Tons of the guests at our wedding said that they've never see a bride and groom have so much fun at their own wedding and I think that's due to the fact that Stacy is one of the best in the biz. Throughout the planning process Stacy was incredible, but she was even better day of. As a groom it's pretty nerve racking to be standing there waiting to walk down the aisle, but having Stacy there with a warm smile saying everything was all set was really calming. I never had to worry about a thing and that's a huge relief on what can be an extremely stressful day. She kept us on time for everything and was also flexible with squeezing in extra time for photos cause she knew that was really important to us. In the middle of the evening I realized that I had left two cases of beer in the trunk of my car back at the hotel. I had spent weeks hunting this down and Stacy knew it meant a lot to me so she had one of her assistants drive back to the hotel, talk the front desk into getting access to my car so she could bring the beer back to the wedding. Pure awesomeness. We also had an unexpected medical emergency in the middle of the reception and Stacy handled it like the pro she is. The person actually ended up going to the hospital with some family and Stacy arranged for food to be sent over. I asked the wedding venue I chose if they had any Event Planners to recommend, and Stacey was first on their list. After speaking with her just once, I told my fiance' that I didn't need to speak with anyone else because she was "perfect." And now that our wedding has come and gone, I can say without question that she was indeed perfect. To back track a little bit... When I began, I wanted to find vendors that were not overly traditional, trite, or in any way "cheesy" - not always easy in the formulaic industry of wedded bliss. I've never been someone who dreamed of a fairytale princess wedding, I just wanted a very tasteful event that reflected who we were as a unique couple. Stacey definitely helped us achieve that. She has impeccable taste, and more importantly the knack for understanding who you are, what you want, and how to get there. She's extremely organized, busy yet calm, diplomatic... and totally delightful. (Truly, everyone who met her during our wedding weekend fell in love.) I had many ideas for what I wanted, but living in Los Angeles, it was going to be a leap of faith to coordinate with the vendors in northern California. Stacey, though, paired us up with the perfect people every time. (And if you're having an event outside the SF/Napa area, you can still use her: she's got her eye on everything fabulous in other cities as well). As a Producer & Director, I'm used to running the show. But having gotten to know Stacey, by the day of my wedding, I didn't worry for one second about vendors, timing, or a hundred possible mishaps. I just wasn't concerned because I had complete faith in her. It felt great to sit back, enjoy our guests, and take in the experience. If you have Stacey at the helm, you'll feel the same way. I've never met someone so well suited for their job - truly. Stacey has every single quality a person in this position needs. There are well known planners out there (trust me, I looked) who I can't imagine would hold a candle to her when all is said and done. And on top of that, she genuinely wants your wedding to be as wonderful as you do. I had to laugh when it was all over because, for someone who didn't want a "fairytale" wedding, that's exactly what I got. I used to snicker when people waxed that their wedding was the greatest day of their lives...and my husband and I would both now tell you with a straight face that's exactly what our wedding was. Stacy McCain is, without doubt, in the right line of work. And my fiance and I were the beneficiaries of this as she supported the planning and implementation of our spring wedding. Before we were engaged, i'd never given much thought to the complexity of wedding planning, nor was i a gal who'd done much daydreamin' about the event. I'm a bit of a tomboy who likes cute shoes, so white dress and prince charming never really made the radar screen. But enter the love-of-my-life and a wedding to plan, and you come to care that its constructed with thought and personal to you as a couple. And the wedding world is quite an arena to navigate-- from vendors to timelines for tasks and day-of, to considering your aesthetic as each piece is selected (this is a brain-bender!), and creating contingency plans, like when it forecasted 40 mph winds on the day of our wedding and Stacy, with wonderful agility, reshaped the cocktail hour to keep guests from Wizard of Oz redux. Its impossible to quantify the savings of time, worry, re-inventing the wheel, & not selecting mediocore vendors/concepts that working with Stacy allows you. AND she's a delight. Organized, focused, available, wise.. and sweet and fun too. There are seemingly no dumb questions to Stacy, which is incredible, because certainly i asked some verging on the dumb, and she never made me feel like they were. I do not have enough nice things to say about Stacy. She made our wedding day absolutely perfect! I spoke with many planners before hiring Stacy and none were as thorough and organized as she was. Her attention to detail was beyond impressive and her warm attitude put any nerves I had at ease. She went our of her way to make sure my husband and I had an amazing and stress free night. Even guest of mine told me how great she was. An example of her superb level of service was at the end of the night she overheard two of my guests talking about how they had missed the cake and as they were getting on the bus back to the hotel, Stacy found them and gave them to-go boxes with a slice of cake. We knew we needed month-of services for our Napa wedding, but since I'm one of the those organized, Type A, control freak types, we weren't sure that there would be value in hiring a planner to do more than that. Since I work a lot, however, I really pushed my fiance for it and so we started the search for someone that could meet my admittedly very high expectations. Stacy was wonderful from our first meeting. She has a very calm, sweet demeanor which becomes increasingly critical as planning stress escalates through the months! She is incredibly organized, always responsive, and great at figuring out both logistical challenges and fun creative ideas. She really helped pull my vision together, set the wedding timeline, and managed more than a dozen different vendors. Even through potential crises (there are always a few), she was on top of all the details. I have to admit that somehow I still wasn't fully sold on the value... up until the wedding weekend. It was an amazing feeling to wake up on my wedding day 100% relaxed. I didn't worry about whether vendors were arriving, things were getting set up... I just kept saying to everyone "Stacy is on it, I'm sure it's all great!" That is really no small feat because, as mentioned, I am normally a control freak. Stacy was personally on site from 8am until 1am on the day of the wedding, along with her team of awesome assistants. She had the vendors - and some rowdy groomsmen - in line and ready for action. So, my Mom and I were debating whether or not we really needed a wedding coordinator. I had already found the venue and church I wanted. I am a producer for a living. Did we really need a coordinator? The answer is YES and thank goodness it was Stacy. Stacy and her assistant Wesley were amazing. I originally booked Stacy for just the month leading up to the wedding and the day of. She proved to be so helpful (I live in Texas and was getting married in San Francisco) that we ended up hiring her for the rehearsal dinner and using her throughout the whole year leading up to the wedding. Like most brides, this was my first time getting married. It was my parent's first time to be having a wedding - and man, we had NO idea what all goes into it. From all of the details leading up to the day, and the schedule of the day itself - weddings are a whole different ball of wax. There are just things that you don't know unless you've done it a few times. I am one of the most anal people in the universe. But, I trusted Stacy and her team so completely I didn't worry about one thing. LITERALLY, on the wedding day - I did not have one concern. They even helped coordinate me not seeing the groom. And at the reception, they kept me and my family on time and the party progressing. We would have forgotten to cut the cake, eat dinner, or give a toast if it weren't for Stacy. I contacted Stacy to plan my wife's 40th birthday. I heard back a week later had a long talk, in great detail. Stacy asked where I want to do the party and I said either my backyard (if it is large enough) or a hotel banquet hall. She said she will lookup through google maps how big my backyard is and asked me a couple hotels that I prefer, if the backyard was too small. On the call I was told that the minimum cost of the party will be $20k, which I said I am OK with as long as its not $100k (stating this only to make the point that I didn't negotiate or was sticker shocked). I didn't hear back for another week, then just got an email saying your backyard is too small and that we cannot help you and good luck. Really bizzare response. I didn't reply back, but just wanted to share. This is my first yelp review as I felt the need to write this, as this particular profession is based on word of mouth more so that any other. read more
