When I got there, they said that it was a windy and asked if I wanted to reschedule, but I decided to go through with it. They made me feel very comfortable. We got out and they taught me a couple of skills and then we were out there for real. In 50 minutes we managed to go 1 mile. Way too many people for covid times. I asked and apparently the usual maximum is 100 people and…read moreduring covid they limit it to 50. We had 50 in our session and it was very crowded and no way to social distance. I can't even imagine 100 kids there at once. My kids are 9 and 6 and while these are generally good ages for this park, I was a bit worried they would get trampled by the big kids that dominated our session. Most of our session was filled with large teenagers from a camp and they weren't exactly watching out for the little kids. If you plan to bring smaller kids (and especially if they aren't strong and aggressive), I would recommend going to a little kid only session. For adults - there is no need for an adult to accompany the child in the course. I bought a ticket for my hubby thinking he would have fun with the kids and would be helpful. There was absolutely no need and he wasn't even with them most of the time b/c they were all over the place. You can watch from the pier but wear sunblock - there is no shade. I would go later in the afternoon so you dont fry.

Sensei Kim never skipped a beat and before we knew it our son was making his way through an obstacle course, tears and all. Even though he hit an emotional hurdle (he wasn't quite 4 at the time) we could tell he really enjoyed the class and we signed him up on the spot. A year and a half later, our little guy is so proud to show off his straddle to our friends, and to show off his powerful little kicks to the back of my legs. Class at Amerikick had given him confidence to try new things and has helped him socialize better with other kids. Besides, little kids look really cute in a gi!
