True to the bio that you can read on her website, Stacey is a genuine, warm person. Her personality works well for someone that works iin the world of beauty. This was my first visit and she made me feel comfortable. I wanted a microdermabrasion ( i have acne prone/oily skin). After doing an assessment of my face she gave me her honest opinion. She explained what would work best to give me the results I wanted. She appeared to be very knowledgeable about her craft and that made me relax. The dermabrasion was painless. I did get an enzyme peel that smelled like candy and burned like fire but it cooled off in one minute and left my face feeling smooth. finally, she gave me a cooling mask and a foot and upper body massage. The massage was very soothing after those peels to the face. My face felt so smooth for days afterwards. I would definitely reccomend her. I developed plantar faciitis in my right foot last fall and have been enduring the pain and slow rehabilitation ever since. PF is difficult because the exact cause and effects can vary from person to person. So there is not a one-size-fits-all therapy. I read that massage is effective for some people. I talked about it with Stacey and eventually scheduled an appointment. I am a member of the Golds Gym where her studio is and already knew her to be an excellent spin instructor and all around good person. Other reviews describe the studio so I will skip that. Stacey is familiar with PF so the massage was very interactive as she wanted feedback from me about exactly where the pain was and how the treatment was feeling. She adjusted based on my feedback. I could tell I was with someone with extensive knowledge and experience. I went into it not sure what to expect and came out wishing I had done it weeks or months earlier. There is not a magic bullet treatment for PF but I definitely believe the effect of this massage was very positive in the long trajectory of the rehabilitation. Me and my fiance came to get massages here and they were AMAZING. Probably one of the best massages I've ever had honestly. The only thing I kind of questioned afterwards was not getting my full body rubbed, just my back... my fiance told me he got his full body rubbed. But overall still great. Well, I am an ex fashion model and over the past 25 years, I have had facials in 20 countries and countless cities, including Paris, London, Milan, Rome, Berlin, New york, Tokyo...you get the idea- I'm a Pampering Connoisseur. And Stacey O gets 5 stars from me! I rarely write reviews (unless I feel like its my duty to help others avoid something) and Stacey O has made such a positive impression on me that I felt compelled to shout it on the rooftops! I will tell you why I gave her 5 stars and then explain: Service- the best, Competence- the best, ambience- the best. Price- extremely fair and reasonable. My number one criteria is COMPETENCE and Stacey O has it to spare. I have difficult acne prone skin and many people do not know how to do proper extraction or just don't do extractions at all. Stacey took one look at my skin and knew just what to do. She did a VERY personalized facial on me that was a mix of different things listed on her site. She also had no problem explaining anything to me that I asked (respected me!) and gave me a chemical peel that I am (two days later) only just beginning to realize the incredible implications of. She knows all of the exotic European and Far eastern techniques- I know this because I have been to these places- not because a sign said so (like in other pretentious esthetic studios). I used to live in Miami and I had to fly to New York for facials with Ronald Sherman/Trish MacEvoy (not for ambiance, price or service- ONLY for Competence!) because I couldn't find anyone closer who was even vaguely acceptable or gave immediate AND long term results- so I never even dreamed to find Stacey O in Columbia, Sc. Stacey O cares enough to have developed her services to the highest degree and it is clear that she gives 200% on top of that. Now I'm hooked and cant wait to go back. She even did ear-candeling on me! I've been wanting to try that for years and I am sooooo happy with that experience. 41 years of wax build up was on display when she was done and I am happy to report that I am not going deaf as I previously feared. Its like the only place a girl can feel like she is being transformed by the Good fairy from a tired mum to the Belle of the Ball. PRICE: Let me be frank here. Who has extra money these days? Not me. I need to get my full money's worth. Stacey charges $75-$100 for a facial, $45 for Ear Candeling and it is more than worth it. I found myself happily paying her and that hasn't happened to me in the longest time. I'm gonna try her massages next time. Also, the other reviewer was right, she does not try to sell you stuff. I didn't know how important that point was until I had the experience. I was so grateful for the experience that I just had to have more, so I found myself asking her "What else you got?" Lol. On April 25th I got a massage with Stephanie (Stacy's Assistant). It was probably one of the best massages I've ever had (from Florida to Illinois). Perfectly adjusted herself to get my preferred areas of concentration during my full body massage. Before started we even discussed a communication plan for if I'd like a pressure adjustment (harder or softer); a very effective strategy to success! On May 2nd I got a brazilian, brow, and lip wax. I've been getting waxed for 8 years now. Within those 8 years I've come across only 2 estheticians that have given me a fuzz-free brazilian (completely naked post-waxing) and NOT taken off too much hair from my eye brows. Now I can make that list total, 3. Stacy was friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process from scheduling to service. She even had me check multiple times, while she was present, to ensure she hadn't missed anything brazilian-wise. After all, it's always good to get a second opinion from a different angle, given lighting adjustments and such. I truly appreciated this process. My only disappointment is that I found her this late in the game. Having attended USC (I'm graduating in a few days, to clarify), I jumped from one place to another. Clearly, I was satisfied or I would have stuck with whom ever I thought did a good job. However, no one up until May 2nd made the cut. I have acne prone skin and have tried everything in the book (dermatologist, proactiv, OTC, etc) so I started going to Stacey to see if she could help and boy has she!! I've now done three facial treatments this year and my skin has improved so much!!! Just did my first microdermabrasion on my last visit and am loving the results from it. Not only do the visits with Stacey help my skin, but they're very relaxing too as she always adds a little extra hand/foot massage with some aromatherapy. Though GPI is quite luxurious, they cater to travelers, and are trying to give you a great, one-time experience. Stacey, on the other hand, knows how to turn a first time customer into a devotee. She focuses on your skin and its needs, both through physical examination and questions about your skin history and desired results. I drive from about 1.5 hours away for Stacey's facials. She is amazing, knowledgeable and very good at her job. She makes you feel comfortable and gives you the best experience she can. She even follows-up with you to see how the treatment worked. During the facials, Stacey always explains what product she is using and why she is using it- something I really like so I know what is being used on me. This was my first time ever getting a facial and Stacey made it such an amazing experience, I can't wait to go back. I was recommended to her by a co-worker and while I was a little gun shy due to the price (Granted, I've never done a facial before, so I don't know how much they were supposed to cost), I decided to do it anyways. I called and set up an appointment with Stacey herself. She was very accommodating to my schedule. After we went over my skin goals, Stacey briefed me on what was going to happen. I climbed onto the table (which was heated by the way :)), and got ready to go to work. She didn't just treat my face; she worked the top of my chest too. My mask started to irritate me a bit, and Stacey fanned me just to make sure I was comfortable. I was perfectly okay with fanning myself, but Stacey totally handled it. I really appreciated that as many people could have just wiped the mask off and told me to choose another one, but because that was the one I wanted, she went to extra lengths to make sure I was comfortable. I know it was such a small act, but that was one of the reason I will return. Stacey is very knowledgeable and does listen to you. She didn't try to push products, which to me is very important. Even if it is something that she recommends, she does tell you how much it cost up front and you can say no if it doesn't fit your budget. While one of the products she recommended didn't fit my budget, I was appreciative that she told me about it so that I can save up for it. Bottom line, go see her. I'm thinking about signing the hubs up for the gentleman's facial and continuing the micodermabrasion.Top notch lady! read more
