I feel better after reading the reviews, because now I see that I'm not the only who that got ghosted by this company. John came out to look into replacing my French doors, he told me he'd do an estimate, that he hates doing, and get back to me. We'll, I never heard from him, so after a while I called again to check on it and spoke to the receptionist, who was going to look into it and get back to me. I never heard from her again. I thought they just didn't want to replace my doors but I see I'm not alone. How they stay in business it beyond me. Had to give them a star to send this, don't know why. ​ read more

Don't use this company if you think you might need them to come back and fix anything. Because after several calls, we received no service.

This is by far the worst company I've attempted to do business with. I called to have them fix a sliding glass door that was sticking a little bit. Owner promised they could fix it. They actually made it much worse. Now it takes two hands to drag it open and makes a loud rubbing sound. The owner refuses to come see for himself. They actually deserve a negative rating. These guys are pretty horrible. I had a sliding door that was sticking a little bit. They came to fix it by replacing the rollers and adding a new track. They ended up making it much worse as now the door sticks much worse than it ever did. It's even raised up so that there's sunlight visible under the door. The owner refused to come out and check it and fix it. - I hired another company and they found the issue immediately. These guys used the wrong parts. 1. It's a huge, heavy door and they used a single roller. 2. They added a track on top of my existing track and the opposing lower portion of the door wasn't wide enough to allow for a smooth glide. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend ST Johns door & window. I can accept someone making a mistake, but I cannot accept someone not living up to honor their work. BEWARE: do not use this company. Poor quality overall. The owner and his employee are unprofessional and prideful. The employee who makes screens gets angry easily, and he did not hesitate to use the F-word when he was informed the screen did not fit correctly in our window. read more

Talked to Geoff last week and booked an appointment for them to service a sliding glass door. I let him know I'd be driving an hour to meet them at the condo. Today, at 25 minutes past our appointment time, I called them and they had Geoff call me back. He let me know that they don't send their workers out when it's raining and assumed I wouldn't want my sliding glass door worked on in the rain. I let him know that the door is under a 15 foot overhang and perfectly dry. He then, very rudely, asked me "How am I supposed to know that?" I let him know that if he had bothered calling me I would have let him know. He then proceeded to raise his voice, get quite agitated with me, and finally hang up on me. Imagine my surprise when I called back to the office to complain about Geoff and found out he's the owner! read more

I had 2 experiences with St. John Door & Window. The first was after the last hurricane. I had to have a window replaced. They were very professional and installed the window very promply. Last Sept I needed a new storm door on my condo so I called St. John Door & Window to order the door. They told me the same thing they did for the window. That they would go there and measure and order the door. They gave me a quote over the phone of $625.00 to remove the old door and install the new. I thought that was high but I do not live there and I needed it done before my renters showed up in January. I called them in November to see if they have installed the door? They called me back and said that they have the door and will be out there next week to install. OK, Im still good. Now I get a bill from the condo because my storm door was so loose the glass was hanging out and they had to remove the glass so it didn't fall out and break. The week that St. John was supposed to install my door they called me and said that they went out to install the door and they had ordered a bronze colored door by mistake not a white door like ALL the other doors there at the complex. So they have to order the right color. Last week, the first week of Janurary I called St. John Door again because I have not heard anything. I do not know who I talked to but he was extremely rude! I explained the whole situation to him and he said I ordered the wrong color last time! He called me back and said that they have my door and will install it next week. I asked if it was white? He said very rudely "NO! It's Red!" Then when I said thank you he abruptly hung up the phone. They are very rude!!!! I will never use this company again and I will spread the word with the other condo owners. I just received an invoice for $662.50. So expensive!! read more

1 year after having windows installed in condo & putting it up for sale we find out the permit expired without ever being closed by st johns. They took care of it but demanded in the most ugly way that we pay the 53.00. We paid 8,000 for the windows, installation & permits according to their paperwork. However, 1 of the owners, geoff, started screaming on the phone & threatened to out a lien on the property for 53 dollars. Really? A little screwy if you ask me. I had a warranty issue with a couple of doorlight in sliding glass doors supplied by PGT Industries. PGT told me that they would provide the replacement glass at no charge, and that I should get one of their dealers to provide the labor. They suggested St. Johns Window & Door. I contacted St. Johns Window & Door and asked for a labor estimate. The estimate was to be free. One of their installers came out to look at the sliding glass doors, I was told that St. Johns Window & Door would call me with an estimate. I at no time gave anyone at St. Johns Window & Door any authorization to provide any work for this job. Three months later, I was texted that the glass was in and I should schedule the installation. Since I was never provided any estimate, I asked for the "free" labor quote. I thought that the quote that they then gave to replace two pieces of glass was exorbitant. I told St. Johns Window & Door that I'd have another glass company install the glass, and that I'd have it picked up. At that time I was told by a manager at St. Johns Window & Door that I'd need to pay $200.00 before they would release the glass that they were never authorized by me to get from PGT Industries. The manager at St. Johns Window & Door was terribly rude, and would not try to accommodate me in any way. Terrible experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere if you need glass work done in St Augustine. read more

Great service. Our 30 year old sliding glass doors no longer slid. They ground along their tracks only when I put my shoulder into pushing them with lots of effort. I was afraid I'd have to replace them. But St John's Door sent a pair of polite, knowledgeable techs to repair our doors and now they glide like new. They called ahead by 30 minutes to alert us, were prompt, efficient, and exceeded my expectations. This the second time we've used SJD and we have been very satisfied on both occasions. read more

