There was some confusion when we checked in as they said there were only a "few steps" to manage to get to our room. It was on the second floor with a full flight of stairs to ascend to get to the room. This wasn't happening and we were checking in pretty late to begin with so I was a bit worried. They did end up getting us something on the ground floor, so that was nice of them. We did end up in the units way far away from the pool and shops. Side note: If you have ever had the unpleasantries of not being able to walk, I do not recommend, not 10/10, not even 1/10... it sucks. I am sorry if you are dealing with that at all. Anyway. Back on track. Rooms are fairly large that we have had and kind of feel like an apartment more than hotels. Beds are comfy, they are clean, and it's pretty quiet around. Some of the appliances had to have been bought before this place was even built as there are numerous versions of straight up analog shit all up in the rooms. It's like a travel back in time. They have some nice pools and decent poolside bars and food places. The wings we had there were quite good, but that's another review. There are lots of things to do nearby and a few restaurants in the area that are pretty good. One place we ate was outstanding. The best carrot cake I have ever had. I think it starts with a J. GPS worked great at got us right to the registration building. Registration went very smooth with Nyx checking us in. We were in Condo 5 in Hamilton Cove. The outdoor pool was within walking distance and was enjoyed by my daughter's family. My wife and I took advantage of Tuesday Bingo at the local community center. Everyone was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The condo kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to prepare meals for my family. Suggestion please sharpen the prep knives in the wood block. I was grateful I brought my own, a larger skillet and pot. All appliance worked perfectly. There were 4 adults and 3 kids. The condo accommodated is very well. My daughter had a Tesla and there was a local charging station within 4 miles of our condo. We took advantage of mini golf, bowling, hiking, grocery shopping at Harps, and Dollar General. All were located closely to our area. We drove down to the Fairfield Marina but did not take advantage of any of the activities. I left my golf clubs at home, but there was an 18 hole golf course nearby. My daughter and her kids visited the local cave.

She said that they didn't get a water delivery. What? So if bottled water was not delivered, drive to the damn Walmart and buy a flat or two. Right?? Thank goodness the guide did, indeed, provide us with bottled water. The guide definitely made up for the negative experience with the office staff.

The funny thing was, there were no boats out of the dock and no one fishing off the dock. We were turned away at the restaurant and told we needed to make reservations one to two weeks ahead. There were only four people in the restaurant. Employees hang out smoking all the time at its back door by cabins. The dock needs repairs. Some on the fishing dock are dangerous. Overall, I love being at Lindsey's because of the picturesque surroundings, but the management is very poor.

Plenty of windows (I love natural lighting and this place had plenty of it). We had a stacker washer/ dryer in the unit, which was very useful. The bedroom had its own access to the restroom with a jacuzzi tub that fit 2 people. The facility had the right amount of amenities in our opinion: kayak, Lake tour, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jacuzzi, gym (with real weights), WiFi per individual suite (I love not sharing WiFi, my husband and I are somewhat paranoid about identity theft and online hacking ordeals), nightly shows... We stayed in the Fly Fishing Lodge suite and it was awesome. 1,300 square feet of greatness in 1 room! We checked in and the lady at the front counter was so nice and friendly, it made the check in process easy. I asked about the back to school promo they were running since I called about it a couple days before my stay and she said it was on my bill (10% off and some coupons). Perfect! She let me know all the amenities the hotel offered and about the elevator ride. And even had a scavenger hunt for the kids! How awesome is that. You should offer that to everyone (minus the ducks for adults) because it was an awesome way to get to know the hotel and move around the hotel levels freely and with purpose. There is no pool here but it makes up for it with other things to do. From bowling, to the elevator ride, to the restaurants and the shopping there was plenty for the kids to do. Once we checked out and received our emailed receipt I realized the back to school promo wasn't applied to our bill. When I called the lady wasn't informed on the promo either so oh well, bummer.

The photos online are incredibly flattering and set expectations that simply weren't met. In person, the property felt dated and underwhelming. Our room overlooked a staircase instead of the store view we were led to expect, and there was nothing particularly luxurious about it. Even the "fireplace" was just a light effect, which felt misleading. The service was the biggest letdown. Most of the staff we encountered were unfriendly or dismissive. Housekeeping came by around 9:00 a.m. while I was getting dressed, and because I couldn't let them in at that moment, our room was never serviced for the rest of the day. No one returned. Calling the front desk was equally frustrating--we repeatedly waited on hold with no answer and ultimately had to go downstairs in person anytime we needed assistance. The layout and amenities were also disappointing. Guests could use the express elevator going up, but not coming down, which made little sense. The hallways were extremely dark and honestly felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Amenities were sparse, and room service after 11:00 a.m. was basically limited to burgers, offering very little variety. We were also attending events during our stay, and unfortunately the food served at every function was consistently poor. The location inside Bass Pro Shops is certainly unique, but the novelty wasn't enough to make up for the lack of service, misleading expectations, and overall value. For the premium price, I expected a true luxury experience. Instead, it felt more like paying luxury rates for a very average hotel. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

My son and I stayed at the Driftwood and could not have been happier. The fishing in the little…read morered was outstanding, the room was plenty spacious and very clean. Most of the land we saw while on the river has a steep drop to the water but we appreciated the gentle slope each time we made our way back to the room. The put in for a boat is 100 yards away probably. Don't for get to jump in the water before you leave ;-). It is probably 45 degrees... Perfect for big brown and rainbow trout. Our host, Chuck, tried to get me to connect with a hybrid but I never did. Of course he sent me a picture of 3 in his boat shortly after we left. Chuck could not be more helpful with info on the river nor a more gracious host. Get the fishing report from Chuck, check the release schedule and go go go. You won't regret it.
