I cried, even with warning from my husband that my son's haircut was NOT as expected... Top left is the inspo we have always used for his haircuts over the last year. Bottom left is a grown out version of the typical faded mullet he has, looks so cute with his curls. The right?????? Bottom right is my son. Top right is a random chav man. My husband asked them to take off a quarter inch from the top, but they left a quarter inch of botched, choppy slop instead. I'm sick. His curls are gone. Mullet is only a dream. Pretty good barber shop. Didn't have to wait. Decent fade. Would definitely go again.

First time at this barber shop but saw it and thought it would be great for my boys. We tried it today and we were seriously impressed. It was before lunchtime so we had the place to ourselves but by the time we left it was starting to get busy so I'm glad we went early. Both boys (7&8) are hesitant with haircuts but the two ladies put them at ease. They had toys and books for kids along with a little kid area. As the boys were in the chairs I was able to relax with a cup of coffee and use the WiFi. The place was spotless and service was wonderful. I noticed hand held massagers and the clippers are attached to vacuums so the boys weren't itchy afterward which was great. Really can't say enough about our experience we will return whenever we are in Stafford. read more

I asked for a medium skin fade and nothing off of the top. I've been getting them for over a decade and it's pretty standard to EVENLY cut a line around the head before fading it. This is regardless if there is a hard part or not. (Which I had before going in.) But now? Tell me how you take one side of the fade all the way up to the hard part and leave the other side normal? I explicitly did not mention the part so this would NOT happen. Yet here I am writing a review because a lack of communication from the person with the profession! If a barber has a tendency to not understand what the customer wants, it's THEIR job to clarify since I overly communicated upon sitting down. Absolutely irritated with the response I got from the barber when I questioned her about why she did this when I did not ask for it. Would not recommend this establishment if this is the standard. Hopefully it was an isolated incident with just one barber. read more

This place had come highly recommended by a multitude of my friends, as we constantly are on the lookout for the best fade in town. After having sampled just about everything that Stafford/Quantico has to offer, Stafford Barber has just slid into my #1 spot... An attractive quality is (like many area barbers) its proximity to Camp Barrett/TBS. I had heard that they serve you coffee, fruits, donuts, and more while you wait.. And to my satisfaction, upon entering there is a giant basket of fresh bananas and a Keurig K-Cup machine with a myriad of coffee and cocoa flavors. There is ample comfortable seating, big cozy couches and chairs, some in vicinity of a foot massager! The reading material is impressive as they have just about every magazine other than a noticeable Car&Driver/GQ-type... Not bad at. I grabbed my coffee, banana, and Men's health and sank into the couch as I waited for my turn. Turn is up, and I take my seat. The lady was super sweet and got cracking on a perfect medium-low fade with a shave.. One of the most bang-up jobs I've had. What was to come next I was unprepared for... Many barbers have massages, but at SBS, they do the best job, hitting all the aching spots on your back with a power massager for a good 5 minutes (no kidding!). Afterwards I notices a familiar face and confirmed how great the place was... I'll be here every Sunday until I move bases. read more

Been getting cuts here since about Jan 2019, about every 2 to 3 weeks unless I'm out of town...every stylist is fairly consistent with fades and blending it up real clean. They give military discount and seem to know just when to have more workers when there is a rush vs having just a few for the slow times. Never had to wait more than 15 to 20 minutes for my hair cut; often it's right around 3 to 5 minutes before I'm in a chair. They do a warm foam, razor shave at the end then top it off with a quick massage with a percussion massaging wand. Prices are within a dollar of nearby barbers, mostly a buck less than others. What seems to set this place apart is probably the volume of customers they deal with which provides that much more hair cutting experience for the ladies at this barber shop. read more

Outstanding place to get a military haircut. All the barbers are extremely nice-and good at their job. The shop itself is very clean, tidy, and they offer coffee, doughnuts, and candy (for the kids). Keeping the target audience in mind, they also offer a kids table with toys and coloring books, while having many nice couches to sit on while watching the game on their many large flat screens. read more

If you're African American or Latino with textured hair, I would not recommend this spot. If you want anything outside of a high and tight I wouldn't recommend this spot. I actually came here for the high and tight. Seemed like something they couldn't get wrong. They don't use a straight razor. Only disposable ones. The skin fade had a bunch of patches on the side. I had to tell the lady countless times things to fix. It's almost like they cut but don't really look at it to make sure things are lined up or if it's cut correctly. Shape ups? FORGET ABOUT IT! My shape up was totally jacked up! Bottom lined, I was not impressed at all! The other Barber Shop had closed and I was desperate. I should've just waited. I won't be coming back here. read more

Woman messed my hair up and I went back today to get it fixed. One of the other barbers began looking at me and then said something nasty in Korean to the woman cutting my hair. Real dumb to do that with so many active duty and vets around here. They had a chance to win my business back but got defensive. The hair cutter jerked my head around a little then grabbed the mirror out of my hand. First, speak English, second, show some manners. Place sucks. The best place to get a military reg cut. I've been to 610 barber and on base but this one is the best. The ladies are friendly and nice. Good choice of free snacks and coffee. they take their time cutting your hair and finish with a good massage. I think it was $8 for a cut but can't remember for sure. read more

I used to go to 610 Barber religiously, and had a favorite barber there (Nicole). They were great but extremely popular (for good reasons). My barber moved over to Stafford Barber Shop, so I followed her. Kind of like when you find a good mechanic, you stick with them, right? Stafford Barber is right down the street but inside a strip shopping center with Aldi and Powerkix. Not as "standing room capacity" as 610 Barber, but they are awesome. Plenty of space, less waiting, and the other barbers there do a great job as well. I usually go "high and tight", and there's nothing like getting the shaved part done with a straight razor! Friendly and you feel like they take pride in their work. Finished off with the shoulder massage, and you leave looking forward to your next visit. Don't let this "out of the way" escape you! UPDATE: Stafford Barber has been so successful, they now have a "satellite location" inside of Walmart on Garrisonville Rd (Rte 610) at Mine Rd, by the cash registers next to McDonalds. read more

Here in Stafford there is a plethora of barbershops, and I've tried a few. If you want a military regulation cut, you are in luck, they all do this. With the Quantico MCB and FBI academy, there is a large demand for this type of haircut. What's weird is almost every establishment is run by Korean women. Most of them do an excellent fade/taper type of cut. As far as the top of your head, you aren't going to get any kind of styling. Anything you get is going to look military. I'm a fan of short hairstyles and side parts, but I want the top textured so if I want to style it in different ways I can. Most of the women do not speak English that well, so you can't really explain what you want. Most guys are at the academy or Marine OCS and all get a short regulation cuts, but anything out of the ordinary is beyond their capabilities due to the language barrier. If you want a military cut, any of the shops in the area do this, with a razor shave-though not a straight razor, they use disposable multi blade razors. I question the sterility of this practice as I don't think they change the razor every cut. I guess you clean it off, but I wouldn't use a used razor on my face. If you don't really care that much about style and just want a fade or taper and the top short, this is a great place. It's big inside and comfortable, but anything that requires an explanation-forget it as you can not understand these ladies. Every place I've been also does the massage, which is nice. I just wish they could understand me and use a little pomade and style my hair at the end like you get at a classic barbershop. read more
