There was a lovely souvenir spot. Very small but it has some cute shit. I got a shirt. GF got a sweatshirt. We then got coffee. There was a long line. That felt like a good sign. I got the nutty pedestrian which was good. GF got a frosty something. As a whore for anything mint flavored, I was expecting this to knock it out of the park but it wasn't as minty or as sweet as I would have preferred. Next, we went for the candy place and bakery. I was disappointed to not see one Kringle in this place. Oh well. The gigantic cookies would have to suffice. We got regular chocolate chip, oatmeal chocolate chip, and a Wisconsin something or other. The Wisconsin something or other had like walnuts, craisins, and chocolate chips. Delicious. The standard chocolate chip was fantastic as well. The candy was really good too. Finally, we topped everything off with empanadas which were spectacular. I reviewed that separately. We picked the evening to go hoping to see the beautiful yellow lights (and I recommend you to go in the evening too - same food same drinks same shops but the view is more beautiful). The ornaments and lights indeed made it festive, but there were surprisingly not many tents and people. And there was no music. The market felt kind of tiny, empty and quiet on the huge, open Fiserv Forum Plaza ground. Maybe as the holiday season approaches, the vibe will get better. Here are the things that we did and enjoyed: 1. Got the warm, creamy, rich Belgian hot chocolate in the super cute Milwaukee souvenir mug. It's $11 with the mug which is pricey for such a small size of drink. But I liked the mug a lot and thought sharing a mug of hot chocolate with someone you love on a cold winter evening is kind of sweet. 2. Different handmade crafts from Germany, blankets from Peru, outwear, tea, coffee cakes, chocolates, pies, candies, cookies, cream cheese, soap... We walked around the outdoor area to check out all the vendors. It took us less than 30 mins but it was fun. 3. Checked out the indoor Christmas décor and gift shop before getting food. The staff were super nice. 4. Got the Raclette cheese sandwiches! Watching the melty raclette got scraped into the bread was delightful. With $1 extra, you could add a brat to the sandwich with a similar amount of cheese (we thought, as I got one with just raclette and hubby got one with a brat). * My suggestions are: 1) eat the sandwich as soon as possible when it is still warm and moist. Don't spend too much time looking for seats or taking photos lol. 2) Your hands may smell stinky later if you touch the cheese, which is highly likely to happen as there is so much cheese! 5. The Avenue has a lot of history behind it, once the only major indoor shopping facility in Milwaukee proper and the one time largest food court in Wisconsin, its great to see the thoughtful re-vamp of a historic part of Milwaukee. The newly re-branded Avenue is considered a shopping center, shared office space, and apartment building. While there are few retail stores, and plans for one or two more, it is not really a shopping center. Just on the other side of the building is a bustling food court wit many great options from local vendors. The many retail stores at one point have been converted to apartments, a creative way of keeping the historic look of the mall space. The space continues to have more potential and its great to see the history that still remains.

We also browsed the shoes and I happened to find the perfect pair for a wedding I had coming up, so of course I grabbed them. On top of the other finds I also found a small toy for my dog. I ended up with two sets of hair claws/clips, two pairs of jeans, a pair of heels and a dog toy for under $100. While we only interacted with the staff at the register they were also nice and my friends and I all ended up finding a few items here.
