Brandon and his team are about as good as it gets. Echoing the comments of others, you can count on Brandon to be incredibly communicative. I was joking with him that when I saw his number at 6:30PM the night before the job was to start, I was fairly worried that he was calling to push the start date. Nope. Just calling to let me know he would be on-time and that we were all set. With regard to the project, we asked Brandan and his team to install cast acrylic (Lucite) banisters together with newels and railing he thought most appropriate for our split-level entry. First of all, he picked the perfect items for the look we were seeking to create. Secondly, the entire team was kind, professional and worked diligently to finish the project on the same day as promised. Most notably, the quality of workmanship is absolutely outstanding. My sole regret is that I cannot find more contractors with the character and quality offered by Stairs by Rogers. read more

We had new railing with wrought iron balusters installed by Brandon at Stairways by Rogers. His team-Will and Josh who performed the work did a great job and were communicative. He did the work on the days he promised. Started and finished when he said he would. Why I did not give 5 stars 1. They only do railing and nothing else. So reinstalling the trim and caulking afterwards- brandon made it sound like he was doing a favor. We still need to get a painter to paint over the trim afterwards. They could easily contract with a painter to come and complete the job after they finish their part. 2. I noticed many shoes come unstuck few months later and sent Brandon an email asking how to glue them back. Got no response. Still they did their job well, on time and no surprises. Brandon and his team re-did both of our stairways and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. He replaced the spindles with metal ones, installed new custom made railings and posts, and even had the foresight to recommend changing the piece at the bottom to enable us to put hardwood floors in like we had planned without a strange shoe molding piece. His team was a pleasure to work with. They cleaned up completely each night and left it better than they found it. Not only that, but they were nice guys who respected my home and my children. My husband and I just did our stair rails and we are beyond happy with the results. Brandon and his whole team were AMAZING!!! Brandon was upfront that we would have to wait over a month and a half to get an installation date, but it was totally worth it. I want to give you fair warning when reading this review. There probably couldn't be any more buzzwords in a review that could be any more appropriate than what you'll find here. Brandon and his crew couldn't be any more professional, accommodating, timely, responsive, meticulous, understanding, respectful, honest or fair. Upon first reaching out to Brandon we set up a time for him to come out and do a free estimate which he showed up on time to. He went over all of their options discussed everything that we wanted and gave us an estimate right on the spot. He was understanding when we explained our timeline and was able to accommodate us in that respect. He does a visit a week prior to starting the job to ensure that everything is as we expect. His crew is very professional, respectful, careful, and diligent in their work. The job would've been done timely had I not made a mistake which required additional ordering of materials and another day on the job for them; which to Brandon's credit, they were very understanding and accommodating because they believe in giving the customer what they truly desire and are willing to do what they need to do to make the customer happy. And I have to admit, he should've been very frustrated because the staining that they needed to do to match our flooring was very time-consuming and labor-intensive. He handled that snafu very admirably- which just emphasizes his dedication to excellence. The results are absolutely beautiful and worth it all. I would recommend Brandon and Stairways by Rodgers to anyone desiring to renovate their stairs. They exceeded every expectation and increased the value of our home. Brandon and his father replaced our iron stair railings with wooden ones in Arlington about 10 years ago. They have lasted beautifully. A place on our wall needed a matching railing. I contacted Brandon, and he came to add the matching railing. No one even notices the new railing because it looks like part of the initial installation. This has been hard deciding what to write in this review, and what rating to give. As always, there are two sides to the story. I have been told I have Parkinson's, so we have been modifying the house, including new carpeting and getting handrails on both sides of the stairs. We contacted the owner early this summer and solicited a bid. Brandon was quick to respond, and guesstimated over the phone that it would cost about $3k (we also emailed pictures). On site, the bid rose to $4200 or so. We wanted painted rails, to be less conspicuous. Brandon said he hated doing any painting, but we did not get the hint. We also decided to have the painting contractor paint more rooms after getting Brandon's bid. Brandon's crew worked here 8/7 and 8/10. The mechanical aspect of the installation went well ... turning outside corners is difficult, finicky work. Our rating derives largely from (1) the lack of care they took to protect the recently painted walls and trim, especially after we told them we had recently painted, and after they had told us there would "only be a few pencil marks;" (2) the extra care they tried to take on the 10th after we complained, showing they could do so if they wished; (3) the roughness of the prepainted railing sections; (4) the mismatched paint on the brackets (some glossy white, some flat white) and (5) the considerable number of damaged screws, apparently due to the use of a #2 Phillips bit in #3 Phillips head screws. I spent several days part-time pulling and repainting brackets and replacing badly damaged screws, and paid the painting contractor to come back, patch several spots on the drywall, double-coat the handrails with smoother paint, and touch up the walls and trim. Our painter had to heavily sand the rails because of the rough "orangepeel" texture. Brandon will say that we didn't tell him in advance we were repainting (true), and that we should have painted afterward (questionable; the original rails in this house were clearly installed after it was painted). He might point out that we paid him in full and told the work crew that the job was done (also true). What he cannot tell you is that, with their lack of care in working in our house, we had already decided by the evening of 8/7 to let them finish the woodworking and pay them in full to avoid further conflict (Brandon had been rather unprofessional when my wife called him that evening to discuss our concerns). In addition, we had just finished a $13,000 recarpeting project, and were unwilling to let them open a can of paint anywhere in our house. read more

Brandon and his team were absolutely amazing. I honestly can not say enough nice things about them. Throughout the whole decision process Brandon was extremely helpful and informative. Once they started, they were on time, cleaned up each day thoroughly, paid attention to detail and finished the job earlier than anticipated. They even did some extra work that we didnt discuss (i.e. my dogs nails made some scratches in my uncarpeted stairs and since they had the stain they filled it in so the stairs they didnt touch look better than they did before they came!). I work from home so was home every day and the three guys who did the install were very nice and respectful of me working. I am very meticulous and I couldnt find one thing that they didnt do. I had them redo my railings and spindles in my front hallway and the second staircase in my family room. Additionally they removed the first step to make my round bottom step square - so had to stain that step which matches perfectly. They also removed the ugly sides of my stair which looked dated and added new sides. Then also painted the fronts of my steps white. It looks so amazing now!!! I would recommend Brandon and his team to anyone - you absolutely wont regret it! read more

I found Brandon to be extremely arrogant and unprofessional. Called him to do some work and he said that if he physically came to my house to give me an estimate it would cost me a couple hundred more dollars just for his time. He also wanted me to pay him cash and I can only assume why when running a business. I had told him the day before I had to go to work in the morning. I also told him the day before not to worry someone would be at my house if I wasn't when he got there which was supposed to be noon. He calls me the day he was supposed to be at my house and is asking where I am an when I'm going to be home. I said I didn't have an exact time and he rudely answered well I need to know when you will be there, I need to make sure I get paid. I was pretty floored and said not to worry I would be home before he finished the job considering the job was going to take at least 4 hours. So about an hour and a half later I was done with work and contacted the person at my house, he wasn't even at my home yet, he was still up north with another job. I was shocked that he would call me up and worry about being paid when he not only wasn't at my house, but was hours from being there. I would never recommend him or his company for anything. I can't comment on his work because we never even got that far, which says everything. read more
