I went here recently with friends for a tattoo with friends! There was an apprentice named Darcey. She hooked us up!!! She made sure we loved the size of each tattoo! She kept asking,"love it? Love it forever?" So we made sure we loved the size and. Placement perfectly!!! She made sure we were all good and not in pain, although we all had tattoos. So I've given this place a few chances. Let me start with some background. A few months ago i went in to get a tattoo, got the stencil made and appointment. Tattoo artist left before my appointment and i was offered a discount to reschedule. The price they gave me was about 120, when every other place said they'd do it for the tattoo minimum of 80. I've had a few friends get piercings there that have had horrible infections and had to be removed by other piercers. Today, I needed to get a piercing changed and standard was one of the only places open. They are incredibly difficult to get ahold of considering they don't care to even answer calls. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Goodness if there were 0 stars to give this place, I certainly would. I walked in wanting to get tongue pierced (which i have had done before with absolutely no issue) They guy/owner was a total asshole before we started but the horror really started when I sat in that piercing chair. In short, he kept yelling at me and getting onto me because I kept "moving my tongue". The second that needle went through, I had a crooked piercing with no jewelry and he left it at that!! I left with my tongue bleeding and as I was leaving he decided he wanted to get into a cussing battle. He claims to have been piercing for 12 years but don't you think he'd be able to a simple tongue piercing? I find it suspicious. Thank god I went over to see the crew at Evermore where they helped me tremendously. They even successfully pierced my tongue on the first try, and they didn't even throw a hissy fit! Needless to say, the owner of standard ink doesn't even deserve to have a piercing license. If you are thinking of getting a piercing there, please please reconsider going somewhere else. read more

I went here last weekend, visiting from out of town. The ball came off of my curved barbell and I wanted to upgrade my jewelry anyway. After experiencing some lousy customer service I bought a captive bead ring and they put it in for me. Two days later my ear was so sore and tender to touch, mind you this piercing was over 5 years old and I never had any problems with it. I went to another shop back home to have them check it out to find out that not only did they allow me to buy a ring that was way too big for my ear but also too small of a gauge. To top it all off. The piece of jewlery they sold me was plated and started to chip off in my ear. All three factors resulting in my ear getting irritated. I do not recommended getting jewelry or pierced here. Aside from lousy customer service, they dont know what they are doing and dont care about their customer's wellbeing and safety. They only care about making a buck. I watched them "steralize" the jewlery before they put it in my ear and all they did was spray it down with salt water, i can only imagine the care they take when piercing someone. Go somewhere else that not only will take better care of you and actually cares about what you're putting in your body, but actually knows what they're doing. read more

I made an appointment during a consultation with Jess. I took her pictures and explained my idea. She made me an appointment a month out, and charged me $25 to hold my appointment. She told me she would send me her drawing of what I wanted the weekend before my appointment. The weekend came and went and I didn't hear from her. She had given me her cell number, but I had left it at home and was out of town. I came back on a Tuesday, and texted her with no response. I called the shop and was told her phone had been messed up, but was now working, but I gave my name and told them when my appointment was. I tried her cell again with no response. I sent them a message on facebook, and still no response. Finally, on Thursday, just one hour before my appointment, the receptionist called me to say they accidentally overbooked and needed to reschedule me! I actually watched Jess block out my time on their system, so whatever happened was no accident. The receptionist kept offering to book me with someone else, but I declined. I did a lot of research before I decided on Jess, and was not willing to have just anyone do my tattoo. Not only was this extremely unprofessional, but unethical as well to take a deposit and not follow through with my appointment. read more

I got my tragus pierced a week ago here, and at first all was well. The piercer seemed to know what she was doing and she made sure to sterilize all of her equipment in front of me, which I appreciated. Skip to a few days ago, after I moved to college, and my ear is swollen and red, scabbing a little on the front. I thought that was normal, even though it didn't hurt at all at first. Today, I woke up with my ear bloody and the front part of the piercing gone. I figured it had just come apart, and looked all over for it. I was trying to remove the back, but it wouldn't budge. I asked the locals around my new location the best place for piercings, and I went to see them for advice and help. Long story short, the jewel of the earring was INSIDE OF MY TRAGUS. The jewelry that the piercer used was no longer than the width of my tragus, and so the swelling caused immense pressure and pain. Further, the jewel was no wider than the post of the jewelry. Simply put, the piercer made careless errors and mistakes that were to my detriment. I am very careful with my piercings, and take very good care of my skin/body. To find out that the woman that did my piercing lacked so much knowledge about what type of jewelry to use on a tragus is terrifying. Lastly, the piercer I went to today for advice/help said that the piercing was even done at a weird angle, and wasn't straight through the tragus like it should have been. Overall, this was a very poor experience with the work of the Standard Ink piercer. I hope that this review can stop someone from making the same mistake I did by choosing this company and paying for its service. read more

I was looking to get another tattoo and I had heard that this place had been around for a while. It was not the great experience I was hoping for. The lobby was really dirty, it made me question their sanitation practices if someone couldn't even clean the floors or wipe off the furniture. I asked the lady behind the counter about the cost of a small tattoo once she finally acknowledged me. She did not give me a strait response just asked "how much money" I had. I explained I was looking to spend no more than $150 to which she replied "well if you want me to do it that would cost $220". The price wasn't really the issue I just felt like she was only after as much money as she could get. By this time I had already decided this was not the place for me between the dirty lobby, the rude service, and the artist who only wanted to empty my pockets I quickly left. I visited several other shops in town which were very inviting and clean, also found that my tattoo would only cost between $100- $125 at all 3 shops I went to. If you are looking for new ink dont get caught in this shops scam!! read more
