This is by far the city's BEST mini golf courses!!! Each hole has its own unique design and popular theme, me and my friend spent way too much time just having fun on their skee ball hole. The different holes makes it feel like you can literally interact with it and not just hitting the ball and moving on. We arrived before the huge crowd and were able to take our time with each course, but once the evening crowd comes, it gets packed in there. But you will be able to reserve a time slot online. The business also provides various themed escape rooms, unique pinball machines, and a bookshelf of board games while you're waiting on your time slot. Nice for an hour or so fun. We purchased a Groupon for 6 for about $50 and redeemed it on their website. It was cheaper to do that than it was to pay for 5. The reservation platform is simple to use, but they do charge a $3 booking fee in addition to your Groupon. 14 holes (not 18) and several are a bit challenging and would be too difficult for small kids. I have been here many times! I LOVE the art on the walls of the mini golf course. The pin ball machines are also great. The mini golf is really fun; however, my only deduction of a star is that some of the labeling is confusing for the holes and could be improved. I recently came here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. As a first-time escapist, I was unsure of what to expect from the experience. Our group included four people and we signed up for Blackbeard's Revenge- a medium difficulty pirate-themed room. Once we arrived, we checked in at the front desk. We were provided with access to lockers to store personal belongings, including cell phones as they are not allowed inside of the escape rooms. A few minutes later, our group was called by the game master and escorted to our room. Once inside, the game master sprung into character to set the scene and to provide a quick run-through of the instructions. After giving the ready, our one hour countdown began. The puzzles in the room were cleverly developed to be challenging yet intuitive, which made the experience engaging for everyone in the room. If we got stuck, our gamemaster provided just the right amount of clues to help get us back on track. We successfully completed the room just under time in 58 minutes. Overall, I enjoyed this experience and am already looking forward to trying 1 of the 6 other escape rooms. read more

I recently went to St. Louis escape room for a birthday and had a great time! You can book an escape room for groups of up to 8. Once you arrive, there are lockers for you to place things like your phone and bags. Our game master came to greet us and stayed perfectly in character the whole time. We picked a pirate themed room, and she shared the premise of the escape room which is to solve little puzzles with the goal of escaping out of all of the rooms. You have an hour to solve all the puzzles and if you get stuck, you are allowed to ask for clues twice. The game master watches from above and prompted us to pay attention to different things without giving away the puzzle. There are other themed rooms including scarier Dracula themed ones and film based rooms like Jurassic Park. Located in the same area are also pinball machines, mini golf, and other arcade games that you can play before or after your escape room. We came here with a couple friends and did an escape room. They have a bunch to choose from which is awesome. They don't change so you can only really do them once. The prices are super fair. They are challenging which is awesome. The workers seemed like they do this all day, everyday, so felt a little condescending when working through the puzzles. They have tons to drink in the lobby but they only allow a certain bottle type so you can't really drink when you do the escape room. Cool experience and we'll definitely be back but the attitude of the people and the rules were a little strict. read more

We wanted to check out this glow in the dark mini golf that kept popping up on our socials so we booked it via St. Louis Escape. The venue is a few buildings away from Soulard Farmer's Market so parking was a nightmare. I think the parking for the venue is behind the building somehow but you'd have to go down a shady alley or head towards the highway and turn somehow to get to it so parking was an immediate frustration for us. Once inside, we were greeted with high METAL steps. These stairs are not for anyone with bad knees or bad physical shape. I don't know if there was an ADA entrance. Once we made our hike up the two flights of metal stairs, we barely found the check-in desk. We let the cashier know we were there for our outing. She handed us some score cards and pencils and pointed towards where we needed to go. I could barely hear her over the noise inside. So we wandered to the mini golf area. The paintings and sculptures for the mini golf course were beautiful and dead on. I felt the venue was perfect for kids instead of adults due to the swing space allowance. I was underwhelmed by the size/room to swing my putter. I tripped on a lot of the courses because it was narrow. Other than that, it's a cool spot that I wish was wider and in a better part of town. read more

