Elegant Driving school make's it there mission to fully give you all the knowledge about driving, rules of the road and what it takes to not only pass the road test but to build confidence an the skills to become a Great driver long after the road test. This is what separates Elegant from other schools . I earned my CDL class B , and my driving instructor was Raphael who showed an immense amount of patience and determination to helping me through all the lessons and just making me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I will also like to thank the support of the lady who works at the office who (I apologize I don't remember Her name off the top of my head) big shoutout to you guys for the support and not giving up on me when I struggled to feel confident ,you guys truly showed Elegance.

I mainly took this lesson to supplement for when my current instructor can't take me for lessons, is busy, etc. The Elegant driving school instructor, Hyra was unreceptive to any form of driving that isn't the way he does it. He explicitly told me hand over hand is unacceptable, EVEN while turning which is completely untrue. In fact, it's the preferred method according to many driving experts. I would not recommend Elegant Driving school or their services to anyone.

The very first day it took 3 hours to get situated into a class because the substitute (Ms. N) for the original instructor (Mr. Ortiz) was not ready for the class. She couldn't get a hold of a computer to print the materials. In those 3 hours I was still waiting at the reception area for them to find out which class I was registered to. On the very first day we were told that we would be ready for the midterms, the final and the NHA Exam by the end of the course. So of course my expectations were high. I was not on the roster until week 3. I had to write my name under everyone else and take pictures for proof just incase they tried to say I was not attending. The first 2 weeks we did not have the correct instructor. We never started the classes on time. I learned more in class about war and about the teacher and her personal problems than I did about drawing blood or placing electrodes on a patient. If we were given a test on her life we would ace it. I had to skip lunch break stay in the classroom and teach myself. I had to go home and break night going to sleep around 2-3 am teaching myself because we were not learning anything in class. We took more breaks than we read chapters. When it came to reviewing for the tests and midterms Ms. N would just go through the test itself and basically give us the answer instead of giving us material to study from. Ms. N is very knowledgeable but she is clearly not ready to be an instructor. Then finally the correct instructor came for the last 2 weeks. I was expecting for the students to get some of their money back since there was a substitute for the first 2 weeks (because to request Mr. Ortiz you have to pay extra). Ortiz is definitely a better instructor. He is detailed, organized and straight to the point. But the curriculum forces them to only teach what is going to be on their test/midterm/final. We never finished the book. We left over 3 to 4 Chapters in both the EKG and Phlebotomy books untouched. We even had to redo both the quiz and the midterm. Me teaching myself by reading the books, making notes and preparing a study guide on things I thought were going to be on the exams assured that I pass both classes without having to cheat like the majority of both classes did. This training center is good at teaching how to perform the tasks of drawing blood and placing electrodes for an ekg but not good at preparing students for the exams. Some students were not well prepared or knowledgeable and somehow managed to be certified. I finished my 4 weeks not ready for the NHA which we were told they would prepare us for. For the amount of money I had to pay for this course I can truly say it was not worth it. I really believe it's very unfair that we were not refunded some of our money back. Oh and the certificates come together as one certificate, you have to pay to have 2 individual certificates imagine how money hungry this "school" really is without providing quality. I would not recommend.

I must say it was not always smooth sailing, but no place is perfect. My professors held me accountable for doing my part, they are smart, dedicated and approachable. I have put in the work that my professors set out for me, as every student should, and accomplished what I set out to do. See for yourself, and remember this is a school that is preparing you to have a professional career, think critically and make wise choices In life, if this is not your goal then, this is not the school for you. Recently, we received an email stating that students are not permitted to enter classrooms before the scheduled class time so that instructors can "prepare the learning environment." However, in reality, many professors arrive exactly at the start time or even after class is supposed to begin. Meanwhile, students are expected to stand in hallways or find somewhere else to go even when we arrive early after work to study. The only alternative spaces are the library or cafeteria, both of which have very limited seating. It feels unreasonable to pay out of pocket for an education and not even be allowed to sit in an empty classroom while waiting. We then received another email about elevator use, which is understandable for accessibility reasons. However, the message stated that misuse could result in parent/guardian contact. This is a school of adults, and many of us are parents ourselves. Including language like that clearly shows how little the administration thinks of its students and reinforces the feeling that we are treated like children rather than responsible adults paying for a professional education. Another major concern is the lack of respect and support from some faculty members. For example, Professor Jayne Kier is extremely unapproachable. Students feel uncomfortable asking questions because responses are often sarcastic, dismissive, or met with long, intimidating stares. There is little guidance provided, yet students are made to feel as though they are wrong for seeking help. This creates a stressful and discouraging learning environment. Lastly, it often feels like students cannot safely voice concerns. When issues are brought up to administration, they are dismissed as complaints rather than taken seriously even though many of us are committed, adult learners who care deeply about our education and future careers. It is incredibly disappointing to be treated this way as paying adult students. We invest our time, energy, and money into this program, yet we are treated as if we are receiving a free service and should simply accept it without question. The tone and treatment are not only disrespectful, they are humiliating.

