Do they measure and provide you with your pupillary distance?

Yes they do! Evergreen Eye Care has been (and is) my favorite eye care place EVER. Dr. Z is my optometrist. But all of the optometrists on staff are excellent! 🙂

I wish they still did. There are onlt two place that do now. Mom warned me not to go to downtown location as they are very small. So I visited the Salmon Creek location. They also have one out towards Mill Plain/ Fishers Landing. I think it is great they now have three areas for wherever it is closest for us. The optomitrist who saw me is Sayge, really good at not poking you trying to get drops in, good humor, and she is not bad on the eyes too. Mom has a different person she sees and was pleased, which means to me that there must be several who are good. So why not try them out?

I also filled out the necessary paperwork online beforehand to save time. I made our appointments back to back (9:50 am & 10am). This worked out wonderfully. We were both out of there in 40 mins! Love how helpful and efficient they are! The lady that checked us in was super friendly and helpful. She noticed our insurance had changed in January and worked hard to help us find out who our new provider was. She researched and let us know what our insurance covered with them since they were out of network with our new provider. We ended up just getting eye exams with a $10 copay. Our new provider didn't cover contacts or glasses with them, but they did mention Visionworks is in network with our provider and we should try them to get our full benefit coverage. We will definitely be doing that. I really appreciated them taking the time to help us figure out our best course of action with the best financial coverage. Highly recommend!

The first time years ago I gave her the benefit of the doubt because we all have our days. However, every time I go in for my exam and to pick new frames this woman is rude, condescending, and short with me and I've seen it with other customers as well. This time was my daughter's first experience and after her feeling the same way and picking up on the negativity, I felt it was time to rate this location. If I could rate it based off everyone else in there, I would give them a 5, but due to each experience ending with this lady and leaving with a bad taste in my mouth, I definitely think they can do a lot better. (I went to a different location to see if there was a difference, there definitely was and we will be going to that location moving forward)

Why did I come here if it wasn't to get a prescription I can fill? When I was leaving, the girl at the desk was incredibly rude and didn't acknowledge my existence at all. The doctor told her to schedule a follow up. She just sat there looking pissed off and then slid the paperwork to Derek who was working on something else and she said "do you wanna check her out?" He awkwardly said "sure give me a minute." Then she just got her stuff and left the desk. Extremely rude and unprofessional person. I came in to get a new prescription for glasses and contacts. After two days, I knew the contacts he gave me weren't working. I called the office and said I need a sooner follow up because the contacts were the wrong prescription and were hurting my eyes. She said she added a note to my file. They had nothing available for over a week (even though there were appointments available online). When I returned I was asked why I wasn't wearing the contacts and I had to reexplain everything to the staff and then reexplain it to the doctor. The doctor didn't even check the prescription. He said nothing about the glasses prescription he gave me but I can't fill. He wouldn't recheck my eyes. He gave me different contacts in my old prescription and said to come back in a week. So now i have contacts in my old prescription and a new glasses prescription that i can't use because it's not right. And I have to go back for a 3rd time and ask again for the prescription to be checked. They already billed my insurance so I can't even go somewhere else unless I pay completely out of pocket. This place is fraudulent. I am so frustrated. It's been weeks of me wanting to correct my vision. Something is off. I keep asking for help and these people keep dismissing me. They just want to bill you but not actually provide correct prescriptions. I have been wearing glasses and contacts my entire life and never had a place commit fraud like this.

I explained to her that it has been two weeks since the swelling started and it has not gotten better. She looked at my eye and explained I have some clogged oil glands and recommended that I apply warm compresses and prescribed me an antibiotic due to possible infection. We discussed other options such as "topical drops" or draining the oil glands if my eye got worse. Two days later the swelling in my worsen towards evening time, so the next day I called to make an appointment to see a doctor. This time I was seen by Dr. Shauyene Hsieh. She walked into the exam room and asked me to explain what was going on, so I explained to her what was going on with my eye. She looked at both my eyes and said she is going to order me allergy drops, after I had already explained to her that I have been using allergy drops, warm compresses, and been on antibiotics for the last 2 weeks. I asked her if she can order me "topical antibiotic drops" she proceeded to laugh at me and said "topical" and antibiotic drops drops are the same thing. I felt humiliated, not only was this doctor not listening to a word I was saying but she was now laughing at me. I felt as if my medical needs were not being addressed and I was being rushed out. I explained to her that Dr. Heintzelman said that if my eye got worse that we can look at other options such as Topical drops. She snapped back at me and said it was not included in her notes and continued to ignore what I was saying. At this point my husband could see that I was getting frustrated so he asked her about steroid shot to drain the capped oil glands. She was very short with him and asked him if she should repeat the treatment plan which we just went over. It's expensive to see a Specialist. If I could have avoided seeing one I would have, but since I was in pain I had to come in twice in one week. There should never be a reason why a patient who is paying to see a provider be treated in such manner as I was. A patient should not feel afraid to ask questions because they are afraid the Provider might get upset with you or laugh at you for not using the correct medical terminology. Dr. Shauyene Hsieh was unprofessional, rude, and uncompassionate. She was slamming things down as we were leaving the room. No one should be treated the way I was by Dr Hsieh. It was unethical, and absolutely unacceptable. I walked out of the appointment feeling humiliated and without answers.

After a couple of days they said the fax machine wasn't working and they would fix it and get the referal sent. I ended up finding my own Specialist, made my own appointment and informed his office where to send my info. Long story short, I now have wet macular degeneration and due to the scar tissue that was building up in my eye for some time I won't get any of the central vision I lost back. I have to get monthly injections in my eye. Dr Waldo is a nice guy however if you need more care then getting glasses maybe look elsewhere. I asked my eye specialist if this scaring and damage was due to the bleed I had in my eye for all these years. He nodded slightly and said we just have to move forward. Sigh I am returning to my first Ophthalmologist who is more qualified to care for my eyes long term.

I chose the larger size, but when we went to check out there was an error, so I was told we'd have to order the smaller size instead. I asked if I could exchange them if they didn't fit, and I was assured that wouldn't be a problem. When the glasses arrived, they didn't fit well. I gave them a fair chance and even let the staff try to adjust them, but they still weren't right, so I came back to exchange them. At that point, Hannah, the manager, seemed visibly annoyed that I wanted to swap them. She processed the exchange but refunded me the original price and then charged me full price for the replacement. She told me the receipt could print incorrectly, but that wasn't true. I ended up paying an extra $35 for a cheaper pair that didn't even have polarized lenses, which was the entire reason I bought them in the first place. When I realized the lenses were wrong and came back again, I was told they couldn't help because the correct glasses were out of stock. Instead, I was told I could simply return them on the last day of my warranty if I wanted to. The whole experience was frustrating and left me feeling like my concerns were treated as an inconvenience instead of being resolved.
