Although they were donted into a raffle i'm extremely pleased to say that my uncle is going. The grounds there are great and theres always a fun time to be had! 20/20 games always great if you aren't into the long game of cricket and this is whats playing there soon and i definately reccommend this to anyone who is up for a try watching cricket.

During my undergrad years here, it was actually still under renovation and well, I'm shallow and new buildings always excite me. Marlowe is no different, it's definitely ready for big crowds and summer time drinks outside the patio. They've made a large patio and even decorated it with a happy theatre mask which is creepy at night, and if you're a bit drunk and high. (Students will most likely be that!) Inside the theatre itself is a theatre worthy of big big productions, I think they have 4 levels of seats, somehow, we managed to bag front row centre tickets to see Sarah Millican (to be fair, we booked 18 months in advanced!) The only qualms I have is that they definitely cater to the the locals and not students because the prices for drinks are STEEEEEEP. £4.10 for a frigging single oj and vodka. (I might just go the to student bars beforehand, thanks. If any of you feel the same way, and not local to Canterbury, drop me a line and I'll direct you to the uni campus so if you do want to drink like a student and give the liver a wake up call, you'll know where to go-also SNAKEBITE. I had such a great time last year and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Saturday night was without a doubt a great night with the live bands and i hope they are just as good this year! Definately worth going to! It is £6 entry but it is all for a good cause and definately a good time. The Beer tent is also huge and the prices are definately good. £3 a pint. I thought that was extremely reasonable as the pub up the road is more expensive than that. Also the guy who is running the beer tent, actually showed me and the missus around the back of the bar a few weeks ago when he did the Quexpo country fair. The cooling system is amazing and you are definately getting good beer/cider.

The boat was hand built and our oarsman/guide was clever and informative. We learned a little history, saw some interesting sights (including wildlife), and enjoyed our relaxing and entertaining stroll down the water. If you happen to be in town, why not give this a go? Master-Guru-Punter Sebastian took us on a lovely, adventurous, informative, and beautiful punting boat ride along the crystal clear waters of the River Stour through charming historic Canterbury. Reminded me of the Venetian Gondola ride in Venice that we never took due to the outrageous cost...but the English Canterbury version was much more affordable, despite having to share it was 4 friendly strangers on a group boat tour. Scenery is delightful, the wild birds are even more so. £20 per adult, well worth it!

We went to see a number of events here - including a comedy night and a panto. The bar and sweet shop is manned by the volunteers from the am dram society and the prices are VERY reasonable - we paid £2 for a large glass of wine, and 50p for sweeties - which is refreshing in this day and age. Very safe, well converted with facinating photo display of the conversion. Comfortable seating, if a little old fashioned and a bit on the small side for those of us with larger bottoms!

Farming world is a good place for a day out with the kids. There is an excellent kids play area and pretty decent cafe serving a range of hot food, drinks and sandwiches. The kids play area includes an air pillow (like a bouncy castle but stuck in the ground), slides, climbing frame, swings and probably some other stuff that I can't remember. There is a bird display which occurs a few times each day and an excellent tractor ride round the farm which the kids loved. Farming world is conveniently located just a couple of minutes from the end of the M2.