We have had 2 occasions to use this company. The owner, John, visited our condo a few months ago to give us a bid on a screen installation. He was VERY informative and low key. In fact, he more or less talked us out of buying the screens as a practical point. He made no sale, spent over half an hour with us and left with a smile. We then called him a week ago to talk about a sliding door project we were considering. He called back promptly, was very knowledgeable and down to earth. He calls things exactly as he sees them, even if it doesn't always lead to a sale. This gentleman is a class act and is an honor to the sales profession. read more

Horrible Service, read on for the rest of the story. Called prior October 3rd, 2013, if I remember correctly it was September 24th the first day of contact. I was in need of 11 total window screens. They sent back a quote through email for 11 window screens on October 3rd, 2013. An employee came to my house and measured for the screens letting me know it would be approximately 2 weeks for an install. The same time frame the receptionist told me. On Oct 24th the installer called my cell phone to let me know he was sick and would not be able to make it to my house and asked if he could come the next day, Friday. I obliged and had no issue. He called again on Friday saying he was still sick and needed to come back Monday October 28th. He installed 8 of 11 screens on Monday the 28th of Oct. Two of the screens were a mis-measure and had to be re-cut. Weeks went by so I called back to see what was going on with the job. I then spoke to the owner who put the installer on a 3 way call and tried to straighten out this job. The installer came back the following day, did not install the two screens and said he would call to follow up. Never heard back. At this point I am annoyed with their service. I called the owner yet again, this time, he was rude. He told me my credit card was declined, when I asked him to read the numbers back he had them written down wrong, no wonder it was incorrect. Asking me questions about my screens that I do not know the answers to, etc. Giving me excuse after excuse about why my job is not done. I was told by the President of the company I would hear back from him the next day to settle this, November 19th or 20th. He never called back. I called today, November 25th to settle this and I was treated horribly and told to go somewhere else for the other two screens. Saying he would make sure to tell every company about me, and how much of a pain I am. Wow, I needed 2 window screens made, doesn't sound that difficult. Every employee there seems incompetent, not sure how they even stay in business. He threatened me with his attorney for slander and hung up on me. I simply wanted my job to be complete. read more

Wow, where to start...so I made the grave mistake of hiring this company in late 2010 for an 8 window, 1 door job and pretty much watched everything go down hill from there. Extremely poor communication, as in they started the job and kept not finishing it or coming back so I had to keep calling them up to inquire what was going on. Finally the job was done and instead of giving me a final showing or having me inspect the work I was told to leave them a check in the mailbox and that was the last they ever came out. Come to find out, many things were not done right. They put the door in crooked and then told me, what did I expect, it wasn't their fault my house was built wrong. I didn't even get the peep hole that was supposed to come on the door and which I paid more for, when I asked about it the shop manager laughed and said, your that worried about a peep hole? I can't drill a hole in the door for you right now if it means that much. I also later found out there was water damage in my walls around the windows but instead of telling me this so I could get it all fixed right, they just put the windows in the softening wall. Add that to the fact that they didn't even bother weather sealing the windows in and I had a huge issue just three months later. This company saw a single, young girl as an easy target and did the worst job possible. I hope they go bankrupt and never do another job because I wouldn't want anyone going through what I did. read more

I called this company after having three other companies come to look at a window. The other companies told me it was the caulking that was letting in a little water that was causing the problem. That never repaired the problem. St. John's Door and Window came and the owner spent 30 minutes inspecting different areas of my house and he pointed out the water was coming from my bathroom vent on the same wall as the leak and not the window. It was a free estimate and he didn't earn anything for his help, but still spent the time to find the problem. A handyman came and fixed the vent and agreed the water was coming from there. I had a very pleasant experience with St. Johns Door and window. They repaired a pocket door for me. Technicians were professional and work was done quickly. I had to reschedule and Geoff and folks at the office were happy to help work around my schedule and tenants. I would definitely use them again and refer the company. Geoff called me a liar about the date of installation that I was told by the office manager. He did not believe me. He said it was what I wanted to hear. He proceeded to tell me I was rude for the way I was talking after being told all of this by him. I need the work done by that day because the house is under contract and this is the last repair needed. I said it was the last time we would do work together because his brother John had been rude to my parents before (I believe in second chances and knew they could do the work). Geoff proceeded to tell me he was having a bad morning and he wouldn't let me ruin it. I apologized if I offended him so that he would calm down and do the work. I attempted to take the high road. He continued to tell me I was rude and would not calm down or attempt to recover. He said he would call me when ready to do the work and held it over me like it might not even happen. After not hearing back and absorbing what had happened (I was in shock at his words), I called to tell him it was best he did not do the repair after his rudeness and condescending towards me. He then insulted my work ethic and called me the biggest pain in the ass. What person, much less a man says that to a female client? I held my ground and absolutely told him to go fly a kite. He then called my husband to say I was a liar. I have never in my life ever had a business person call me a liar and a pain in the ass. Do not ever use these two men. Their treatment of a customer is disgusting. I contacted them daily for updates on the delivery of parts, to confirm the date of repair, and then this treatment. Save your money for someone who will appreciate you and respect you as a customer and not call you a liar when you are trying to get the job done. read more

Asked for an estimate for window replacements, estimator came and left, I was waiting for the estimate but had heard nothing. So after ~ a week I called the company and the phone person said that "John" estimated the job and would call me, its been a week and haven't heard anything. If they don't want this job then just say so, I won't waste their time and they won't waste mine. read more
