Fair Oaks Farmhouse Restaurant & Farm - A Hidden Five-Star Gem!…read more We visited the Fair Oaks Farmhouse Restaurant and Farm, and let me just say -- we were blown away. We came in thinking it would be a simple little farmhouse dining experience, but what we got was nothing short of five-star elegance. The moment we walked in, we were struck by how beautiful and upscale the setting was -- warm, inviting, and unexpectedly refined. The service? Impeccable. Every member of the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of like VIPs. Now the food -- five-star quality across the board. Every bite was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The drinks were crafted with just as much care, and the attention to detail made everything feel elevated. And don't get me started on the homemade ice cream -- absolutely the bomb. Smooth, rich, and fresh. The perfect way to end an already amazing dinner. What started as a casual stop turned into one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. If you're anywhere near northern Indiana, do yourself a favor and make the trip to Fair Oaks Farms. You won't regret it. Fair Oaks Farmhouse Restaurant & Farm - A Hidden Five-Star Gem! Stopped here to charge car and walked into a whole farm world! They have a gas station, museum,…read morehotel, restaurant, working farm! Bathrooms are clean and they have some fresh made treats to purchase. Picked up an egg salad sandwich and little baggies of various cheese. They also had hand pies that I might have to try next time. The egg salad sandwich had very nice soft bread and nice flavor. Would make a stop here again in a heartbeat.

I can't believe I haven't been coming here for years and just discovering this place this year…read more This place is a great family farm for anybody of all ages. Most of the things here are free. Pumpkins that you can pick are at very reasonable prices. Food and drinks are at reasonable prices too as well as other merchandise and other fall related things that go on here. They had a corn maze that I did not check out at all. Visiting the animals was probably one of my favorite things at the farm. It's not jam-packed like a lot of the popular locations. The only downside I would say was that the staff is a little bit untrained especially when it comes to money handling since the one cashier when I was paying for pumpkins didn't know how to count cash even though I gave him exact change. Overall, you should not pass up on this place at all. 4.5 Stars

Dollinger Family Farm does not charge admissions. We have visited for two consecutive years and we…read morewould spend about two hours each time. They have a huge play area with wooden structures such as a school bus, fire truck, and castle. My young girls enjoyed the pretend play on the vehicles and going on the slides. There is also a section with huge stacks that are perfect for climbing and taking group pictures. Some things to take note of: 1) There is a section with plenty of port-a-potties. We were there in the morning so the port-a-potties were all relatively clean and unused. 2) The food section isn't that big but service is quick. We tried the cheese pizza, poor boy, pork chop on a stick, cheeseburger, and donuts. We would definitely order the poor boy, a cube steak sandwich, and pork chop again. They did an excellent job with grilling the meats and both had a nice sear while retaining moisture. The donuts were mini-size and came in baker's dozen so it was easy for our young girls to dig in.

I had been wanting to do this FOR YEARS and never got around to it. Finally, a few months ago, I…read moredid it. I saw a Facebook ad for a combination goat hang out and brewery flight (via the Fever app "Brews and Baahhs"). My two favorite things!! (ha ha) So I bought the tickets and was not disappointed. It was one-hour with the goats, then you went to One Lake Brewing down the street afterward for a free flight (and we ended up buying dinner). The owner, David, was there and chit-chatted and answered some questions. Then did a few things around the property while we just hung out and petted the goats. I have never had such an up close and personal experience with a goat. They are a lot like dogs. They were hilarious and very affectionate. They wanted to climb all over us but we were prepared for that. It's a shame that David mentioned they might only be doing this for a year or two more. I'm sure it's a lot to maintain, especially during these crazy times. -But it's very covid safe. For what we did, you can wear your mask and you are left alone with the goats in a huge open pasture - so it's not a people-crowded event. I highly recommend it - it was a lot of fun. In case the number is not on the profile - he gave me a card with contact info: 847-226-9510; glennartfarm.com for more info.

Goat yoga has been on my bucket list for some time. I stumbled upon Glennart Farms in an email and…read morestarted to read up on their urban farm. This is in the Austin neighborhood right next to Oak Park. I never realized I lived 10 minutes away from an urban farm my entire life! The chicken coops are at this address and then the yoga is down the alley in a field right by the firehouse. You can't miss it! They have the area fenced in with 20+ goats! I adore all animals and heard that goat yoga is a great way to relax and rid anxiety. I was fully present and in the moment when I was surrounded by these adorable goats. I will definitely recommend this to everyone who has never done goat yoga before. This was a more affordable option too! Usually if you go to goat yoga in the city tickets are around 50 dollars this is closer to 26 bucks! Not bad. Such a great time. David and Carolyn seem like the really take great care of their goats. David was telling me how a mother goat rejected her baby goat and they had to bottle feed the goat every four hours! They name the goats really cute names and tell you about their life and temperament. I wanted to take one home with me! They were clean and lovable. I will definitely come back :) NaaaaaAaamaste ‍
