Unfortunately my experience here was not the best. I'm surprised since the place was packed the entire time and I don't understand why. Service was awfully slow. Probably the slowest I've had at a coffee shop. It took over an hour for my latte to be ready. The pastries then took an additional 20 minutes after that. They also got my friend's pastry order wrong so she had to wait even longer. Additionally it was extremely hot inside the cafe. Most people were complaining about how toasty it was. I did feel the AC kick in maybe 5 mins prior to leaving. I tried a seasonal drink - Ube latte. I didn't taste the Ube at all, + I didn't taste any type of the espresso. It just tasted like milk. For the pastries I tried the guava pastry and a cheese empanada. Both were bland and underwhelming. CFS is pricey - the quality, service, and atmosphere did not live up to how expensive it is. read more

Came to CFS Coffee For The Soul and honestly the place just feels good when you walk in. Colombian coffee vibes, cool stuff on the walls, kinda makes you look around for a minute. Staff was really friendly too, didn't feel rushed or anything. I ordered the hot chocolate and... wow. First thing, the size. I've never seen a cup that big at a coffee shop. Pretty sure it healed my soul right away. Taste wise, super smooth. Nice and hot. Had light cinnamon notes that show up after a sip. Not overly sweet either, which I liked. Creamy texture, almost like melted chocolate but lighter. They even did latte art on top and served it in this artisan cup. Looked way too nice for something I was about to destroy in five minutes. Came for chocolate, left spiritually repaired. Honestly might come back next time my soul needs maintenance. read more

CFS is a hidden gem coffee cafe located in Oak Brook. My first time here and it was really nice. I like the Colombian Vibe and decor. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The vibes are chilled and relaxing. The seating area has small tables or couch area to sit back and relax while sipping on your drink. They even offer acai bowls, breakfast options, sandwiches and salads. They have only 2 sizes Medium & Large. It's ridiculous that the medium is the size of a small. Straight rip off. I paid close to $8.00 for this little cup. Shame on them. Plus, I was charged extra for the flavor syrup that was added to my latte. The space is really calm and peaceful. Service was nice. The latte was ok. I couldn't really taste the flavor that was added. I will give it another chance and come back. read more

Stopped by for a takeout order of their arepa de choclo, beef empanada, and pistachio iced coffee. I loved the sauce that the beef empanada came with. It was a garlicky mayo sauce- very good! The choclo was so good! I loved the hint of sweetness from the corn, but it was well balanced by the cheese. My favorite drink is the pistachio latte! I do wish I was able to stay for the cute mugs. Great coffee spot to work from but wasn't thrilled with the food. I ordered the bacon, avocado egg white ciabatta and there was really nothing to it and very bland. The avocado was hard I ended up taking it off of the breakfast sandwich. Willing to give their other food items a try though with all things considered. On the other hand, the coffee was good. They have a variety of matcha option flavors, which I liked being a matcha fan. Tried the pistachio latte and have to admit I was a little disappointed the presentation wasn't as nice as the photos on their page though. I was in the area and was looking to try something new. I saw this on Yelp so decided to try it. At first I couldn't find the place because it's on the opposite side of the parking lot where I entered. The place is very nice and clean. You don't order from a human you have to order from an electronic panel, sorry not sure what you call it. I dislike having to order from there because you can't ask it questions. I ordered the Pumpkin Latte and then it shows you options for milk, etc. One of the options was pumpkin for .75 so I was confused on whether I should add it because I was already ordering pumpkin. ‍ The latte was just ok. Cute atmosphere and lots of seating. I really like the booth seats - comfy cushions and pillows. They offer some food items such as sandwiches, arepas and pastries. The arepas looked good but the pastries didn't seem that appetizing. I just came for the coffee. I love ordering lattes with the hopes of a creamy and smooth blend of milk/espresso and some latte art but sadly, just foam with cinnamon sprinkled on top. I ordered it with soy milk and it's just a clumpy hot mess on top of steamed milk and espresso. The taste was at least decent and the mugs they use are adorable. The server was friendly. I spent $8 ($1 tip) for my small latte. I'm glad I tried it but I don't plan to come back. read more

I found CFTS cuz I took a wrong turn on the little strip mall they are in I was so very, very, surprised and happy to find this gem! Great cafe con leche, great empanadas colombianas, great desserts and the prices r reasonable I LOOVE the staff they r all every single one that I've come in contact with super nice and courteous and friendly! My only complaint is that I see how hard they work and many times there is only one lady dealing with customers, taking orders and preparing orders I've witnessed a few customers upset at how slow the service can b; and that is managements fault for either not keeping its great employees and/or I'd imagine not hiring more people Is a great fantastic cafe and the ladies that take care of us, the customers are wonderful! Please hire more people or why is there such a large turnover of employees? I began going there in December of 2025 and every time I get to know a server/cashier she's gone! Started the week off with a Hot Lavender Latte from CFS Coffee! The inside was quite spacious and menu looked to offer a wide variety of food and drinks. I asked the staff member if he would recommend a Lavender or Rose latte and Lavender won! My drink only took a couple of minutes to make. I really enjoyed the flavor and temperature of my drink. Pricing was a tad high but my latte did have a pretty milk design! Paid $8.83 including tip for a "medium" latte that came in a tiny-ass cup. Yeah, the coffee was good -- it actually tickled my soul -- but come on... get with the f*ing program. Then there's the app -- you think, "Alright, might as well earn some rewards." But no -- you download it, burn a few megabytes, and realize this is the only location in Oak Brook, while the rest are all in Florida. Feels like some rich dipshit needed his own specialty coffee spot around the corner and we're all paying for his caffeine hobby. Good brew, bad business. Never coming back. read more

