You know why I like this church? Because as a kid, every Sunday after service, you could walk across the street to the giant rectory and they would give out enormous amounts of free juice, coffee, and DONUTS.
Each week, a family would volunteer to host it. I don't think the families themselves paid for the food and drinks - but they had to set it up and serve everyone. It was great. My family did this a bunch. It was a great social event for the townsfolk.
I was here a few years back, visiting the old place. Still gorgeous. Still kept up immaculately.
It was one of my memories from childhood I will remember forever. I wonder if they still carry on this tradition... read more
