Really only game in town to buy alcohol (so we could have some at our hotel). Closed on the 1st day we were in town (odd sign on the door saying closed for Juneteenth holiday..but that was on Friday) ?? Returned on Tuesday..got what we need.. Prices were decent. read more

Switchback Trading Company was next door to my hotel and made a great stop for small items like light toiletries, snacks, and a few souvenir stickers. They also carry quite the nice selection of beer, wine, and liquor, which, from my understanding, is the only place in town you can get that. Though I didn't go for any of that personally as I was traveling on my own and not quite in the mood. But it's there if you want it! I will say the staff person the first day I went was not exactly pleasant and it almost kept me from returning, but since it was convenient I stopped in again and had a much better experience. read more

This is a great little gift shop that also sells wine!! It's hard to find wine and liquor because in Utah, grocers can't sell those things. So you have to find a liquor store, which are few and far between. Came across this little gem that sold a great variety of wine and liquor. HOORAH!!! They also have a great selection of clothes and hats and other souvenirs. Prices are pretty decent. They have postcards but not many of Zion. Most were from other vacation spots in Utah...maybe they were about to restock, so not a huge deal. But definitely need to get more Zion ones. read more

Very disappointed in this place. We stopped in to look for souvenirs and bought a t-shirt. The clerk however also rang up a random sweatshirt that was on the back counter and had a loose tag. It wasn't discovered until she rang my card for $90 which clearly wasn't right. She however had no idea how to do a credit - nor did the other person in the store. I mean neither employee can process a credit - for a mistake you made? So we tried stopping in a different day to address it and they were closed - on a Sunday. I tried calling them multiple times when we returned from our vacation and left messages and no one would return them - including there corporate accounting line. Our credit card company tried to investigate and they couldn't make a determination which I don't blame them. So I basically paid $90 for a t-shirt because the staff is not properly trained - great. read more

Good place for wine selection at very reasonable prices. They also have liquor for reasonable prices. Only reason for not 5 stars is a strong odor when we went. We weren't sure if it was new a candle fragrance or what it was, but if so it nailed the "airplane lavatory" smell. Otherwise would definitely come here to grab drinks for later read more

Very nice gift shop, but very expensive! Purchased 3 Zion shirts for $85. Needed to return one and was unable to since they do NOT take returns. It never said this anywhere on my receipt. They had a huge sign next to register about no returning of alcohol, but missed their small sign about returns of gift merchandise. The receipt does not say no returns on the front or back of it and the lady at the register did not point this out to me. read more

Only liquor store in town! Guess you can't beat that. The wine isn't chilled so don't ask where it is. Selection is sparse.

So thankful this was so close to Zion. Huge lifesaver. Everyone needs liquor on vacation!

Love their wine store cause there not many around Springdale. And we bought couple of bottles of great wine that is cheaper then in stores in LA. Always good to be back there and look around gift shop. read more

Are you traveling to Zion/Springdale from another state? Are you desperately trying to find a place to buy some wine or beer or anything in the alcohol variety? Have you looked online to try to find a Utah State Run liquor store in Springdale to no avail? Well, come to Switchback Trading Company (located next door to the Switchback Grill; in fact, they share an entrance, but the restaurant is to the left once you enter and the booze is to the right). My husband and I recently went to Springdale for a long weekend (we were there for the Zion Half Marathon). We are wine lovers and failed to remember the challenge it is to purchase alcohol in Utah. We searched for a state run liquor store and didnt have any luck; but my husband managed to find the Switchback Trading Company thanks to a Reddit thread. Walk into Switchback Trading Company and pass several tables filled with Springdale & Zion T-Shirts and other touristy items; halfway back on the back wall is the booze in its own separate "21 and over room". Wine, hard liquor, beer.... not the greatest selection but considering its the ONLY selection in Springdale you cant complain too much. The other option, of course, is to plan ahead and bring your own wine/beer/etc... because thats exactly what we will be doing the next time we come to Zion. Good luck! :) read more

I am hiking with a group of friends and a few of us decided to stop in to grab a few things. Linda was the cashier on duty and was polite and said hello to the customers she was helping. After gathering our items, we all got in line to pay separately. Linda said hello to both of my friends who checked out before me. I approached the counter and Linda suddenly was cold and didn't say a word to me. She rang up my items and told me the total and that was it. As I left the counter and the customer who was standing behind me approached the counter, Linda said "hello!". The only common denominator that I can establish between all of the customers Linda spoke to is that they were all Caucasian (including my two friends). Clearly, I am a black woman but that shouldn't dictate how I am treated as a customer. I do not intend to return to this establishment due to their racist cashier Linda. read more

Good wine selection. The Rib Eye is really something, cooked to perfection. The sides are great. I will definitely return to this place.

One of the only places we found alcohol available in Utah. We were able to buy bottles of bourbon and vodka for very reasonable prices. Most restaurants only serve beer and wine. read more

To echo Ashley T's comments below, some of the cashiers at this gift shop are extremely rude towards black customers. My daughter and her friend purchased some items there and received serious attitude from a cashier named Krista (or Christa). First, my daughter overheard Krista complaining out loud to another person about all the shirts my daughter's friend was unfolding, and that she'd have to re-fold them. Okay, this is a gift shop with hundreds of different t-shirts - what do you want or expect customers to do?? She ended up purchasing TWO overpriced t-shirts as well as some other overpriced merchandise, which I'm guessing the owner of the store would be happy with. Talk about lazy employees! And then after ringing up several Caucasian customers with cheer and smiles she rudely asked my daughter's friend if her credit card was actually hers and then demanded to see her ID. I actually do think it's fair for a merchant to ask for a customer's ID, but not when it's asked rudely after basically accusing her of using a stolen credit card, and especially after ringing up Caucasian customers before her without asking for a single ID. Is this racial bias representative of Springdale? I hope not, although it certainly appears to be commonplace at this store. I'm guessing that most people in Utah would find this behavior offensive and repugnant. It's a shame that a beautiful vacation be marred by such a small-minded fool. read more