We took an office team trip here for the day -- our boss worked with them to open early just for our group. We had THE BEST time!! The escape rooms are fun... we did a couple different ones -- loved Jurassic Park!! The video games were so nostalgic and awesome, and we had a blast with the indoor mini golf! If you're into escape rooms, you need to add this to your list of ones to experience! We had a group of 4 in early October to kick off the spooky season, and opted for Dracula room. First of all, it was the largest and most spacious in comparison to other ones I've been to. I can get a bit claustrophobic in small escape rooms, so was pleasantly surprised at the roominess. Also, there were 4 different rooms in this one escape experience to navigate through. My niece was so impressed she compared it to Disney level animatronics and design in the rooms. As far as the difficulty level, the website denotes which rooms are good for different levels of difficulty. We had a blast. I want to check out the other rooms now! My favorite escape room experience! The special effects are amazing. The set designs are to the level of Disney. The games are well thought out. This is the ultimate escape room experience! I've been a few times before and can't believe I had not yet reviewed. This experience was the Haunted Hotel. To be truthful this was my second time in this room and I still felt like I was confused. With the lights and noises going on around me it is hard to totally focus on the game. What should be simple is complicated. Anxiety builds. I can't give much away but.... Wow! NOTE: this is on the second floor of an old factory building. The stairs up are steep and long. I am not sure about handicap access. Also there is a parking lot across the street. Parking is $1 per hour. People have been ticketed in the lot. Our room monitor was Destiny. She did an exceptional job with the clues and the overall experience. I've brought my friends from out of town here. It ranks up there with the Arch and Brewery Tour as a St Louis must-do attraction. Well done!!! read more

Have done many escape rooms including this location prior. Honestly 4 stars for the escape rooms including itself. Great setup for the most part. A few of the things were unintentionally impossible-spoiler-getting a key from inside certain props was damn near impossible and code given by a light was not interpretable by all 6 members(way too fast). But overall the mechanisms were in good working order. The decor was excellent. Puzzles were of appropriate difficulty with great "aha" moments. One star for customer service. When we arrived, took several minutes for a host. When he did show up we were greeted with "can I help you or are you just hanging around?" Checked us in but then no direction on the lockers, where to wait etc. Got to the room on time. The room host could not be heard and neither could the instructional video be heard. Therefore we ended up breaking "rules" throughout the experience like moving furniture, not knowing where or how to get help. When we did need clues, it took several minutes to get help and it was pretty useless because they didn't know what we needed help with-they clearly weren't paying attention to our room and didn't have audio to interact with us. Like I said, I've done more than 15 of these things and this is NOT the usual experience. At one point my husband got frustrated it was taking so long to get help he was waving the "need a clue" sign at the camera trying to get attention. The host called through the speaker, "how can I help you rude guy"? Like ummmm...ok. We did get out and tried to give some feedback back to the hosts who came to meet us including that one participant was cut on an exposed nail. They kind of shrugged and had no concern at all. Then they never offered to take a pic of our group, which again, is pretty standard. Tried to do the mini golf with our group after but told it was closed for the night. Also a bummer. Overall we would go again but there needs to be a few tweaks and staff education read more

We were visiting from out of town and looking for a pinball arcade, and we found "St. Louis Pinball" on Google, and we wanted to check it out. There was no phone number to be found on the website to call and confirm if they were open which was frustrating. Then after more searching on their address, it appeared to be part of St. Louis Escape. I called St. Louis Escape to confirm if that's where the pinball machines are and if they're open, and they said yes. Upon arrival, we saw that each pinball game cost $1.00 requiring 4 quarters. There was a machine to change cash into quarters, but there was no ATM nor other ways to get cash to get quarters to play pinball. (and there was no card system to load a card with funds to play pinball) The website makes no mention that you must bring cash to play the pinball games (and the St. Louis Pinball website would be better if it mentioned that it's co-located at St. Louis Escape). I was lucky to have a $10 bill on me to play, but for the many people who just don't carry cash on them these days, beware. As for the pinball machines, they were well-maintained and functioning, and the facility was clean, but the hassle around needing cash but not having any heads-up in advance about it was frustrating. I suppose next time I'll know to ask about cash before going to a new arcade. read more

We did the Oz room for our 9 yr old granddaughter's bday. It was a lot of fun. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is old style pinball machines, mini golf. Beware, steep stairs to get up to it. There is a freight elevator somewhere. Our room was fun, we made it out, with help from the clue master. It is a little dark in the rooms, so some sort of light might help and if you wear readers, don't forget them! Loads of fun! read more

Being a couple of '80s kids who love miniature golf, we were excited to see Silly Putter Mini Golf, and looked forward to hitting the links under the gaze of our favorite '80s stars. We gave it our best shot, but it was...underwhelming, to say the least. Turns out, there's probably a reason for their all-caps disclaimer of NO REFUNDS. There's nothing extravagantly bad about it; it's just not good: 18 frames crammed into a space the size of a grade school gym, with just as many kids running around, and trip hazards everywhere, under a blacklight. Granted, I imagine it's better when you're not forced to wait for the entire Von Trapp family to finish playing through each round, especially when they don't get how par works and they do 17 strokes apiece. And some of the designs are kinda cool, but then there are ones like the Pac-Man board that consist of a huge wooden maze with no shortcuts (red flag: par 5), the elephant cage with a razor-thin slot to aim for, or the bowling alley seemingly designed to guarantee gutter balls. While most mini golf links emphasize geometry and precision, this one seems to rely on silly gimmicks that don't translate well to gameplay; it's as if the design aspect took precedence over the basic mechanics of the game, and physics went out the window. We just hopped around the open frames until we got bored and split. Bonus points for the cash arcade with no ATM. It's a high concept with a sub-par execution, like a mini golf course inside a Planet Hollywood. What sucks is that it has potential, but it missed the mark; someone just got a bunch of Day-Glo paint and Showbiz Pizza carpeting and went to town. Don't lemme stop ya, of course, but caveat emptor. read more

