While I was planning on selecting a surgeon here in Austin, I did not limit my search to just this city. I looked in all areas of Texas and even beyond. However, once I identified Dr Kemper, I was confident that I had found the best surgeon for my needs regardless of location. To be brief, Dr. Kemper is a fantastic surgeon. While some might consider his consultations to be brief, the correct term is "concise". His information is spot on, and he not only communicates what is involved he instills a confidence that he will execute the surgery with the highest degree of skill and optimal results. Once I decided to schedule the procedure, he said to me plainly "I will do my very best to get you through this" and I not only believed him, but I placed my full trust in him. My surgery was 3 months ago. Not only did Dr Kemper live up to my expectations but I am happy to say that I am better today that I have been in many, many years. My condition is 100% corrected and there are no residual effects from the procedure; even my 8" scar is invisible and no nerve issues with my skin. I can not thank him enough or recommend him any higher - he's the best. I would also like to thank his staff for their excellent care. I know that managing a clientele comprised of folks needing complex surgeries is not an easy thing, but they go out of their way to accommodate as best as they can. Ironically, my condition required the partnership with an Austin ENT Surgeon who is also "Dr. Kemper". While they are not related, they both worked flawlessly as a team, and I am forever grateful. Cheers!

I have not been heard about how much I am I pain I went here because of the "spine specialist" info and some reviews. I have already paid for CT scans, chiropractic appointments, X-rays, PT therapy and among so many medications prescribed I was at my wits end. I had my eval appt and waited over an hour to be seen. They told me my CT scan wasn't exactly enough info they needed to help me and told me to get an MRI for further recommendations for surgery or PT care. My insurance wasn't going to cover a second imaging so I paid $400 for the MRI and had to pay $150 for Dr to tell me to get an MRI to get the best possible path forward. I agreed- They called me for a follow up on my results and made my appt. When I arrived, I was checked in and after siting for 2 mins they called my name. I was very slow getting out of my chair when they called my name again. I apologized for being slow to get to the desk and they just said I had to pay $150 for the follow up appointment because I didn't have my deductible met. I said I don't have that money; I was just here a couple days ago and need to discuss follow up. They told me if I can't pay in full I have to reschedule. I was so upset. I was missing work, in pain and I asked to bill my insurance or something and they said no to reschedule when I could pay. This was a scheduled follow up to discuss a test they made me do to be able to get any additional care from their providers. They didn't offer any assistance how to pay towards my visit, just that I can't pay so I had to leave. I called my insurance when I left and they told me a claim for my follow up visit would have been covered, this was strictly the clinic refusal to not file the claim. I won't reschedule. I'm disappointed. Don't recommend

It is expected to have between 10,000 to 20,000 steps in a work day. While the chiropractor I was seeing was somewhat helpful, I wanted to find a solution that allowed me to take control of the situation rather than having to rely on coming in for treatments weekly. All those visits add up in cost. After seeing Jeff for one visit I improved noticeably during that visit with pain dropping by 60%. What was different compared to other treatments that I had before was that I was being shown exactly what I needed to do to get myself back to 100%. How fast I got well was totally in my hands. Jeff was clear in his instruction and you can tell that he cares so much. I'm doing well several months after. Jeff continues to check in with me to make sure I'm progressing along. Thank you man! I appreciate the knowledge and your guidance on taking action for myself. Don't worry, I'm minding my body bank account!

Answers all questions in a helpful way, even when he has to say that he can't help with things outside his realm of study, or that he doesn't know about EMGs. I've been on disability from an accident long ago & have fought off all suggestions of spinal surgery for decades. Per my G.P. and my general surgeon, I was certain I now required it, and that it should've been done a year ago, so when the specialist who would do the surgery says I don't need it and can explain why I don't need it, this is an all round superb doc. My general surgeon gave me his name because of personal, direct experience with the quality of Dr. Kim's surgical skills; he said nothing about the guy's integrity, complete lack of the usual AMA-required side of condescension, great gift for clear& simple explanations, nor that Dr. Kim seems like a genuinely kind and compassionate human. I just can't say enough good about the guy. Yes, he has that large deposit against no shows in new patients, but it's released if you show up on time. I'm very glad that I didn't let that turn me off this fabulous healer. If you need a neurosurgeon in Central Texas, this is the one.

This company told me I was covered on my insurance. But it turns out that their assessment wasn't…read morelike most offices whom in every other experience I have had where they call to confirm. They used some older document where they saw some patient was covered at some point. To make a long story short, I contacted my insurance amidst this dispute and they informed me they had not been in group with these offices for several years. And of course I signed the waver stating I'd pay even if there were issues. (never sign those unless you intend to pay out of pocket) Part 2: The neurosurgeon billed my visits at a much higher level than what they actually were. Both visits were simple discussions about going and getting an MRI and then the follow up to look over it. This was all to find out if he could operate on me or not. MRI quickly showed he could not help me there. These visits were never more than 20 maybe 25 minutes (unless he is counting time I sit in there waiting on him.So a level 2 visit (where he did nothing to help my condition) was dictated as a level 5 visit. So now I am forced to pay out of pocket on charges that were fraudulent because it is only my word against theirs and there is really no discourse for me to take. I realy felt like my back is up against the wall. I spent time just thinking it would be best not pay. But with some time and research discovered I'd be hurting my credit score which os not acceptable. Neither were the charges but I could only control one of those which was paying them to avoid bad credit. They earlier in their collections calls ended up so kindly giving me a courtesy discount of 60 dollars per visit for out of network inconvenience. But that still did not sit well. But I decided to call and pay it. Just suck it up and bite the bullet. Come to find out they added a collections fee of 63 dollars per visit!! The weird thing was they hadn't even sent it to collections yet but told me those fees are assessed by the collections companies.(so why are they there yet). I f I settle through the offices still then there would be no fees yet right!? they used to to leverage force to say "you either pay the 390 in full (i needed payments) or you can make payments on the 516'is. well, what do I do. Guess this is going on my credit dept and Ill pay them back. They were bad at their jobs leading me the little guy with a bad spine and muscular distrophy to more financial stress. They are liars(fraud charges to my insurance). and they are mean. They could have reduced the collections fees and let me make a few payments to them over time but they decided because they made 4 phone calls and sent 1 piece of mail that they would not let me do that. Just bad bad business. At the very least, make sure they are charging your insurance properly if you keep going to them. That is not right.
