I would rank this thrift store in terms of merchandise, one of the better ones in the city. It has two floors , with the lower floor mostly for clothes, furniture, and toys and jewelry...the second floor has a ton of used books, odd records, and dishware. What makes this thrift store standout to me than the usual, are lots of vintage reference and schooling books. Not sure if these books were here a long time or just recently added. They price things extremely high for a "Christian thrift store". Good luck finding any meat left on the bone if you're a re-seller. I found a comic book in the kid's section and the lady at the desk asked "where'd you find this?" and attempted to up the price right before my eyes. Was supposed to be around a dollar or two and she tried charging me like $5 or $10. I've been going there on a regular basis for years which leaves me to believe, they either don't pay attention to their online reviews or simply don't care. Clothes rarely get cycled out, been seeing the same shirts for over a year now. The men's section in particular is always a cluttered mess. Holy smokes whoever is pricing at this store really needs to reevaluate things. As an ex-reseller I can tell you these prices are KILLING local resellers who are just trying to make a living. This thrift (sadly among other as I'm seeking this more and more) are going to price themselves out of business. I was SHOCKED at what I saw and the photos are just a sampling. I used to frequent this store and was happy to pay THRIFT store prices but this is absurd. I hate to say it but with their pricing now it's actually better to shop at Walmart. I highly recommend shopping at this thrift store. All of my friends know I am a frequent visitor, because it is so well organized and inexpensive for a thrift store with high quality-products. Also, unlike some resale shops, their profits are benefitting the community. Look on their website https://svdpsfw.org/, for info about their service projects like shuttling elderly to medical appointments, stocking food pantries, jail ministries, and much more. The prices for vintage and antique pieces are fantastic. Don't forget to check upstairs! The ceramic and serving ware department to so cute and has treasures that you can't find anywhere else. This is exactly what I look for in a thrift store. Large selection and low prices. Yes, you will have to dig through some crap to find what you are looking for, but that's what thrifting is all about! There are two things I particularly love about St. Vincent's: 1) There is a huge room full of furniture. Some of it is on par with what you will find at Finder's Keepers, but it is far less expensive. 2) They will go to great lengths to help you load it into your car. This was kind of annoying for me, but I think for most people it would be a plus. Let me explain... So, I have above average spatial perception, and I just KNEW that the table, 2 chairs, and child's rocking chair I had purchased would all fit in the 2-door Chrysler Sebring I was driving. The guy who loads the furniture was far less optimistic. I began to have second thoughts, but when offered to take the legs off the table for me, I was reassured. I am certain that if he would have let me load it myself I would have had it in the car within 5 minutes. Instead, he and another guy spent about 20-30 minutes trying various strategies to get it all into the car. Finally, they went with the configuration I had suggested in the first place, and I was on my way! Although, I was a bit annoyed that they wouldn't listened to me, I was extremely impressed with their willingness to work so hard to save me multiple trips :) This is now my go-to thrift store. read more

What used to be a fun place to go bargain hunting for treasures is now something different. The good- store looks a lot cleaner and organized. Friendly staff. The bad- high prices......on everything. The selection is slim because everything's behind a counter or glass that is supposedly "worth more" what I actually found were casserole dishes missing lids and cracked and crazed teacups. They should scribble out "Thrift store" and replace it with "Boutique" because that is what it looks like they are trying to do. I'm sure management changed and hiked up prices. I miss the old store, where you could dig for gold and not cost a fortune. Seriously, Walmart has cheaper plates, bowls,etc as well as clothing and furniture and it doesn't need to be power washed or repaired. No one was shopping when I was either, another red flag. The store is very well organized. And clean. I feel that things are overpriced. They should just have a general price for cups and plates and stuff trying to individually mark everyone. I can't imagine how much manpower that takes to put a $.25 sticker and write it three times on one item. In the stuff that's in the antique section is ridiculous because it's like going to an antique store it's supposed to be a thrift store and to help the needy that stuff is way overpriced they need to move things out by having more sales so it keeps the stuff in the store fresh. read more

I stopped in about a year ago. I was so excited that I had discovered another thrift store so close to home! My excitement was quickly shot down as I walked around and saw the outrageous prices on everything from the clothing to kitchen items. I have not been back since, I will stick with the Salvation Army & Goodwill thrift stores. read more

I'm sorry but I have to agree with the others on this, I used to love coming here but lately not so much. I found a super cute shirt that was reasonably priced but had a huge stain on it. I'm unsure as to why they have so many items locked up, they're everyday dishes, plates, etc and most of them are chipped or cracked. I found a small vase there for over $15 that came from Dollar General. Not sure who does the pricing but he/she needs to figure out how to do so. The toys are also over priced, I saw a Happy Meal toy for $1.50. Seriously? I can get the whole Happy Meal for not much more than that. read more

What used to be a thrift store with great prices and bargains is now an overpriced junky antique store with anything of perceived value overpriced and placed behind many locked cases. There are so many things behind the ever expanding counter are that you cannot even see what they have, let alone the price. I understand the profits are for a good cause but I wonder if they are benefitting that cause less now under what must be new management. The average lower income shopper cannot afford their inflated prices. A reseller looking for bargains has no room for profit and someone willing to pay collector prices is likely not going to frequent the business. This used to be one of my go to stops in a thrift store circuit but sadly will no longer be considered. At least until things change. read more

This store used to be my favorite thrift store. I have shopped at it for over 10 years, but over the last year it has totally changed. Items are cherry picked and over priced under the direction of a delusional manger that has placed items behind a counter so you cannot even look at them. Everything anyone would really want is now priced as it would be on eBay or in a antique store. Even low price items are placed behind lock and key in almost a offensive way. My favorite place to thrift shop. The staff is super nice. Things are a bit discombobulated with all of the renovation going on, but I can always find what I need and purchase it on either 20% off Senior Tuesdays or 50% off at the end of the month. Yes, sometime I have to ask for assistance for a behind-the-counter item, but the staff is always patient with me. I've learned what times of day are less busy to receive more personal service. read more

St. Vincent DePaul thrift store is by far my preferred place to shop when looking for extremely low prices and vintage furniture.The staff has a amazing attitude as well.If you have a appreciation for old school anything, this is the place to visit! read more

The manager thinks that this place is an antique store. As a matter of fact, he prices things higher than any antique store in the area. Danee's review was correct before this new guy started. 2013 now and that great thrift store is gone. A whole new group of idiots are running it into the ground. Now it's trying to be an antique mall or some such thing. Prices have gone way up, friendliness has gone way down and a lot of the pricing on smaller items gets done at the register (seemingly based on whether the customer looks like they have money or not) so you have to make snap decisions and keep asking how much they're charging you. They have a sliding scale for books: $1 - $10 (they have more stinky junky books than they could hope to sell if they made them all 25 cents!) and you won't know til you get to the reg. If you really want a laugh, go over to the furniture section and check out the battered and heavily used items they're selling for $100-$150. Apparently they're fine with ripping people off...where does the money go? Hopefully some gets to the needy but with so many 'employees' around I'm not too confident.