I am an avid pin enthusiast and was extremely impressed with not only the selection, but how the games were maintained and set up for play. The pinball collection is simply amazing in terms of having the very best titles of the latest new generation games! This place did not skimp with 10+ limited edition Stern games and even a JJP Elton John! This is my first visit to St. Louis and found this place on the pin map app, while doing the typical tourist things downtown. I've been to many pin places but this is one of the very best in the US. Great location with plenty on street parking right in front. There are stairs to go up to the lobby, but they probably have an elevator just ask. They seemed a little understaffed, but we didn't mind because we just figured they were setting up the rooms (I'm sure some people tear rooms apart). You can tell someone put a lot of thought into every part of this business. There are board games, pinball machines and even mini golf you can add on. The person who took us to our room did an amazing job setting up the experience (Jurassic Park). Of course we used all our clues and more, but that's what we enjoyed about this business; you can make it as challenging or ask for help for your level of play. We definitely wouldn't be on the leader board, because we asked for help, but we went for the fun and not the competition :) we also played mini golf and it was the BEST original mini golf we have played!! This was one of the most intense and involved escape rooms I've done. We did the Jurassic Park escape room. I don't want to post pictures to ruin the surprises of the escape room, but they went all out in the aesthetic and it was so cool. They even had dinosaurs animatronics! I felt the difficulty of this escape room was pretty high, done of the clues were a bit difficult, but they weren't unreasonable or didn't make sense. There was only one part where we felt the clue wasn't fair (which is typical for an escape room). You only get three hints throughout the game and the person giving you the clues acted their part as a character in the game. The whole thing was pretty intense so I wouldn't advice this for younger children. The animatronics jump out at you in parts and it's very loud. Stress levels were pretty high throughout (in a good way) and we got out just in time which in my opinion is a sign of a good escape room. There was only one puzzle that was slightly broken at the end, but the clue master immediately told us (while staying in character) that we did it right and to do it again. (The clue master isn't in the room with you they talk over a pa system). You can't bring your phone into the room with you, but they have lockers to put your stuff into. They also have a ton of board games to play while you wait to enter the room. Overall it was super fun and I would totally go again, especially during Halloween for a scarier one. Also huge epilepsy warning. A TON of flashing lights all over. read more

Several puzzles were broken and did not work as intended even after being solved several times. Host had to stop the game, apologize, and explained what SHOULD have been happening if things were working correctly. Magnetic locks on drawers and doors did not function properly. The Host kept coming over the PA system with "clues" that we DID NOT ASK FOR and basically flat-out told us exactly how to solve our current puzzle. This was an extremely frustrating process that completely ruined our date night. When I asked for a refund, I was brushed off and given an email address to contact, but nobody has gotten back in touch with me. EDIT: I got an email from the owner today. This person believes that I am lying about how often the Host was giving unprompted clues. I'm sure most of the Hosts are totally professional and don't do this, but ours would not shut up and kept telling us what we needed to do next. It was very annoying. I don't know why the owner believes I would make this up. Owner also believes that even if a lot of the tech did not function correctly, that does not spoil the game because the Host was able to tell what what should have happened and lead us onto the next puzzle - as if that does not totally break the immersion of the experience! Doing anything they can to deny responsibility. Bad games are going to happen - we're all human. It's very sad to see a person that can't take accountability. Go if you want, but please beware - if anything goes wrong, do not expect anyone at this facility to have your back. They stopped caring about you right after they got your money. read more

This was my 3rd visit to St. Louis Escape. Every room feels like you are on a Hollywood movie set. The hosts are amazing. They know exactly when to encourage you to continue with clues and gently guide you without taking the fun of solving the clues yourself away. Our recent visit was for Pirates Cove and Slade was an amazing host. He plays a great pirate and after the game he even explained a clue we skipped over (we guessed a 5 letter word to open a lock without the clues) and the last puzzle that we struggled with. The decor was great. Seemed like they spent a lot of time on the decorations. Did Wrathnof the Mummy. However, our group had done escape room in past. This one had issues. Puzzles seemed more like luck of finding something rather than following clues. Some things were broken, so we are not sure if someone just opened next door or clue because they were watching us. Some things seemed impossible to do with the 4 people in our group, as to many hands were needed to actually get some things to work. Game master ignored us once when we asked for clue.