If you are reading this, you are most likely debating on which school to attend. I implore you to read my review in its entirety; I believe I'll make some really good points and convince you to consider this school. Your goal should be attending an accredited school that will give you the paperwork (certificate) you need in order to take the registry exam, and that is it. It's not about "the best of the best" school, or the one with the top accreditation. All you should be caring about is the school that is going to get you to the point that matters, which is the registry exam, and a school that will provide appropriate clinical rotations. Look no further, this school has everything (except good machines, more on that later). Firstly, Dr. Nand is the president and owner of this establishment. He maintains the Council on Occupational Education, which is an accreditation accepted by the ARDMS. He also has plentiful connections with almost all hospitals, and can get you into the really good hospitals for your clinical rotations (i.e. NY-Pres Columbia). He's also the SWEETEST man alive, and is genuine for your well being. He is there to help, he wants you to do well. Other schools have accreditation in CAAHEP, which is a well known accreditation. But be warned, schools with this type of accreditation have tuition fees of $65K+. Can you afford that? I chose NYMedCareerTrainingCntr for many reason, and it was the cost of the school that was the most appealing, to be honest. When I attended, the full program cost me $29K. This fee may increase due to economy-related issues and rent/insurance costs, etc. But that is a big plus. They also have payment plans. Tuition includes your uniform, and textbooks. Did you hear me?? TUITION INCLUDES YOUR UNIFORM AND TEXTBOOKS!! All other schools make you pay for your textbooks separate (and the uniform as well), and these books are $200 each. You are saving A LOT of money. Please note, you will have to pay your tuition in full before you start your clinical rotations. --Edit: I apparently ran out of space because I rambled. If anyone has a question regarding this school, I'm more than happy to share my experience. just message me-- I'll continue my review but make it ultra condensed since there is a word limit here. Now, a BIG plus... when you finally get to clinicals and have keep to a log of what you scanned, all you have to do it write the date, time, and a one-word description on the type of scans you did. THAT'S IT! Many other schools will force you to write a full description of each patient you see and/or need proof of this. Many school will require you to scan a certain amount of arteries/veins in order to graduate. You might think that's actually a good thing. No it's not. Because in the real world, when you start your clinicals, you may not get to see patients for arteries/veins. You may not get to see liver transplants. It depends on your site. You want the school to delay your graduation because you didn't see enough echo, head, or TCD? Complete your sheet, send them it, call it a day. I wish the school clarified how to have your CV signed, which is paperwork required to take the ARDMS. If you want to take your registry in vascular, you'll have to have a tech licensed in RVT to sign your CV... so this means, don't pick a clinical site that focuses on pediatric if your goal is to get an RVT because the likelihood of the technicians there that have and RVT are slim, and you will not be able to take your RVT registry due to the missing signature for a licensed tech... so be mindful of the sites you choose. Some negatives with this school: Machines are garbage, and there was a lot of cheating going on with no repercussion for these students. I was outraged by this. Sangay, the man responsible for finding you a clinical site, moves at the pace of snails. So you'll have to stay on top of him. There is no echo in this school :( And yes, I graduated this great school, was prepared enough to earn my ARDMS in abdomen, and I now work in a hospital. Dr. Ayub, if you're reading this, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! I'll always remember you! Wishing you and Dr. Nand, the best of health.
