When I'm there, I like to relax, unwind, and just enjoy playing my game. Some staff members make that a little difficult always looking over your shoulder or making pushy comments about tips. But with that being said I've been to several Dotty's locations over the years, and I've recently had the pleasure of running into a younger girl named Courtney a few times now. I've never felt compelled to write a review but I finally had a chance to sit down and write this because she truly deserves the recognition. Courtney is one of the nicest and most helpful young ladies I've met at a Dotty's. She has amazing customer service for such a young girl. She is very knowledgeable, always friendly, and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good experience. She does all of this without being pushy or overbearing, which I really appreciate. She keeps everything running smoothly, always makes sure my soda is filled, the snacks are stocked (especially my cookies), and the place feels welcoming. You can tell she takes pride in her job and really enjoys helping people. Her kindness and positive attitude are what stand out the most. I always look forward to seeing Courtney when I come in because she makes my visits that much better. Dotty's is very lucky to have her, and I hope to see her again soon!

I go to cash my voucher ($130) and leave and the system says my voucher is invalid. Ask the attendant and she says it will take over an hour and wants my name and phone number??? I told her I'd come back later and cash it and she says, "kinda makes you mad don't it". Huh?? Seems like they have no trouble taking money but when their machines lock up the customer is the loser. I've been there three time total and each time one of the customers has a machine malfunctioning, this time was my turn. Avoid like the plague.

Some color would be nice, but this place is clean and there's a lot of seating. I ordered a hot coco ube coffee and customized it to 50% sweet using the kiosk. There was only one person working here when I put the order in, but someone else came in later to help. My drink took a little time, but the space made the wait tolerable. Glad to see a nice variety of different boba drinks here and having the option to dial down the sugar. It's nice to see some real coffee and tea offered with the fruit drinks, smoothies, and such. You can also get bubble waffles here which are always a good choice. Novatea should be your regular boba spot, if you're in the area.

My wife's Ube drink had a richer flavor than others because they used pieces of the actual fruit. I enjoyed my waffle ice cream as it wasn't the typical waffle cone; once most of the ice cream was gone I ate the rest like a sandwich. The inside was also spacious and comfortable. Its location in downtown Lemont was also a plus as we took advantage of exploring it and the trails along the I & M Canal to burn off the calories we just took in.

Service is prompt and friendly…read more We ordered the sample platter which was plenty of food to split between three people and still have leftovers. YMMV depending on your party's appetite. Brisket - not the best I've had, but definitely good Pork Belly Burnt Ends - delicious! The sticky sweet sauce they come in is amazing. Pulled Pork - good Sausage link - meh Mac & Cheese - better than many places, but I'd probably try a different side next time Tater Tots - sooo good! Texas Twinkie - perfect flavor and jalapeno poppers and not usually my thing Pickles and pickled onions - so good! Pecan pie - took this home to eat later and it was one of the best pies I've ever had The BBQ sauce at a place can make it or break it. I didn't care for the vinegar based one, but their honey bbq sauce is delicious. I appreciated that they gave me a cup of it automatically when I asked for a to go container.

Being from Alabama, fresh-brewed sweet tea is a must for me with BBQ. Matt's does not have sweet tea but I called and asked if I could bring my own. I was told sure so that made it extra special for me. As I entered Matt's, I ordered at the counter and I had help from the nice lady. She told me all meat plates come in 1/2 pound but I could order sliders that came in 1/4. That's why I went with the brisket slider and pulled pork slider. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends but those didn't come in a sandwich. Both sliders were fantastic! The meat was juicy and what I exactly want from BBQ. The pulled pork slider went extremely well with the Carolina Vinegar sauce like it should. The honey BBQ and hot honey BBQ were better matches with the brisket. I loved all 3 sauces but was most impressed with the Carolina Vinegar. The meat and sauces were impressive but the sides over all were underwhelming for me. Something to note was that this might be the only BBQ joint I have ever been to with so many sides and baked beans was not one of them. The slaw was all right but adding the Carolina vinegar took it to another level. The potato salad was homemade and actually cost an extra $1 for some reason. But I didn't like it because I don't like celery. That one is on me because other than the celery, it was all right. But the side I was most disappointed with was the mac and cheese. The lady behind the counter told me they do not make it in house but buy it frozen and smoke it. They need to find another formula for it because this was not worth $5 for a side of Mac and cheese. The noodles were too doughy and could tell it was indeed frozen at one point and the cheese was more like nacho cheese than real cheese. I couldn't even finish it with how disappointed and disgusted I was with it. Despite the sides, Matt's gets the most important part of BBQ right and that's the meat. The meat and sauces were top notch and I truly appreciate them letting bring in my own sweet tea.
