Very disappointed as I heard so many good reports on the place…read more Me and two males went On a Sunday afternoon last summer. The young girl behind the bar didn't t know any thing about the wines. They are completely over priced . Having such a large menu must mean a lot of wine wastage or serving wine that's been open for too long which is most likely the reason why it's so expensive. The food was not that nice. The pork scratching s were too hard and felt like they were in the freezer they were so cold. The portions were small and we had a few different wines bill came to about€100 . Not worth it. No atmosphere.

Well it was cosy, just like before, but very small, it seems they just have the downstairs right now, so there were only 3 or 4 tables in the whole place, then the bar and some side counter seats. I wanted to love this place, I really did, I loved the French- ness of it, the artisan food plates on offer, the major thing that let the place down was the seating. I'll explain, the tables are small but that is no biggie, it's the fact all the tables are lower than the seats forcing you to crouch over if your on the bench, and because its small there are few seats you can sit on to fix this problem. Honestly the service was good, I loved that they did flytes of wine ( tasting sizes) and the food was good, I especially loved the pizzette, and he meat and cheese plate we ordered.BUT,,,, we would have stayed all longer had it been more comfortable. So hopefully the owners will see this and re think the seating. I know they a not open long, and perhaps are ironing out a few things. I know they also do wine tasting and classes, and there is DEF a space for this kind of place here in cork, I wish it the best, and you will see us again, and often if you get the seats fixed!

Definitely consider making reservations because the restaurant gets quite busy during peak times. I chose to go with the fish pie and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We left with our tummies full and satisfied! Make sure you make this part of your Cork stops.

Visited for two consecutive nights 18/02 and 19/02 2026. The first night I had two appetizers,…read moreAtlantic prawn and crab sandwich, and a dessert of Ferrero Roche cheese cake. The second night I had an appetizer of seafood chowder and the John Dory fish. The cheese cake was unique, , very satisfying taste of cocoa, and the crunchy and gritty texture really felt like Ferrero Roche. For the other dishes I found something interesting. The prawns and crab sandwiches tasted standard, but the oily sauce (prawns) and the sweet and sour puree (crab sandwiches) had exquisite flavor that made one want to finish them all with a piece of bread (which I did). On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side. In general I enjoyed my experience, but I wonder if they could match the quality of the sauce and the main ingredients better :)
