This school was the worst, I have been in this school preschool-7th grade, I noticed a lot of the teachers don't even teach proper stuff compared to the school I switched too, I felt like I was unprepared and didn't learn anything from this school. I learned more in 2 years at a new school then I did here, I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and every time I think back to this school all I remember is the major bullying problem and the lack of responsibility from the teachers. Me and my friend from this school still joke about how trashy the teachers were, they all had a favoritism issue and were very disrespectful. Very early into my career at this school (1st-3rd grade) I remember being taught homophobic belief (Saying gay people or anything alike will go to hell) I feel the school needs to up its game and stop spreading false information, it needs to update its teaching standards and get teachers with REAL teaching skills. I didn't learn one thing from this trash school (Expect I learned to hate school and procrastinate) I remember a week before I permanently left the school, a teacher here (will not name, names) was done teaching his lesson to us and I missed the other day, so I came up to him and asked him what we learned that day, so I could catch up, and he got mad at me and in front of the class he said "Well you should've been here and listened to me instead of skipping days, stop being useless and figure it out" I was feeling sick the day before which is why I missed the day. I personally think the teachers need to be replaced, they are borderline abusive in the way they speak and act and need to stop having such a high ego and get their head out of their ass and teach their students correctly. They wanted to prepare us for high school, yet we were so under prepared and didn't learn one thing, everything they said about high school was false. Even my high school teacher with 400 other students (3,000 in the whole school) can actually help me and make me feel smart and feel that I'm learning something and not make me feel harassed and bullied. I don't know about the elementary school but the preschool is awful, they seem to want to collect a $200 registration fee only to make you and child miserable enough to want to leave. I had to give my 4 year old a pep talk that sometimes people who are unhappy and miserable with themselves are unkind and cruel to others. Keep your head down to get your work done and your chin up, play with the kids and you'll always win because you're choose who is important and it won't be them. Even when those people are the teachers, sometimes grown ups aren't kind to children. The teacher aids were bullies bordering on abusive. read more

St. Isidore's Catholic School produces excellent students that do a lot of community services outside of church events and during other church events. If I was to raise my daughter in Yuba City this would be her school, cute uniforms, polite manners and strong Christan beliefs. read more

Many changes have occurred over the past few years. There are concerns that the current principal is new to the teaching field let alone being a leader, so many are leaving and we are unhappy. It's kind of sad, because for many of us our kids have been here forever. We will keep with it for a while longer, hoping for days gone past to return. read more

I went to this school k-8. When I graduated with good grades I was accepted into San Domenico, an all girls Catholic Boarding School. I was sorely underprepared for true college prep rigors. I then transferred to Yuba City High where I was horribly behind in Math. In 8th grade we had not even started pre-algebra! I struggled through high school, having to re-take advanced algebra. I graduated on a high note having eventually recovered from my poor science and math background and then transferred to YCC. I did eventually graduate from UC Davis, but I have to sometimes wonder if I would have chosen an engineering field, my first desire, instead of a 'softer' science degree had my math skills gotten off to a better start. I also felt like there were a lot of distracting kids at this school. I learned at least 10 racist and derogatory musical rhymes here. Why was this tolerated? Why was academic mediocrity tolerated? If your goal is to send your child here to best prepare them for college, I would seriously examine if the academic requirements have improved. Having gone to Yuba City High and co-mingled with kids form Gray Avenue, I always felt that I was a few steps behind. read more
