You might find something useful or maybe not but you got to do the browse walk around to see . Workers are not the nicest folks but they do let you browse freely ..After dropping off my boxes , I did find a few books in the mystery genre and a small table clock that looks gothic and spooky . There is the barn filled with furniture, larger antiques and trinkets and the house building that has some really cool antiques throughout. I once saw a JFK campaign hat! The prices are fair and they are also willing to negotiate with you. Every time I've gone in as well there is new stuff which I think speaks for the amount of consigners in the area. When I walked in, I greeted the room with a polite "good morning." Only one employee--who was actively assisting another customer--bothered to reply. An older associate who was not assisting anyone completely ignored me. After standing there waiting for assistance to view an item in the display case, that same associate chose to walk past me to take out the trash, leaving me standing there ignored. When I asked whether taking out trash was a higher priority than assisting a paying customer who wanted to purchase items from the display case (a pair of Jordan 12s), she eventually returned to unlock the case. Instead of handing them to me or placing them down professionally, she slammed the sneakers onto the counter and walked away. I immediately walked out and left the item on the counter. Whether this behavior was rooted in racial prejudice or simply a complete disregard for customer service, it is entirely intolerable. New York is a melting pot of diverse cultures and nationalities, and no customer walking into a business with courtesy and money to spend should be treated as a nuisance or profiled based on their appearance. Even in a thrift store setting, basic human respect and professional standards must be maintained. I hope management addresses this employee's conduct directly, as no one in this community deserves to be treated this way.

E.g. an old cashmere sweater full of holes $30, a small yarn of wool not enough for making a cap $10, tacky no quality jewelry above $20, etc. Still some people come and are looking for some "treasures", this cannot happen, because all those might never reach the store shelves. However, I would give a high credit to a foreign born owner (barber) to establish those stores to absorb at least to some extent so much clothing and other items that otherwise would have finished in the garbage cans. This only underlines an urgent need to establish a high capacity thrift stores in dense populated affluent Manhattan areas, at least 3 mega Good Will stores were closed in Manhattan during last few years, apparently because of a total incompetence of the top highly overpaid staff and not dealing with mass corruption at all levels, best valuable items hardly make it into stores or appear on online auctions. So, if a foreign born owner can run those stores and still with some profit, why across the country tax free store chain decades in existence cannot do the same?

But what I like about this thrift store is that you can still get your junkin' on. Like they say- "one person's trash is another person's treasure". I didn't come across a blue door- but from what it looks like, Blue Door Thrift Shop has 2 entrances with one of them being right by their parking lot around the corner. Actually I saw a blue door.... inside (@~_@~). Racks are neat, glass display cases hold costume jewelry and there's one fitting room about the size of a child's arm span. In addition to the thrift store part, there's also an indoor "flea market" in an adjoining room with "vendors" selling fabric and more knick-knacks.
