like driving. I decided to go with their recommendations. I am so thrilled! The new glasses are perfect and are the best solution for me when I need crystal clear vision. When I want to wear contacts, then I have a super comfy option that's more than good enough. They dealt with my insurance, VPN, easily. It was actually worth it to get insurance just for my visit to Evergreen, they're quite expensive if you pay out of pocket but the insurance was a lot cheaper than I expected it to be as a self employed person, and Evergreen is a preferred provider so it kicks the prices down a bit more. So if you pair it up with insurance then their prices are reasonable. read more

I am new to the area and need to find a new optometrist. I popped in just to see what kind of glasses selection they have and I am sad to report it is very slim. They have a section of wire frames, a section of thin acrylic frames and a section for what they consider "funky" or "wild" larger frames, but I still found them to be too small. I like vintage-style (but new), large and in charge acrylic frames. I tried on a few pairs I thought I might like, but they were all too narrow on my small face. I didn't check out the men's frames as there was a couple checking them out the entire time I was looking around. I am sure their facilities are top notch. I just wish they offered a wider selection of glasses instead of having to take an appointment at one place and go out to find glasses at another. read more

Dr Z went out of her way to ensure we found the best possible contacts for my prescription and was very patient with me as I tried many different options until we agreed on the very best. Priscilla was also super helpful with mailing the contacts out to me. Whenever I contacted her with questions she was always super helpful and kind with excellent follow through. Recently I was on a cruise to Mexico (hang with me, this is relevant.). I was sitting at a beach side bar, when suddenly my eyes started to bother me. I realized that I had gotten sand between my eye and my contact. I tried to suck it up, and was worried about having to ditch my contacts in a bar in Mexico, and be sans contacts for the next few days. So, after suffering and rubbing my eye for a good thirty minutes, while being heckled by my husband ("Julia, just take out the contact!") I finally took it out. It seemed to help after a couple of hours, and I thought all was well. When I got home, my eye still hurt a bit but I threw in my new contacts. Finally, about three weeks later I had enough and called Evergreen. (It MUST be allergies, she's going to think I'm riding the crazy train!!) They fit me in that day, and I got to see the Mary Poppinsesque Dr. Z. In a friendly way, she let me know I had scratched my cornea (and drew a fantastic eyeball sketch to explain what it looked like) and got me started on some antibiotics. After a few days, I revisited the office and got a gold star and clean eye of health. Don't get me wrong, Robin at the front desk, and all the other people at Evergreen are excellent, but Dr Z is so friendly, accessible, kind, and informative. I'm so happy that this office is my home base for all things eye-care, and fully endorse them for any of your eye needs! read more

Dr Z = best eye doctor ever! Dr Zamberlan was very thorough, The explanations she gave about how the eye works and what each test does were very understandable and accessible to the lay person. Her enthusiasm for the science is palpable. She clearly enjoys her job .. it feels like it's her craft. I was referred to this clinic by the veterans administration in Portland, Oregon because I'm a veteran. Once the paperwork was completed by the va the clinic contacted me to set up an appointment they were very helpful to me in scheduling a time that was convenient for me to come in and have my eyes checked I had had an effect infection in my eye since November 2018 I solenoid doctor in Scottsdale Arizona and was prescribed medication I use that medication until I arrive back in Vancouver Washington in January. I still had the infection so I went to the veterans hospital in Vancouver, Washington eye clinic was given eye lubricant that did not work so I went to Peace hospital in Vancouver the eye doctor there was very nice and polite and helpful. I saw him two over a period of months but still had this problem with my left eye. After coming to the clinic and seeing Doctor H she was wonderful and smart and gave me a thorough eye examination and prescribed a medication that cleared up the problem that I had for almost one year. I would highly recommend her very nice lady is very smart definitely knows her job I would recommend anyone that has an eye issue to go see her read more

OMG! What could I possibly say that would do Doc Z and her staff justice? From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was welcome. All the ladies were helpful and friendly, took the time to greet us and were just great. Then, things got even better. Doc Z is awesome! Friendly, funny, knowledgable, explains every part of the process, dog lover......WOW! Not only did she nail down my perscription to perfection, but then the year's worth of contacts she ordered arrived in my mailbox in like two days. If I could choose zero stars I would. It's shocking the way this business was allowed to treat a patient by, not only the staff but Dr Z as well. When did attacking the patient over what should have been a simple resolution become ok? I was there, present during the numerous calls to Evergreen Eye Care in an attempt to resolve an issue which was clearly Evergreen Eye Cares mistake. All they had to do was say "we apologize for the oversite and we will get your lenses ordered, and call you when they arrive". That's it! That's all they had to do! Instead they argued, accused the patient for their mistake, put her calls on hold, and leaving it there for many minutes, and reiterating how their policy works, and making it clear the patient was in the wrong! Who does that! Patients don't care about "how the policy works"! They care about how they are treated, to get what they ordered, and being heard and respected when there is a problem. EVERGREEN EYE CARE FAILED ON EVERY LEVEL. I for one will never step foot in their doors and will gladly share the experience with friends and family looking for an eye care provider. There are far to many quality providers in our area to put up with this kind of treatment. read more

I have never loved a doctor so much! Dr Z not only really seems to know her stuff but she is happy to share her knowledge and answer all of your questions and if that wasn't enough I pretty sure she majored in bedside manner with I minor in comedy! She is truly a fantastic blend if everything you could ever ask for in a doctor. And then top that off with her stellar staff that always greets you with a smile and is super efficient! Dr. Horrocks was WONDERFUL with my 4 year old. She was a bit apprehensive at first but Dr. Horrocks made it SO MUCH FUN! After the appointment, and for days later, she insisted on playing "eye appointment" and keeps asking when we can go back! The staff are so attentive and I have no doubts that if I need to take my kids through the eyeglass process that they would be the best candidates to do so. This is a fabulous eye clinic, Dr Zamberlan is a rockstar!! She is so professional and adorably personable, all of her staff are fantastic. I was referred to her by my mom who is also a patient, and she's also recruited a friend and my sister, all of which have been very pleased with her and the clinic. I was fitted for contacts but she also gave me a referral and got me all set up for lasik. She went way beyond the "extra mile" to make sure I was happy with the level of care, and ensured I was in good hands for lasik surgery and out-of-state aftercare post surgery. The clinic is very clean and pleasant, as well as a good location right off I-205 in Salmon Creek, north Clark County. I recommend a visit to her office if you're interested in getting contacts, lasik surgery correction, or eye glasses. read more

I found Evergreen Eye Care when I moved to Vancouver 4+ years ago. They are conveniently located nearby. Suzanne is one of the happiest doctors I have ever known. She is extremely professional. I needed cataract surgery a couple of years ago. She follows up regularly on the progress of my eyes post surgery. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you get the most coverage from your insurance. The office also donates time for eye exams to the underinsured a couple of times a year. read more
