The stores up north however are hard to come by... There are not as many and their inventory is lacking due to being in a less populated area... It is funny to see how the stock and type of stuff varies so much in different parts of the state. This thrift store is the best one that I have found in Northern Michigan not only is it extremely spacious... The store itself is extremely organized, and you can tell that the owners and staff take great pride in merchandising their product in a way that is easy to shop and thoughtfully placed. I found it incredible how this business is operating I went today for the first time and it is senior day so the deals are very deep and the line is wrapped around the building! It seems like this building was once a mom and pop shop style department store because there are various rooms that organize each department even still with it being a thrift store this location have less furniture and clothing but all the other items are in great supply. Ifound a few great deals and left knowing that I will be back I highly recommend this store if you are into Thrifting and looking for a gift or even a vintage find.

Easy to miss but DONT. This is an incredibly organized merchandised and clean building. The staff is so warm and sweet, small talk at check out was so natural and positive. Soft lines (apparel, footwear, linens, pillow) is on the right side. The middle section that connects the two buildings was the fragile items.. glassware, candles, glass home decor. Then the left side was everything else! Everything is so well laid out which isn't the typical for a thrift store. The furniture is all in great shape and priced to value. Seems they filter donations in a way. Tons of Disney movies and outdoor sports gear... clothing was blanket priced (I.E. all ladies tops $2 all men's pants $3 for example) unless otherwise signed or marked. Got some great stuff today!

While dropping off a bag of donated garment, I was approached by a rude and obnoxious employee that insisted on yelling at me for dropping the bag in the wrong bin (an honest mistake). She insisted on being extremely combative with me even though I told her I wasn't sure where the proper drop off was supposed to be. She was extremely rude and had no remorse for her terrible attitude. I treat people with respect, and I would hope that someone in customer service would do the same, especially when someone is trying to donate to charity. I hope this employee eventually understands that a little kindness can go a long way. Again, thank you Amy for your help in settling an uncomfortable situation. Bob

It's been critical for us to clear out things we no longer need (or things that we never needed but were bequeath to us)! And of course we found Treasurer After Treasurer there, From kitchen tools... to blankets...to shoes...to jigsaw puzzles... small furniture items... The prices are beyond reasonable, and it feels good to know the money is going to a great cause. It's just fun to go here and look around, even if you aren't looking for anything in particular, because there's always something that you can't live without! What the lady from Bloomfield Hills does not seem to realize is the "3 M's" are all 'alive - organisms that spread & grow just like ants or fleas. If you have a library and a book is put on your shelf that has mildew on it, that mildew CAN & usually Does grow & spreads to other books. If you have clothing that has mildew on it, you can see the spots & you usually can not "wash it out". I won a box-lot of vintage 1920's hats at an auction. It was a lousy day for an auction - raining & windy. My nose was running and I could not smell. I got stuck with mildewy hats. Great. SO if you donate a truck full of stuff & the musty smell hits you in the face when the door is opened, it is NOT "one little thing". But it IS like skunk spray - not going away. So please do not blame the helper. Their trash bill is over a thousand dollars a month.

She also had a cloth bag loaded with items which I could not completely see. However, at the top of this bag was a set of sheets still in original store packaging. She brought both of these items behind the front checkout counter. The man who was operating the checkout told her to "just go ahead and take them." She left the store with both bags without paying for them. Then came back into the store to work. This is the second time I have seen these so-called volunteers take items that were donated to the needy community of Hale. I no longer donate to this place. Some of the workers there are thieves.

When I arrived, I was told the items had already been "sold" to a friend of the estate sale company before the sale opened to the public. To make matters worse, a sign-up sheet was suddenly produced that had not been available when I was there raising concerns about whether all customers were being given the same opportunity to purchase items fairly. The situation felt very unprofessional and unfair. The rude attitude I received when asking about the items only added to the frustration. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to attend another sale run by this company.

He went on to explain the turnout was so poor he called the owner to get their approval about starting 50% at 3pm that day (they close at 4) vs next day when they open. He explained with the amount of items left tomorrow that prices may drop sooner if there was a lot of inventory left and owners agreed to start 75% off sooner. We thanked him and left. Live an hour away and drove back for 3 pm, were told by the workers they had no idea about 50% off startin. They questioned the owner who said no, I thought when he sees us he'll remember our earlier conversation about him saying to come at three. He was swearing and very belligerent when we tried to tell him everything he said but he would just cut us off. Then says to get my ass off the property, over what? He was spitting, his face turned bright red. Then he changes his story when I confront him on the facts. He started off saying he said 3 tom and we misunderstood . I countered with 50% off starts in the morning not 3 pm, so he modified it to that he told us to come back for 75% off tomorrow at 3. I mean this guy was nasty, I told him we drove an hour to come back. No sane person is going to drive an hour back and make up this whole story of him talking to the owners unless they heard it directly from him. Such and unprofessional person, last thing he needed was to chase away buyers when he had next to none. I mean my husband had to tell him several times to stop screaming and swearing. My husband is a retired police offer and he said after we left the guy is a psycho. I will never go to one of his sales again and word back from other buyers after posting about him, is he's lost a lot of customers over his bad behavior. The guy is a hot head, rude and ignorant person. I will add, he never allowed us to finish the entire conversation we had with him earlier, he would cut us off and start screaming....
