I went to go see Nasforatu at 4:10 here on Christmas Day…read more I was wearing two pairs of pants and a hoodie that was warm enough for me to feel comfortable outside in. After an hour of the movie, I knew that it was so cold I wouldn't be able to make it. I really didn't want to have to come back to the theater to see the rest of the movie, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to stay in the theater for so long because it was so cold. I googled the movie and I saw that I had an hour and 40 minutes left, so I went outside and I complained to the manager and I had him give me a free pass for another day so I would be able to dress much warmer and see the rest, maybe bring a blanket as well. Heated seat did not really do anything to help my comfort. I Will probably come back This upcoming Sunday around 1:00 p.m to see the rest, But this time I will dress much warmer. The lobby between the entrance and where the movie was was about 20 to 30° warmer than inside where the movie was being played So that was kind of misleading. I also have a complaint about the ability to maneuver inside the theater. I am disabled and I have to have a walker with me most times, and unlike meadowview, Paramount does not have buttons that open and close the door for handicapped individuals. This is the first time I've been to this theater by myself in probably about 10 years and I am not coming back to this theater by myself again because I don't have someone to open the door for me.

I would have given it 4 stars. The weekend 'nightmare alley" was released, my friend and I went to…read moresee it because we're big del Toro fans. For both of us, it was the first time we've seen any movie at the theatre in over a year because of covid. There was a problem with the movie and it stopped playing for a while. The projectionist got it going after a while. Because of the problem, as we left the show, the manager apologized and gave everyone at the movie free passes. That was a decent thing to do. This morning my friend was going to meet me at meadowview to see the new Scream film (today was it's second release date). Wet were going to use the fee passes. When I tried to use my pass, the manager told me I couldn't use a few pass for same movie within it's first two weeks or release. So they compounded the problem with Nightmare Alley and turned it into a different and more annoying problem. I ended up buying my ticket and I had to text my friend who was meeting me so he would be prepared. That seems kind of silly that they give out free passes to fix problems, but the passes have caveats. I doubt I will go to any movie that isn't a new release anyone soon. On another note this is the first time I've been to meadowview theatre some the addition and it's much better. I love how the big screen rivals Paramount's

This rule is so dumb I don't understand why anyone would make this rule. If I got this pass for a previous inconvenience I should be able to use it whenever. I don't blame the employees for doing what they were told but the management and/or the higher ups need to make this regulation more prevalent to the customer. An older black lady named Alysha left in the middle of my order leaving another employee to scramble to finish my order. I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

We had the worst experience with Peggy and her "assistants". The first time we met with Peggy she was very nice and willing to help us make the day perfect. After we signed the contract that all went away. We met with her a few times leading up to the wedding. Her story and pricing would change every time we spoke with her. She told us the contract was out of date and that she does not go strictly off of the contract and that it was just a formality to hold our date. We were told the price we owed which we were fine with. Then the week before the wedding she wanted to meet with us again. Her and her assistant tried to charge us over double the agreed upon price. She was the one who told us when we could get in the Depot the day of the event given the price we paid (Goes by hourly). She told us to come at 2:30pm and then charged us an extra $100 for it. Things she told us came with the rental price we paid she quickly tried to turn around and charge us for. She was very rude and unprofessional. They put together a timeline for the wedding day which was completely opposite of what we had wanted. It only gave us about 10-15 minutes for our ceremony and only 20 minutes for pictures. They were rude when we told them we needed about 20 to 25 minutes for the ceremony, and more time for pictures. Our vendors have said they do not want to do weddings here because of her rudeness and unprofessionalism. She told me for months that they do all the setup, that I was to bring in the decorations and do 1 table to show them how I wanted it and they took care of the rest. The day before the wedding comes and we set up a table and Peggy was so rude to my mom who worked hard on decorations and told her "you don't expect me to do this?". She was nasty about it with mom and told her that there will be a fee if we set anything up. That was not in the contract and Peggy had been telling me for months that this was just something they do. Peggy made so many disrespectful comments about our decorations. We were contracted to have the building until 11pm. At 8:30pm the air was shut off and they were trying to push us out the door. Many of our guests have told us they saw her drinking our beer for our guests. She has posted pictures of our wedding without our consent (and yes, I checked the contract). We contacted the city to get this addressed and they just give us the run around saying meetings are scheduled and we will get a call back within the next few days. We have called multiple times and just keep getting the run around. It is a shame because the money is used for events downtown, but to deal with this kind of person does not make it worth is. She was a nightmare to work with. NEVER AGAIN!

