I needed a small, 12 page story book printed. I made sure he had my phone number and forwarded the content to him via email and he assured me I could pick it up on Friday. I came in Friday and he told me "oh, I couldn't do it" Stunned I asked "Why not?" He explained the way the slides were laid out, he couldn't print them in order. I said, trying to hide my frustration, "I wish you would have called me. I could have adjusted it for you." He replied, " I couldn't find your number. Mind you, he had my email because the content was sent to him via email but whatever. I tried to adjust the layout on the computer in the shop, but while I was trying, he figured it out. That to me meant if he had spent a few minutes trying to figure it out while doing the job, he could have completed the job. Now he assured me I could pick it up on Monday. I called before I got there because they close at 5 and it was 4:30 and I was just getting to the commuter lot. I wanted to make sure he knew I was still coming to pick it up. Good thing I called because when I got there at 4:45, he was just printing it. It was almost like he heard my message and thought, crap I better do that now. When I finished he gave me this poorly laid out book and the whole book is out of order. The last page is the first page. A simple two minute read through or at least comparison with what I provided would have made it obvious this was out of order. Annoyed, but still being too pleasant, I told him it was out of order. He put the pages in order and printed it again. This time it was in order but it just looks stupid. There is a cover image with a blank page right next to it. (See photo) as a professional printer, I would have been embarrassed to present this to a customer. Now I don't have time to get this reprinted and I'm stuck with 5 copies of a book I'm embarrassed to present to anyone.. In all of the errors and communication failures, not once did he apologize or express a single ounce of remorse for this poor service. This job was handled so poorly, I felt disrespected. I'm not sure why my experience is so different from whomever gave him 5 stars, but I wouldn't use this shop to make a single copy

Before going in I felt a little embarrassed about asking them to embroider just two small things, but the people who helped me made me feel anything but embarrassed; they offered excellent suggestions and were just as attentive to detail and to me as I imagine they'd be for a whole sports team. I also assured them that while the anniversary was the next day, the last minuteness was totally my fault, and they absolutely didn't have to rush it just to make up for my procrastination. But! Not only did they finish the job in time -- they finished it the same day I came in, and gave me a courtesy call to let me know I could pick the aprons up. The aprons turned out fantastic, and my dad immediately put his on and couldn't wait to give the other one to his grandkid. I highly recommend these folks for their attention to detail, patience, kindness, efficiency, professionalism, and quality of work!

What I found : Will Grier of TShirtsRU.com based out of Woodbridge, Virginia. What I also found was a man with nearly 2 decades of diverse printing experience whose focus isn't on the almighty dollar, but rather the customer, what the customer wants, and what will put a smile across their faces. Which is how I left Will's shop yesterday. Grin from ear to ear. It's rare that I find a company I'm willing to drool over online, but Will (and his amazing wife) do a phenomenal job, and while I'm hesitant about telling the world about this hidden gem of a growing print shop in Rippon Landing because I don't want there to be a line out the door (which will inevitably happen with customer service like Will's), I also think that this guy and his growing custom t-shirt print shop deserve all the lime light they can get.
