Oh, yeh. This place knows what's up! Awesome vibe in the center of the store offering EXCELLENT coffee. I ordered a small latte and was VERY pleased at the size of the cup: petite as a small should be! Which means that the large is not unrealistically gigantic like most other coffee spots. People behind the counter were friendly and conversational, which is a plus in times like these where everyone is slow and stupid and mean. Got the chai cake because it is so similar to the autumn spice cakes I remember growing up with on the east coast. Which reminds, the Midwest SUCKS, so this whole little happy coffee experience was very pleasing to me. Ideal. All their homemade take-away items looked pretty incredible, too. Came to have some pastries and coffee and get some nice groceries for Christmas, ended up waiting 15 minutes for no service. We got to the coffee counter with no line and waited 10 minutes before finally catching an employee's attention. We were told he needed to grab a barista even though there were 5 people behind the counter taking people's pastry orders. The barista didn't come for another 5 minutes so we gave up and went elsewhere. read more

Amazing! Loved their wellness tea and their ham and cheese croissant. Super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheese wasn't overpowering and neither was the ham. Perfect balance. It's expensive, coffee and smoothies are decent, it always takes for-ev-er to get the coffee in the morning. It's also not a cafe. There's the Standard Market Grill, but this is basically a kiosk in the store. Not my favorite place for coffee but I sometimes stop on my way to work. read more

I have high standards when it comes to coffee and Standard Coffee&Tea hit the bullseye each time I run in before work to grab a latte. I hold good coffee to the standards of tasting authentic and not drowned in sugar, comparable to coffeehouses such as Dark Matter Coffee & Buzz: Killer Espresso in downtown Chicago. I may not be able to go downtown often now that I work full-time but the coffee at Standard Market hits the spot. I like this coffee much more than the big chain places (you know what I mean). There is never really a line here so to be able to pop in and grab my coffee and leave for work is a breeze! It's really neat that they put some latte art on their lattes even if it is to-go, I highly appreciate it. Ohh yeah. Standard Market takes their coffee very seriously and I love & respect them for that. This isn't no run of the mill 'bucks. No, this is real freaking coffee! To start, the coffee shop opens an hour before the actual store. Since this was my first visit, I was wondering if there was some super secret entrance or if I was just supposed to go in the main doors. I sat in my car for around 5-10 minutes so I could watch someone else's entrance. In case you're curious about this too, you go in through the main market doors. The produce and other sections that are right inside the front doors are roped off so you're forced to walk to the coffee shop. It took me a few minutes to peruse and walk around the bakery case before making my decision. In this time, a super rude guy got in line in front of me and it was apparent he needed his coffee because he was quite snippy with the barista. She handled it like a pro, though I couldn't help but be upset if i was in her shoes. I made sure to be extra friendly once I made it to the register to try and invoke some good vibes in the area. (Why do people have to be such jerks for no reason???) I decided on a latte and one of the breakfast burritos. I wish I would have written the name down, but it had chorizo in it. Since the only breakfast burrito I've really had was from the golden arches, my taste buds were in for a real treat. It was very flavorful but not greasy at all (as chorizo can sometimes be.) My latte came out so pretty and was really really good. I'd go so far to say, it was one of the best coffees I've had in awhile. I also found out that Standard is less than 10 minutes away from my work, so I'm thinking this will start being a more frequent destination. Don't pass up a chance to come here and DON'T be a jerk to the nice baristas either. read more

The coffee here was very good. The service was good as well. I had drip coffee and a pour-over, both were awesome. It was nice to get good quality coffee in the suburbs. I wish they had drink trays, I had to juggle 4 drinks when leaving and that was tough. I also would have liked a place to sit. There was a restaurant area, but it looked to me like that was only for people eating food. read more

Of all the restaurant concepts within the store this is probably the best. High quality, delicious coffee served among shelves of specialty coffees and teas to take home. I tried the cold brew and it was amazing! With a Starbucks on every city block, every suburban down town every where, perhaps this is the best type of home for small coffee shops now? Don't let the fact that this place is housed in a grocery store from letting you try this place. I find it weird that there really aren't that many Starbucks near me in Westmont. Due to the lack of S-bucks in the area, it forced me to try this place out. Not that I get coffee all that often, in fact, I get a coffee to go super rarely. However there are some days that this mommy needs a professionally made cup of joe. This is a wonderful little coffee stand within the market itself. They have a few ready to eat boxes to take for breakfast or lunch as well as bakery items and hot breakfast sandwiches. Word to the wise, the Pradel sandwich is delicious but not something you can easily eat while driving. This one required two hands, your full attention, and several napkins. I am a sucker for a good 'ol fashioned cafe au lait. I always get my cup fast, hot, and exactly what I ordered. Can't beat that. read more

I love stumptown coffee (portland bias, you betcha). friendly baristas in what amounts to a little stand inside a beautiful market. milk alternatives include almond, soy, and macadamia. my decaf almond milk latte is smooth and well-crafted. seating is in adjacent standard grill-- comfortable, well-lit, spacious, fireplace. great writing hang. plus I can score some healthy eats for the road when I'm done. happy happy. read more

This place has the best coffee in the area. At first I wrote them off because they were in a grocery store, but I finally decided to give them a try. I asked the barista what local coffees they sold and he proceeded to tell me where each of the brands they stock was roasted. He was obviously passionate about coffee. Not only that, the taste of the coffee (from Counter Culture) was amazing. Reminded me of some of the great coffee shops in the city. I will definitely be going back. read more

Just stopped as I was getting car serviced in area. Staff was a bit cold although some regulars were more warmly welcomed. Coffee is ok although small cups and expensive. Breakfast sandwich was average. Sat in cafe area for a while. Ambiance is not great and bathrooms were locked. Ok but a Dunkin Donut is down the block. read more