Beautiful place, and I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When I visited today, all of the arepas de choclo on display appeared to have freezer burn. I ordered the one that looked the best and asked for it to be heated and packed to go. However, when I left and started eating it, the inside was still frozen, and the arepa was falling apart. It ended up being a waste of money. The coffee was good, but the food quality and preparation need improvement. read more

My fiancée and I enjoy visiting coffee shops on the weekend. This was one we've never visited before. First impressions, I always focus on parking, and it's definitely not an issue. Check! It's bigger on the inside with plenty of seating. It's very open with a coffee house-type feel. They have a wide variety of coffee and tea with an assortment of bread and muffins. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly. After our order, we took a number and found a seat. I ordered the mocha cappuccino, which he created a nice design on top (as seen in the photo). The muffin was chocolate chip, and it was delicious. The gentleman working the front counter was alone, so he was pretty busy. I think we waited ~10 minutes. Went here with some friends and was very excited to try a cafe with a more South American flair to it. Interior is very cute with plenty of seating (both actual chairs and booths with piles of pillows). Employees at the register and the ones who brought us our food and drinks were very friendly and polite. The cups were gorgeous! And they actually had a little corner where they sold some wares (including cups in a similar style). - Yucca Waffle: the texture reminded us of mochi! otherwise kind of plain, even with the fruits and syrup. If I go here again, I would love to try one of their other food items. - Venezuelan Arepa: meat was flavorful, cheese was gooey, dough was soft ~ - Lavender Rainbow Latte: my friend actually ordered this one, so I had a sip. Normally I love lavender lattes, but somehow this one didn't hit the same. (I think probably because the ones I've had are on the sweeter end, so if you want flavored coffee without all the added sugar - this latte is perfect for you). - Farmer's Latte: speaking of sweet, this one was much more to my taste. The flavor was especially unique with a blend of brown sugar cane, cinnamon, and clove. Absolutely delicious. Finished it so quick, I debated getting another one to go. A really charming Colombian themed cafe with friendly staff that makes a nice cortado. It is pretty cold, though, which detracts substantially from it's coziness and charm; and the cheese empanada I tried was unspeakably bad -- cheese somehow congealed into a small and dense puck of rubbery glue at the bottom, and the crust leathery and all around inedible. So while I hate to speak half heartedly about it, it's just not the place I had been dreaming of whiling away a random Oakbrook afternoon. read more

Cute little spot! One downfall of the location is the parking. As it shares parking with the LA fitness, protein bar, and Jason's deli. The parking lot is cramped. My fiance and I enjoy trying local coffee shops. Check in on Yelp for a free black coffee! I also tried a piece of their banana bread, which was tasty. It did take a little bit to get our items. One person was working the front, and another person was working the back. The place is very clean and has comfy seating. The coffees are served in gorgeous cups (which are also for sale). Let me start off by saying that they're pistachio latte and caramel lattes are amazing! However, do not go here if you are not willing to wait 30 to 40 minutes for your coffee and your sandwich only to get the order wrong. I am extremely frustrated as I type this because I came in on a slow moment And we did not get our order for over 35 minutes. On top of that, when we got the order, it was wrong. I am very disappointed with my purchase. First off, the setting is nice. No complaints about that. I had a bad experience with the server and the latte. I ordered a latte with almond milk. I got my order and took a sip only to find the latte to be very thin and no froth. The coffee tasted burnt as well. I went up to the counter to express my concern only to be told I have to pay for another one. I told him the milk was way too thin and burnt and he did nothing. I'm very disappointed with the service and the latte. Then, I also ordered the acai bowl. The toppings were good and displayed nice but the acai was like a smoothie. There was no thickness to it and consistency was off. I peeked over to see they use Walmart brand milk. I'm sorry to find that out. I believe if they change their milk, the consistency of the drinks and acai will be better. What a great coffee shop! CFS (Coffee for the Soul) is a cute, welcoming cafe with a Colombian vibe. They have standard coffee shop items like muffins and coffee cake (which was excellent), and also Colombian arepas and pastries. In addition to my coffee cake, I had the farmer's coffee, which is drip coffee with sugar, cinnamon and cloves. It was delicious. The staff was friendly and service was fast. This is a good place to bring your laptop and work (and write Yelp reviews :) ) - plenty of room for that. read more
