Funny, when the home team scores a touch down a cannon fires off a shot. It is a tradition there that is LOUD and scary especially if you are sitting near it like I was. Preparing to watch a game here, you should pack a seat cushion because the stadium has aluminum bench seats. The stadium rents portable cushioned seats with backs on them. The restrooms are old but clean. The best part about this stadium is the parking. It is nearby, plentiful and FREE at most locations.

This symposium was hosted at Owens Community College. We spoke at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts building. It's a great building and it had a fine auditorium to speak at. I needed IT assistance to connect my laptop to give my presentation, something no one else was doing. I needed to do this as I was going to use a program to promote audience interaction from the high school kids. The program allows participants to scan a qr code with their phone and be able to answer questions. This program called Slido, is subscription based and is tied to my account, thus needed IT assistance. The IT department at the college was incredibly helpful in ensuring I could connect and also ensuring the audio worked for my presentation. They were top notch. It was a great honor and experience as a guest speaker here, talking to high school kids about Ethics! Would love to do it again!

It's a world of difference from attending most of the Toledo area traditional public schools, as the school and its services are designed around the individual needs of the students. The school's philosophies and policies put the students first, maintain their dignity, treat them with compassion and respect and provide the services needed to help each child reach his/her potential. Most classrooms have six students to four staff. We offer speech and OT, a Snoezelen Multisensory Room, two gross motor sensory rooms, gymnasium, computer lab with smartboard, life skills room and vocational programming both onsite and in the community at places such as Goodwill Industries and the Holiday Inn French Quarter. In response to the review by a former employee, the overwhelming majority of the school's students have a diagnosis of autism. However, as a public school, the AAL cannot deny admission to students who do not have the diagnosis. The programming and services are specifically designed for those with autism. The school has a very open-door policy and anyone wishing to visit is welcome to call the school for a tour or to answer any questions.

Our family has been part of MCA from preschool through elementary. It's the only school they've…read moreever known, and watching their growth here has been such a blessing. Academically, they are thriving and consistently testing above state standards. When reading challenges came up for both of our boys at different times, the school addressed them quickly and intentionally. The intervention specialist partnered with us right away, created a plan, and within a VERY SHORT TIME both were testing above state average. That kind of care and follow-through matters. Even more than academics, in this school environment, their strengths are noticed and their hearts are nurtured. One of our sons loves to serve, and even a former teacher still invites him to help in her classroom before school starts. That relationship and investment speak volumes. The teachers here care deeply -- not just about academics, but about character, faith, and the whole child. For our family, that makes all the difference.

The teachers truly care about each student and do a fantastic job nurturing both academic growth and character. The strong Christian foundation is evident in everything they do, creating a positive, values-driven environment for kids to learn and grow. The small class sizes are a huge bonus, allowing for more personal attention and meaningful relationships. It feels like a close-knit community where students are supported, encouraged, and set up for success. Highly recommend!

As a strong and positive presence in this otherwise drab end of Toledo, CCHS has really improved its neighborhood and own campus over the last few years. CCHS is the largest co-ed Catholic High School in Toledo, with nearly 2000 students. It accelerates in special education as well as college preparatory classes, as well as sports, the arts, and computer technology. CCHS offers a plethora of scholarships and work-study options, and is open to students of all backgrounds. Incoming students are also given a MacBook for their high school studies and the personal attention that only a caring, intentional faculty and staff can provide. As of late, CCHS has opened its new Varsity-sized football stadium next to its college-sized gymnasium. Central also just opened its own astronomy center, which includes a Moon Rock and observatory. CCHS is truly above and beyond any other school in Toledo. Go Irish!

The only coed Catholic High…read moreSchool in Toledo (Cardinal Stritch doesn't count) our single sex high school rivals would refer to us as Central Public. They were just jealous :) During my time there women's basketball ruled and we never won the Irish Knight football game. The students here have a lot of school spirit as well. As for classes and teachers, Dr. Monford's AP European History class was a beast, the block english/history class with Mrs. Best and Mr. Clark my sophomore year is hands down the best class. Homecoming is fun as well (I was in Top Five for Homecoming Queen) and the Super Fella week is another highlight. I haven't visited recently, but hear that we are now D3 football champs and have finally won the Irish Knight from St. Francis.

I paid for my child to take drivers ed and driving time. They were scheduling driving time 3 months…read moreout. Apparently what I paid for was only good for 6 months. She did not get her drive time in before the 6 months. Now she has to retake BOTH and they want me to pay the FULL AMOUNT AGAIN. I paid $500 and got NOTHING in return. they won't even give me the certificate for her completing the online class.