My husband and I enjoyed a great tour on Father's Day Sunday…read more Suzanne, our interpreter, was very thorough and our tour group was small, consisting of only two other adults--shout out to the couple we met from Downers Grove! The tour was about an hour long and was more about the various families who've lived in the house over the past 110+ years rather than Frank Lloyd Wright himself, which was very interesting. If you're visiting a FLW home, there's a good chance you already know something about him, thus there really isn't need to discuss the architect himself in great detail on this tour. It was sad to hear about the many items original to the house that had been stripped from the walls, etc. and sold over the years. Stained glass windows are still out in the world with various owners, as well as fixtures and furniture, but these items can't be repurchased until the mortgage is paid off. Our interpreter said that Christie's Auctions knows where many of the items are now, so hopefully they can get them back down the road. Another Yelp! reviewer mentioned that some light fixtures and paint colors in the home obviously aren't original and they seemed to be bothered by this. Personally, those cosmetic things didn't matter to me. Upgrades are going to happen over the years. There is a boardroom now, and the home is rented for private parties, weddings, and more. The bills needs to be paid and other sources of income are vital to keeping a home like this open to the public. The $20 per person admission fee felt appropriate to me, given that the entry fee is helping to pay down the last remaining $100k left on the original $1.7million montage. Wow. They've come a long way. Wright In Kankakee (WIK) "is the not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright's first prairie style design." All of the volunteers were super friendly and the gift shop had a lot of lovely items for sale. We took a Duffy Electric Boat ride around the Kankakee River afterward. $10 per person for 30 minutes and the ride left from the dock near the Bradley House. All in all, a terrific way to spend and afternoon. Highly recommend.

I had a great tour guide all to myself, which was nice as usually there are many people on tours of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings. There was a bus load of people leaving when I began my tour. This is one of the few venues in Kankakee that offers a blank canvas for special events ranging…read morefrom birthday parties and weddings to trade shows and more. The outside doesn't show it's age as much as the inside, so depending on your event, be prepared to spend money on decor and lighting to detract away from the ceiling, dingy windows and dusty window coverings and grates for air/heat. I was recently here for a winter wedding so it was really warm with all the people inside and heat on but it was drafty in places. The kitchen is a big convenience if you will have catered food. I recommend preparing food off site and bringing in warming cabinets. There is ample counter space as well should you wish to use that for food prep or organizing things for set up. There is a ramp making this place handicap accessible. Be careful with the step to get in and out though for everyone else. The "WOAH" from guests leaving caused a moment of panic because that could easily lead to a twisted ankle or someone falling if older. I don't recall if there was a label or something on the door already saying "WATCH YOUR STEP" but it wouldn't hurt to make your own nice sign to ensure your guests don't injure themselves.

The ballroom is spacious and versatile in use. The stage is a bit sunken back and removed from the main floor, so a concert of panel discussion would suit the space perfectly. The 5-panel mirrored wall to the upper left of the venue is out of place, yet convenient for certain embellishments. We utilized this wall as a backdrop for the candy table, which gave a visual duplication of the 20+ glass vases filled with goodies. The commercial kitchen and storage room are fully enclosed, allowing catering easy access to event yet privacy for prep. The light hardwood floors prove to withstand a 7-minute Electric Slide session for over 50 people. The capacity of around 300 persons is shy, at best. The foyer with 2 double-door entries on either side allow for a good flow: one door in and traffic flows out the other. Unfortunately, the restrooms are outdated and could use a good coat of paint and decor. Plenty of parking in the left lot of along the street at the head of the grass field. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and I'm sure my family would not hesitate to book again.
