Disgusted with entire visit. Was supposed to see another Doctor the day before, but because of my MS, was not feeling well. Found out that the other Doctor was going out of town and had the "concerned" office manager tell me to come in the next day to see this Dr. Graf, make sure everything was ok, and would make a follow up appointment with the physician my Doctor wanted me to see in the first place when she got back into town. Dr. Graf was almost immediately disinterested in my case when she found out I have been in pain management for 8 years. Told me the "Narcotics" made me sleepy. Mind you I have been on the same medication at a lower dose, but yes, it was the narcotics! If she had any interest, she would have found out that there are medical reasons for this; I found her to be a very prejudiced physician who stamps stigma's on people same as the archaic thinking of psychiatry and the science associated with it. I was not going to be her poster child at this age. If that is her style of care, fine, I do not have to be subjected to being made uncomfortable because of what my body needs or is doing. Not everyone is a foam at the mouth opioid addict who would sell their mothers out for a dose. There are compliant, careful and grateful patients who do follow directions because a life of pain is not an option. Then the icing on the cake came when the office manager said I could not see the other doctor, they'd have to "transfer" my care to her and I was essentially stuck with this Dr. Graf. No bedside manner, nothing. I had felt odd driving the day before. 38 years with a Driver's License, No tickets, no accidents, ever! And to hear her say it was like I was impaired, Mr. Neil P's review here came as no surprise to me when I read it. The office manager acting as if I was lying to her, but she doesn't realize that 2 other people heard her conversation with me, telling me she'd get me in to see the other doctor then when she got back from out of town. But that's ok. She needs to live with lying to me, she knows what she said, and so do others besides me. I will not be pulled into someone's practice because I highly doubt Dr. Graf's flat affect, disinterest and condescending attitude would attract a patient base on its own. I felt insulted, dismissed and a great deal of other feelings. In my minds eye, I just kept thinking "This woman has no idea that some of her patients have intelligence. I maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout College and Graduate School at an Ivy League University, I belong to MENSA, and I keep my family together and care for them in a "Sandwich" generation all while coping with MS. But she'll never see that part of this patient, she was already off to the next shiny object in her career. read more
