Went to SJ checked out a few then found redemption Here I am able to apply the preaching to my life. I truly learned and understood the meaning of the holly spirt how it lives in me and teaches me. I also learned understand speaking in tongues. When I was going through the hardest time of my Life in and out of the hospital with anxiety the sermons were on point and help guide me with using the keys of the kingdom. I understood what it's is being "yoked" and family curses. I can easily go back and listen to the sermons.

I visited Redemption Church recently and wanted to see what the hype was about. The church…read moredefinitely has a high-energy, concert-style atmosphere, there's a DJ outside, greeters dancing around, flashy cars in the huge parking lot, and a production-heavy vibe. If you're new to church or enjoy a very lively, event-like experience, this might appeal to you. What surprised me, though, was how much of the service felt like advertising for upcoming paid programs. It felt longer than the actual message itself. When Pastor Ron came up to give the sermon, I expected some teaching or guidance. Instead, he mostly repeated short phrases like "God is good" or "Hallelujah" a few times, then closed with a very brief prayer, just a couple sentences. That's completely valid as a form of worship, but if you're looking for a sermon with teaching, Scripture breakdown, or practical application, this church may leave you feeling like something's missing. I left feeling a bit confused and underfed spiritually. Redemption Church clearly knows how to create a lively, welcoming experience, but for someone seeking depth and teaching, it didn't meet that need.

Finding a church that fits your whole family is hard. A few years ago, we were searching for a…read morechurch that could help our family grow -- one our kids would love, with a good kids ministry where they'd learn, thrive, and feel comfortable (my youngest daughter is very attached), and one where my husband and I could grow in our faith and be spoken to at our level. The kids and I were nervous on our first day, but I'm happy to report that after four years, the entire family enjoys going to Echo Church. All our kids love the kids ministry -- including my attached daughter. She enjoys going to church, dancing on stage, and reporting back to me everything she's learned, how God loves her (it's SO sweet), and all the crafts she made. That alone tells me we found the right place. I'd describe Echo as a very modern church -- they adapt well to the fast-moving Silicon Valley environment. They're fun, but they also dig into deep subjects that are 100% relatable. A personal story: I've been a Christian almost all my life but never got baptized until I came to Echo. Somehow, Pastor Sarah, through one sermon, explained in her own words why baptism matters -- and after years of fighting it, it was like God spoke through her. Another sermon of hers moved me to forgive someone I'd held so much anger toward, someone I had decided never to speak to again. That's the kind of impact this church has had on me. They offer multiple morning services plus an early afternoon one, so it's easy to find a time that works. I love this church and all the amazing things they're doing for the community and the world -- their love for God and the community shows in great volumes. I appreciate all the time the staff spends making everything engaging, from the materials to the fun outreach programs. Thank you to all the staff at Echo Church!

From my first ever…read morevisit to each one since, l have been met with a welcoming, loving community that made me feel like I belonged! The young adults community is authentic, encouraging, and centered on growing in faith together. This is a church of people who genuinely love Jesus and care about one another. The messages are biblically grounded, worship is full of joy, reverent, and about glorifying God, creating an atmosphere to freely encounter the Lord. There are so many opportunities to get involved and serve the community. The kids + youth ministries and beyond are full of absolutely wonderful families. If you're looking for a church where you can grow spiritually while finding meaningful community, especially as a young adult, I would absolutely recommend checking VIVE out all over the Bay! My daughter is excited when I tell her we're going to church. I love that there is a worship experience for the kids too! It's so encouraging throughout the week hearing her sing Jesus loves me. Vive San Jose is our church home and we love being in community not only Sundays but throughout the week. I came to Vive when I was a new mom to meet other families with kids as we were the first of our friends to have children and now I help lead the moms group. There's even a parents lounge that's a quieter room for parents and babies up to 6 months with changing tables, a nursing area, bottle warmers and a play area for the kids! Definitely would recommend

In that sense, it's clear that the church is rooted in Scripture and worship. However, from my personal experience, community was a downside. When I attended a couple of years ago, I found the church to feel somewhat "cliquey," with groups already formed, which made it difficult to connect. I eventually stepped away because I value genuine community where efforts to build friendships are reciprocated. Fast forward two years later, I found myself still struggling to form meaningful connections within the church. While worship and sermons are vital, community is also a huge part of church life, and unfortunately, I didn't feel welcomed or included. For that reason, I've decided to move on and find a place where I can both grow spiritually and feel connected relationally. No hard feelings at all, I truly wish Bold Church the best and hope they continue to grow in building deeper community. It just wasn't the right fit for me.
