i gave this place 5 stars because the haircut, service and parking are good, but the price shot up a bit since i started going. the receptionist is very nice and they get to you very soon if you come in early. they use keratine and bumble & bumble products which is a plus. ive also tried a million stylists before i landed on michelle. she is awesome because she will listen to you and tell you what she thinks. i went in once and she thought a pixie would look good and i said nah, so she forgot it, no pushiness. another time i asked for short bangs and she refused, "you'll hate it, i wont do it". ha ha. she was right. anyway, its a cute place and they rock. read more

Highly recommend Khepri Pattison. She is ahhhmazing. I had been going to her for years and then had to move to San Francisco for a job. One would think in this city you could find a good stylist but I have yet to find one as competent, talented, hip or awesome. In fact, I had so many bad experiences with "colorists" up here that I now plan my trips back to San Diego around my hair just so I can see Khepri. She knows what she is doing and has never screwed up a haircut or color and I always feel great when I leave an appointment. I have been coming to Khepri ever since I moved here from TX in 2014, SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST! My color and condition were in super poor shape and after only 3 appointments she turned my dry, gold color to a well blended, rich blonde. As luck would have it, I'm moving back to TX in a few weeks but I will be flying back to San Diego every 6-8 weeks just to get my hair done... that's how good she is. read more

Been going for years and years. Quality stylists that are up to date on techniques and current hair styles. Always a professional reception that includes a call the day before to remind you of your appointment. I just get my hair done, but they also do nails etc. They seem to have a happy staff with very little turnover. As a reply to the previous reviewer....a BAD hair cut or color seems to stay with you a VERY long time time when you are the one wearing it!!! read more

I had my hair cut by Arlet. It is the worst haircut of my life. It is curly and layered and the layers are not even and the way she cut it dry, it is a frizzy mess. It is as if she gave me split ends. She did not give me the cut I showed her of myself in 3 pictures but said, "hairdressers all have their own way of cutting hair". Anyway, I will go to a new salon next week to have it recut and sadly now, I will have sort hair after growing it out for 6 months. I told her not to cut the length (which she did, maybe 2 inches) but the bottom layer is so thin and scraggly I will have to get another 2 inches cut off to get any weight back into the cut. I would find someone else if you have naturally curly hair. read more

Tami took me in as a late appointment and worked on my hair for 2 1/2 hours. It was the most amazing transformation. I would have paid any price for that visit, but she only charged me her going rate. I have been her loyal client for 4 years and sent several friends and family her way. Stainless Salon!! Wow!! I have been going to Stainless for 4 - 5 years at this point. It is an upscale, modern, super clean, super well run salon. Everyone I see leaving there, male and female, walks out with a little more bounce in their step...looking fabulous! I met my stylist, Elaine, when I first took a chance going there. I had been abroad for many years and my hair was in terrible, and I mean terrible, shape. I was looking for a miracle to help fix my hair. She did it!! Elaine consulted with me, gave me ideas, and listened to my concerns. She is an artist!! I have changed my hair colors, styles a few times, and she has always given me feedback on what my hair can do and not do, which I cannot express how much I appreciate. This salon caters to women who want Brazilian Blowouts. The salon does NOT have proper ventilation, so patrons that opt NOT to have Brazilians are forced to breathe the hazardous formaldehyde fumes. Stainless' solution to the fumes is to leave the front doors open, even during winter so the salon is freezing cold. They offer no wi-fi or internet, so don't plan on staying in touch with work when you slip out to have your hair done. The stylists at the salon are all very nice, but the environment at Stainless is cold, lacks a spa-type experience, and puts patrons at risk to breathe formaldehyde gases whether they choose to or not. I left the salon freezing cold because the doors had to be open during these very cold record-setting winter nights due to the fumes. I had a headache, felt dizzy, and my eyes, nose, and throat were burning because of the fumes by the time that I left the salon. Stay away if you are sensitive to the formaldehyde fumes. read more
