This a beautiful building and has lots of space and potential. That's about it…read more On the day of my son's wedding we had to spend 45 minuets cleaning the reception hall as it had cake, glass and candy all over the floor. The court yard had cake, napkins and solo cups all over. The room that was used for the ceremony had salsa or ketchup all over the beautiful fire place and cake on several chairs. They sent a person to come clean the court yard but all he did was blow everything under the bushes. Needless to say the wedding was a late start. Heard today that they are claiming that we left the kitchen dirty, the caters cleaned it and I double checked it as that was part of our agreement. They claimed the reception hall floor had sticky stuff on it. Yes it did it was from the event the night before that we had to clean up. They are refusing to give my son his full deposit back unless he comes mops the floor. Never mind the cleaning that we as a family had to do that had nothing to do with us. Again this could be an amazing venue a beautiful old charming building but the maintenance and management needs lots of improvement!!!! We documented all we did to clean up with pics and was on the phone with the lady who was apologetic and stated she would make it up to them. Today when my son reminded her of this, he was me with "we have video of it being clean" all this even after all the calls back and forth on the day of the wedding. The video she sent to my son has no date or time stamp but we know what we walked into. Tonight tithe lady managing told my son that the people who had the place before them left the deposit so that they would do the cleaning. Well someone missed it.

Fast forward 20 years and we had the opportunity to come out here for a restaurant week special. Brad, the owner, is a huge proponent of the culinary scene in town and was one of the first people to sign up for the inaugural Yakima Valley restaurant week and as such we obviously had to check it out again! Birchfield manor, as the name implies, is indeed a large home. It's got a relatively large dining area downstairs that encompasses a couple of rooms. It holds roughly 30 people and there are a number of bed-and-breakfast type rooms upstairs as well as in an accompanying facility next-door. The place feels much more out in the country than it actually is. It's about five minutes from the freeway and literally three blocks from a bale breaker's brewery! For the restaurant week festivities, they put on a special $25 per person, three-course dinner. It was downright amazing! Brad is an incredibly talented chef and really showcased his talents this evening. We had six at our table so we ended up sampling a bit of everything. The wine list is solid and highlighted a lot of local wines with the remained being from Washington state. Bravo! It started off with some delicious bread and probably the best butter that any of us have ever experienced. It's rare that I am significantly impressed by butter, but they definitely did it here. It had some really nice herbs in it and reset alongside some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was a combination of freshly baked loves and some cheddar biscuits. Definitely ate a lot more bread than we should've! The Grilled bread salad was magnificent. Tomatoes, lovely greens, mozzarella and grilled croutons made it one of the more memorable salads I've ever had. For the main course, our table basically passed around the different dishes that were available. They included a Lamb Bolognaise, A steak Diane and the signature dish - King Salmon en Croute. All of them were absolutely delicious. The steak Diane was particularly good. The sauce was really nice and the meet was done just perfectly. It takes a lot to impress us with steak, but they definitely did it here. The salmon dish was also particularly good. It was basically a king salmon fillet in a puff pastry with a Yakima Chardonnay sauce. The accoutrements were elegantly done and included some sautéed vegetables, cylindrical couscous and some very nice zucchini with tomatoes on top. The presentation was wonderful and everything was good enough to share or keep to yourself, whatever your pleasure! For dessert, a delicious double chocolate cake was the initial delight with the fabled chocolate swan making rounds to finish the night! It was all a perfect ending to a great evening. By the end of the night we were impressed with the food, drink, decor and the service- hard to not love everything they're doing here! We'll be back for an occasion other than restaurant week, soon!

The concept behind the space is both cool and ambitious, and after seeing yet it's the sort of spot that belongs in any small town! This is an old cold storage warehouse that has been transformed into a meeting space, art gallery and a number of small business spaces. The space is really creative and impressively laid out. More impressive however is the fact that this business incubation space from a town of a few thousand has already produced a number of businesses that now employ people all over the state. The area with the art displays is relatively small but houses some really cool photography, multiple media art and more modern art that I admittedly am not smart enough to understand! Throughout the year, they have very impressive displays that have come from all of the world. Not the sort of thing you'd expect in a town the size! The larger conference room area is simple, very versatile and ultimately captures the essence of the area perfectly. Flanked by fruit pallets andlarge doorways that lead into old cold storage rooms, it's as beautiful as it is simple. One of the cooler pieces is also located in this room. It's a simple large metal ball housed on a circular metal track that is nearly continuously going around on the track. It was one of those things that we didn't appreciate when it started, but by the end of the night we found it to be very relaxing. Strange, especially for somebody who doesn't generally appreciate art, but by the end of the night we were trying to figure out if there was a way to get one at our house. The dinner that was housed here was incredible and without going into details of the food, we all felt like the atmosphere created by this unique local spot really heightened the experience. Mighty Tieton is complete proof that you don't have to be a big city to have a unique space that works as a business incubator and has a really cool gathering spot. A+ on this beautifully done space in the mighty town of Tieton, WA!

We were married Labor Day weekend and there's nothing prettier than this place drenched in sunshine. Eileen and Wes know their stuff. They've done tons of weddings and they've got it down! They offer several service packages; we opted for their "Wisteria Package", which included help on the day, ceremony & rehearsal coordination, parking attendants, table/chair transitions, and more... this made it so easy for us on the day. We met with Eileen ahead of time, to pick out linens and rental options (all offered on-site for your perusal), and to nail down the rest of the details. We chose Wes as our DJ, and were able to discuss our music choices well ahead of time, too. Afterwards, we heard nothing but good feedback about Wes, so I can confidently recommend his services as a DJ, too. These two are incredibly knowledgeable and were an excellent resource as I planned the event. They helped shape my timeline, advised on anything I was unsure about, and made the whole process much easier than I could have hoped for. By the time the wedding date arrived, there was very little that needed my attention and I was able to enjoy my day!
