A four star vetting? Far from it. It's dirty and unsafe. You're putting your kids at risk by sending them here. There's never enough staff, and the staff they do have, many are not licensed or being reviewed by the licensing agency for misconduct. Most of the good teachers left out of frustration. Few good ones are still left, are paid a few Pennie's over minimum wage, and have had enough. More recently, they chose to keep around a teacher that was accused of abusing 3 (THREE!) infants by another teacher because they "felt it couldn't be true". Only when parents called corporate was it actioned on. Before enrolling, try reaching out to the families who've left to get their honest reviews. I'm sure you can find them easily. I wish someone told me all this when I enrolled. It's expensive, one of the most expensive areas in the area, and has the worse reputation in the neighborhood. Run. Your welcome. read more

awful corporate owned daycare, meaning they do not pay their teachers well and parents are dealing constant tuition increases. i sent my son here for 5+ years and i am so glad to be done with this place. within the last year, this daycare has had incidents where a young child was left locked in the outside playground in the hot summer for over an extended time (over 40+ mins) without anyone realizing he was missing. a few weeks later, my son was involved in an incident that was reported to Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) where a teacher was reported to be handling my toddler son aggressively. after investigation, i learned this teacher had been disciplined 3x for the same reason and no action was taken by the director. the final straw was the director not notifying me of the incident (had to find out from OCFS) and she was not even being apologetic. a red flag for anyone considering KC is there is a big open house sign in front of kindercare promoting they have open availability because most of the parents i know pulled their child from kindercare after the incident with my son. any decent daycare is going to be fully booked because of childcare staffing shortages and parents being diligent about not cutting corners when it comes to finding the right care for their baby. google "MANHASSET KINDERCARE OCFS" and check for yourself. read more

My daughter attended Manhasset KinderCare for over 2 years. Ever since the new director Ms. Cory took over (2018?), it's been fantastic. She is a hands-on director truly dedicated to her profession. She's always checking in on classrooms and teachers, filling in whatever role is needed, and handling any situation with a smile. Ms. Christine, the assistant director, is just as fantastic. I love the transparency and open communication--they use an app to log your children's activities throughout the day; you can call anytime to talk to the teachers or directors; you can drop in anytime (pre-Covid). Teachers are warm, fun, and attentive; they give concrete, detailed feedback during evaluations. My daughter adored her preschool and preK teachers. She really missed them when NY went into Covid lockdown. The facility is clean and the classrooms are well stocked with enough toys but not overwhelming. Activities are varied and stimulating, even though they're confined within the daycare grounds. This is a full-time, for-profit daycare, so it's pricey. But they do almost everything for you--breakfast, lunch, potty train, sunblock, etc. The hours are incredible (6:30am-7pm!). If you need a flexible, reliable, full-time daycare for your child, you can't find much better. read more

First of all, for those claiming Kindercare pays to remove negative reviews, learn to read. Yelp clearly states at the top "As a reminder, businesses can't pay to alter or remove their reviews." Nice try though. But honestly, read all of the reviews (as tough as some may be to comprehend) and then read mine, and then here's a wild thought... go visit, interview families, do a trial and god forbid, form your own opinion! I know, I know a foreign concept in today's society. So here's an honest review from a parent who has children in this day care for the last 4 years. I have had 1 daughter in this place since the day it opened 4 years ago when she was 3 months old, and another for the last year, who was also enrolled when she was 3 months old. Now, you must remember that while no facility is perfect and no person is perfect, the majority of the families have had their kids attending here for years, and multiple kids at that. They follow a great curriculum, train their teachers well, and have great leadership to support all that goes on. Are all of the teachers at the same level of DOE teachers, no! But tell me, what daycare does have a full staff of master's level experienced teachers and can afford to pay them and stay open? Are the teachers here paid what they deserve, absolutely not, but that is less of a Kindercare issue and more of a NY issue. Despite that, these teachers bust their butts everyday for our kids and I could not be more grateful. They are more than open to feedback and suggestions at every single level and with all of the transparency, I have not worried a single day in the last 4 years while my kids have been attending. Do accidents happen occasionally? Of course, and unless you want to wrap your kid in bubble wrap, kids will be kids and it's a part of typical growth and development. The hours are great, the numerous activities and events scheduled throughout the month keep the kids excited and motivated, and all the while parents get a peace of mind. Before reading the 3 Negative Nancy's reviews (because we all know people usually only take the time to say something when they are unhappy) take solace in the fact that there are just 3 negative reviews! With all of the kids enrolled in that daycare and how long their wait list is, rest assured that your kid will be in good hands and learn a lot which help get them ahead of the curve heading into Kindergarten. My son has attended KinderCare since he was 1.5 years old, and we are thrilled with our experience. KinderCare Manhasset has the structure of a professional, corporate daycare practice, married with the love and nurture of a smaller family. I always feel that my son is in great hands with his teachers, the extended staff, and the Directors. We have an open line of communication and are very looped in to the activities that he's doing every day - from Phonics, to Soccer, to arts and crafts, and playtime with friends. We love KinderCare so much, we will be sending our newborn son there later this year. read more

My son has been going to KC since he was 18 months. He has loved it from the beginning. He has had 4 different teachers (2 for each classroom) and they all have been loving and nurturing. He is very verbal now and has never expressed anything but happiness about being there and is very caring towards his teachers. Yes, there are incidents with other kids because they are still learning how to express their feelings and interact with each other. Yes, he has gotten sick many times but that is normal for any child beginning daycare. What I really care about is that the management has clear and transparent policies that are not only communicated often but also enforced. They are fair and are always thinking about the well-being of all of the kids. This is important to me because I want my child safe and healthy and one exception to a policy, like allowing a fevered child to stay, can cause a slew of sicknesses in the classroom. So I am more than happy to follow their policies and hope all other parents are as respectful. If you have any doubts about this place, I suggest you go in for a visit and talk to Cory, the Director, and ask her the hard questions. That is the only way to know if this center is right for your child and your family. For many reasons, it is a no-brainer for my family and I have never felt disappointment or regret about the decision we made. You can't beat the hours for the price and it's walking distance to the Manhasset stop. We rent a parking space in the back lot. read more

This is an amazing daycare center. The Teachers all go above and beyond for each of our children. They care for our children like their own and our kids love them back the same. I hate leaving my kids every day but I'm happy to know they are having a great time and learning with people who care about them. The staff is super responsive to our every request and concern. Avoid this place at all costs! Kids are expected to behave like obedient paychecks, and immediately asked for parents to be picked up even at the most minor incidents. This school clearly doesn't have properly trained staff and the director who runs this place is a pure business-minded person who doesn't really care about having deep connections with the kids. We currently have two kids enrolled in the center and have been a part of the center since it opened. One child is currently enrolled in Pre-K and has been with the center since 12 weeks old. The other is in the Toddler classroom and has been with the center since 14 weeks old. The experience we have had has been wonderful - the management team always has their door open for questions, concerns or just generally to talk about anything related to your children. The teachers are caring, affectionate, are interested in the children's development and treat the children as their own. We couldn't be happier with the care they receive and couldn't be more confident in the abilities of the teachers to create a fun and educational environment for which the children learn in. read more
