As an adult theater - the shows range from safe to edgy, which is great to see as it appeals to a broad audience. I'd like to see more edge but all theaters have to keep the lights on, you know? They attract talented actors and directors. The black box is minimal in all senses of the word, but it never hurts the quality. I'd rather see a bare bones set if the show is done well than big budget designs with terrible direction or acting. As a children's theater - all efforts are made to teach their young performers more than just how to stand and look cute. The shows are fun and less "cheesy" than your average kids' productions. You can tell how much work goes into these shows, both on and off stage. Parking is free, there are plenty of refreshments that aren't priced to break the bank, and the staff is warm and welcoming. Sure, there is room for improvement. But for a theater company just now in the end of their second season, they are running like a well oiled machine. Seasoned professionals are behind this operation, and it shows. Check them out!!!

I usually ADORE this location, but this situation caused a lot of trouble. (see bottom of review for summary/how I wish it was handled. Today (Thursday, Dec 4th), I was trying to purchase tickets to see the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie for tomorrow (Dec 5) at 7:20pm for me, my boyfriend and our two other friends to go watch. Unfortunately, right as I had purchased my tickets, the website seemed to have glitched. My screen showed "An error has occurred. Please try again." to which I was originally fine with trying to purchase again, but that was until I saw a notification from my apple wallet app that it had charged my card. I searched my email, kendall account, and even my junk mail. No tickets were popping up, so I called Kendall. Originally the girl I spoke to on the phone was nice and understanding, and could probably smell my anxiety through the phone, as I hate confrontation. She explains that there are no seats reserved under my name for that showing whatsoever, and that she'll contact her manager to see if there's anything that they can do besides me just getting a refund within 3-5 business days. (aka, without having to repurchase anything due to how im a broke high school student who can't afford to buy a second set of tickets). I was put on hold, which was no problem as I don't mind the music that was being played. The manager picks up and I re-explain the entire situation. The manager proceeds to tell me that "That usually happens when theres too many people on the website, you'll have to wait for a refund." Her tone was flat, harsh, and frustrated, and I don't necessarily blame her! Work is stressful and I understand if it's been a long day. What I don't understand is why the fact that the website is glitchy isn't stated anywhere during your checkout process, or on the website at all really. I get it's a technical error, less human error, however I just think they can be smarter with ensuring their customers have a seamless experience on the website without having to call and ask what happened. Because lets be honest, nobody likes phone calls. I'm not necessarily upset at anyone, more so frustrated with the whole situation. My only wish is that: a) I got a refund immediately so I could re-purchase or get the tickets I originally bought given to me b) Gotten the names of the two workers I spoke to on the phone. One being a what I'm assuming front desk worker, and the other being the manager who was working 12/4/2025 @ 10pm. This was a lengthy review, however I just wanted to ensure people who purchase on the website are aware of the glitchy/crashing thats very common apparently.

The space - which in its past served as a dining room to the professionals working below - is open and flexible, capable of being adapted to whatever a performance demands, be it seats on risers, seats on the floor, and any combination thereof, facing any direction. The building itself is a historic gem, and a sight to see in its own right, with beautiful architectural and design elements that just aren't embraced these days. One detriment to the building's age, however, is the sole, slow elevator that everyone will be forced to use, unless you fancy taking the stairs from eight floors up. Toss in the intermittent interruptions of trains passing through town, and that's enough to knock a star off. As an actor, it's not bad. You'll probably only have one way of entering the stage, unless your director gives you an aisle through the audience. But having that big limestone fireplace makes any set feel that much more real, a real treat. Plenty of space to stretch out in the green room is also an appreciated feature. You just may have to sneak to the bathrooms you'll share with the audience. Ample parking is just down the hill, and if you're hitting up a Sunday matinee, by all means, stop by Arabica Cafe beforehand, basically just across the street.

However, the other day I was feeling much better and mustered up the energy to finally see Wicked For Good. I always drive past this theatre when I'm running errands, and it's actually the closest theatre to my house. So, I figured it was time to test this place out. I came without purchasing a ticket in advance. First thing I like about this theatre is you can purchase your ticket on the kiosk. You select your movie, then you select what type of seat you want- a standard recliner or a cuddlier seat. It was just me so I selected the recliner which was $7.95. I do like the idea of the cuddlier sofa though, that's super cute for couples. However, when I tried to pick where I wanted to sit only one seat was available to book. Which was very surprising to me because the theater wasn't that full and the movie has been out for months now. Thinking it was a glitch of the kiosk, I went to the counter to purchase tickets. Then I saw the screen where I could pick my seat and again there was only one seat I could pick. So I picked that seat thinking the theater wasn't going to be jammed packed (spoiler it wasn't). So, that's the only thing I was confused about. Why were seats block off when the theater wasn't full. Other than this mishap I really enjoyed my experience here. Luckily my seat ended up being a decent seat and it was exceptionally comfortable. There was a red button you could push which I assumed was a seat warmer, I pushed it but I didn't notice any changes in the temperature of my seat. For food I got a medium sprite and a large popcorn. It costs me about $18. Which is typical. I will say next time I'll order a medium popcorn, the large was so big I wasn't able to finish it before the movie was over! All in all this is a very solid theater. Very friendly employees, seats are comfortable and clean, oh and I forgot to mention they have a bar. So that's pretty cool. I can definitely see myself returning here again!

When moving to the area in DeKalb I asked another dance teacher from another studio we used to go…read moreuntil we moved- who knows a lot of people where I should bring my daughter and son five years ago when moving to the area -I was told to go to Beth Fowler School of Dance. So I called and talked to Beth the owner. She was so personable and positive. Even when I mentioned my son who has Down Syndrome and how he needed structure. She assured me he would do well there and they were completely accepting of any child no matter their differences. This alone made me shout inside. Loved the acceptance and they proved this right! When starting there five years ago -my daughter was a beginner and my son was in hip hop only. They loved it immediately! Teachers so supportive and encouraging. Good structure of classes and as a teacher in a high school I appreciated that. My daughter would come home and brag about Miss Brooke and how she was her favorite teacher- still does. In five years, I have never had to make them go to dance. They tell me when it is time to leave. Now, my daughter is still in classes and also is on the dance team. she has gotten so good- they have scores and has improved so much in three years of team. My son is still in classes for hip hop and loves it. I cannot stress enough the positives that have come out especially since in quarantine but Miss Allix, Miss Janelle, Miss Brooke, Miss Beth, Miss Rachel, Mr. Miguel and Me. Robert- I cannot say enough about the staff. Miss Becky, Miss Taryn, and Miss Kaitlin for also subbing for my kids. using online teaching and keeping them busy as well by still focusing on technique! I could not ask for a better staff. My daughter and my Son absolutely enjoy going there. The shows are wonderful and so well organized. I always help because I enjoy helping Madelyn and helping the studio for all they have done to be this positive force. Doing online classes and having lunch with our kids during this time of quarantine. I can not say enough about this studio. Even the receptionists are so helpful and polite when needing anything. Thank you to everyone that pushes my daughter - and encourages my daughter and son to enjoy, motivate, encourage, and being such a role model to my kids. If you are looking for a studio for your family-THIS IS THE ONE! They even allow you to try a class before enrolling to make sure you like it. Now that is amazing! I feel like part of a family there. Beth has a great amount of knowledge and has taught my daughter so much. My middle daughter just started dance and can be a bit of a handful, but Beth and the other instructors have been extremely helpful and patient. I can't wait to have my youngest daughter start dance. Not only have my daughters danced, but my son has performed in a couple shows. Such a great experience for all kids! And the shows are wonderful for the whole family!
