My brother was at this facility and I have to admit I was probably the worst family member they have ever dealt with. I was not ready to make the decisions that he needed me to make because he could not make them for himself and I struggled to do what he would have wanted. The staff deserve an award strictly for dealing with me and my craziness LOL. I wish I was better with names, but the nurse in charge had the patience of a saint. She talked me off the ledge more times than I could count. To all the nurses, aids and respiratory I'm sorry for giving yall a hard way to go. Thank you for everything you did for my brother and my family he received the best care I could ever ask for while there.

My mother told the nurses multiple times about the fever and they kept telling her "he'll be ok", which wasn't the case because he passed away when he got transported to a different hospital and when they did transport him to a different hospital they told us it was for him to get tests done. But the hospital told us he was not going to make it far. I don't understand what type of place does things like this to people who are humans and to the families. Regina (head of nurse) has not contacted us.

A starting point for a beloved family member, who never made it to Jefferson . . . This hospital was not clean (blood on the floor of a nearby room), the nurses (not the charge one, Dorothy) seemed like they had better things to do, and I don't feel that we were looked in on enough, after the horrific loss we had . . . We appreciated "Dr. K.," who was the last person to try to save "D," may God rest his soul. The doctor was caring (as could be, I suppose), explained the timeline very thoroughly and took his time with each of us. My only big highlight here was for the security team. We parked my SUV in a loading area because we'd never been here before and were out of our minds running in to find our family member who just passed minutes prior . . . We told the security guard (wish I remembered his name) and he happily said he'd move my car. THANK YOU!

Patient Review by: John F…read more Firstly, I want to say that my experience was one of the best I've ever had at any hospital. I don't visit hospitals often, but from the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable. During my checkup and temperature check, the staff made sure I felt at ease. A special thanks goes to Dr. Lucy, who calmly drew my blood more than once and gave me the courage to get through it without screaming or crying. She even gave me a heating pack afterward, which was a really thoughtful touch and made me feel like I had some control over the situation. Knowing I was in such capable hands made me feel safe and cared for. I also want to give honorable mentions to: Tech worker Michelle Lee O (I think that was his name; he was a white-skinned male with a really cool sleeve tattoo) Maggie (a tech worker with around 2 years of experience, if I remember correctly) They all did an excellent job making me feel comfortable while waiting and during my visit. I also want to recognize the unnamed staff who interacted with me respectfully and made me feel heard whether it was part of their job or not, it made a big difference. Overall, I felt listened to, respected, and well taken care of, and I truly appreciate everyone who made my visit so positive.

My son was also a patient back in 2021 here at CHOP in the hematology department due to a platelet disorder. What was a very scary and hard time for us. Doctors always made us feel things would be okay. They constantly showed compassion, comfort and positivity. While also helping educate us on something we knew nothing about as first time, some what young parents. We still have a little piggy flashlight from a doctor who first broke the news to us. She said she had it for about 10 years before she had ever even thought of pursuing a career in this field. He was so fascinated with it and loved it so she let him keep it. It meant so much to us and we still have it until this day. I've literally never taken my child to any other Hospital since birth. You here a lot of horror stories. We was always treated with such care here at CHOP. On 5/3/2026 we came into the emergency department and I wasn't so happy with the interaction with the front desk staff. I know my self from working in Healthcare at Jefferson for over 3 years that having a bad day is possible. In fact it's possible to have a bad day at any work setting. However, it's stI'll not okay to treat people unpleasantly. When we came in someone else was checking in so we had to wait our turn. Usually once they are done they will call for next check in however that person finished up and walked away. I don't just walk up because sometimes they'll say they weren't ready for next. I stood there for about a minute. The woman who was checking out the child ahead just walked away and sat back down. The woman who makes the notes for check in just had her head in the computer which is no problem. She may have been handling something still. I'm so used to someone coming around the desk to greet us and ask what brings us in. after about a minute and a half the woman check the children didn't get up, she didn't look at us, greet us or anything. The lady who takes the notes said "Kids date of birth?" no "hello" or "what brings you in" just "kids date of birth?" she didn't even look at us. It may seem like something silly but the entire emergency room was empty. Only the child ahead who checked in before us. The woman finally gets up and comes around who checks child after I just explained to the woman taking notes what brought us in and ask why are we here. When I explain to her she is speaking in a tone of irritation. It also seems as if she isn't listening. I explained why we are here which is something wedge in between my child gum and front tooth. She asks to see it and ask if I know what it is and I say no it happened at school. She mad a odd facial expression and asked again "What tooth because your not showing me anything" ? I already had stated two times that is was right behind his right front tooth and wedge in between. Again, it just was as if she was showing irritation. Maybe she was having a bad day, or a long one. No greetings. Etc. There is still no excuse for it. Sadly, it was very unpleasant. Especially compared to our experience of years of coming here. The world has changed much. Not greeting or properly addressing people has become very common. It just sucks.
