Our need to find a restroom was prodigious, and Judd's appeared like an oasis in the desert. "Lotto, Guns, Ammo, Beer" isn't just a slogan--it's the real deal here. In addition to countless vehicles getting a new lease on life, I'm fairly certain that minor surgeries have been performed here, relationships have started (and ended) in the parking lot, and multiple generations of family lives have spent countless hours in this place. Judd's is just the sort of place where one imagines a lot of life has been lived. I'm a stickler for spending money at establishments where I use the bathroom, so I kitted myself with some tasty beef jerky and a McCoy Knife Company pocketknife (Mt. Ida, Arkansas), which I'm fairly certain is sharp enough for whatever surgical needs might stray into Judd's.

A ypong woman with an infant manned the register as the flat panel near the ceiling played baby education music. There are so many old photos, collection pieces and local items for sale I thought the bearded man in the corner was one of those "stuffed" propped up miners or cowboys seen in older businesses.
