(THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THEIR POUTINE.. though I certainly won't waste my time with their pizza after having tried it)
So it was $10 for a pulled pork poutine (Medium, 10 for a medium and then I think the pork might have been a bit extra, their prices are not better than anywhere else though.) and I came in fairly late at night so it was only me and my buddy in the place. The two guys who ran it were sort of arguing with one another near the register, was just sort of disconcerting seeing an employee dance around their boss very clearly. What ever, I read the menu and there was nothing of their poutine on it, it was actually hung up in the back over the ovens on a chalk board. So two separate hanging menus, somewhat confusing. I ended up just asking him if there was pulled pork poutine. The boss was leaving at the time and he was seeming as if he had no idea how to make the poutine, since that was what I had heard him saying to the guy who ran the place. He gave him a brief run down of it and 10 minutes later a poutine was in front of me. One that was drenched in barbecue sauce and pork that was more like when you can pull dry chicken apart. It was chunks of pork, none of it was pulled. The worst part was the fries though, they MUST have been straight out of the freezer and into the fryer. That's how the mcdonalds I worked at did it but these were just terrible.. somehow. Fries were thick on the inside and just not well cooked.
Bad fries, drowned the gravy in barbecue sauce rather than accent the meat with it, it came to $10 and the cherry on top was that the tip page on their debit is mandatory. You can choose not to give one but it comes up first thing as they stare at you. Fuck off Stackhouse, no way I am tipping you for your disgusting $10 dollar pile of half cooked barbecue sauce.
There is better poutine anywhere with more effort. read more
