I sent the following Customer Feedback message on the company's "Contact Us" web page, on 08/19/2024, and have yet to receive a response: ------------------- Hello I had three areas cleaned in my home (LR carpet, hallway, BR tile) on Tuesday 8/6. The team was pleasant, quick, and everything looked great when they were done. The next morning, I noticed a strong unpleasant odor coming from the LR carpet. I contacted customer service on Thursday, 8/8, and was immediately scheduled for a follow-up cleaning on 8/9. This was perfect since the plan had been to have the carpet cleaned while my family was up north for the week so we didn't have to deal with toddlers on damp carpet. The second team arrived on time Friday morning and were pleasant, quickly recleaned the LR carpet, and were gone before I knew it. I made sure air was circulating before heading up north to pick up my family. Upon returning home on Sunday afternoon (8/11), both my wife and I noticed the unpleasant odor was clearly still present. She suggested that the carpet may not be fully dry yet, so we waited to see if the smell would dissipate. It did not. I became extremely frustrated on Saturday 8/17 while sitting on the carpet with my kids, smelling a stink that did not exist prior to our initial steam cleaning on 8/6. I decided to use our own residential carpet cleaner to see if I could eliminate the smell with a few more passes. Here is the most frustrating and disgusting part of this experience: My residential carpet cleaner picked up a truly massive amount of dirt and grime from my TWICE professionally steam cleaned living room carpet. I did not take a picture of the first waste water tank that was filled with black/gray water, but I did take a picture of the next TEN full tanks with similar results. As you can imagine, I am pretty upset with this whole experience and would like to speak with someone about what can be done. As the owner of two small female dogs, my carpet is in constant need of attention. I typically get my carpets cleaned 2-3 times a year and Stanley Steemer is always my first choice. I believe that both the customer service and actual cleaning quality are superior at Stanley. Stanley Steemer is not only reliable, they're also the cost effective choice. I receive monthly promotional emails and can almost always find a way to attach a discount to the service my house requires. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences when dealing with Stanley Steemer staff members. Most recently, I requested that they take extra care when moving my glass coffee table and trophies on the stairwell ledge. They were careful and thorough when touching my fragile items, and took the utmost care to cover their shoes as to prevent additional dirt and snow from accumulating on my floors. Stanley Steemer did an excellent job removing stains from and treating my carpets and I noted the attention to detail that was given to my carpeted staircase. OK, I've given these folks 3 tries, and now they're out. First, they didn't bother to mop under furniture or clean the tile in my bath, while charging astronomical fees, and then they came out to finish it right and gave me a gift card. OK, they made it right. Next, I called them to clean a couch and forgot to give the gift card, but called them within an hour of the cleaning to say so. Watch out for the passive-aggressive receptionist: she's The Wall. She claimed it couldn't be applied after the fact, but she lied. I asked for a manager, who said "of course we can do that". read more

I used them for duct cleaning. I took a half day off work and was to return after they finished....How I understood that it was supposed to be done is that they vacuum out the dust and debris from the ducts. While sitting in the living, keeping the dogs occupied, I hear the men use what sounded like an air compressor and watched dust come out of our vents where we were sitting as well as the dining room. after paying and they left I walked into the bathroom and found this mess everywhere, window, curtains, vanity, rugs and walls. see images. I was disgusted and instantly started cleaning. I missed work the rest of the day because of this. I didn't think that was right, so I called the next day, they asked if a manager could come take a look. I said why, because I had already cleaned it up. I emailed her the photos that she requested. I got no response for 9 days!!!! I them emailed again and when I didn't get a response 4 hours later, I make a review on google and got a call within minutes. They could not refund me my money because the manager didn't come to my house to look at it. I don't recommend them for duct cleaning!!!!! read more

The Stanley Steamer website offers duct and carpet cleaning, so a family member signed us up for both the week of 12/12/22. The carpet was done very well, the crew/Nick explained the process in detail, and even allowed for furniture add-ons. We would recommend the carpet cleaners. BEWARE of the web sign-up process for duct cleaning or you could be out a lot of money and would not recommend doing business with Stanley Steamer duct service. A different crew was sent for our duct job from Mason, Michigan. I advised we had ducts cleaned in 2018 and wondered if they needed to be cleaned again because we had a bathroom renovation in an area with no vents. The crew went throughout the home, ran equipment, and advised duct pictures would be emailed to me (to date, we have received none), so we would know what was found. They charged just shy of $1,000 for the process, and after we paid, the crew let me know our ducts were not dirty, so they had nothing to clean! In addition, several vent covers remained dusty, a few vents were dirty inside, and debris was left on the floor outside of a few vents, so they were called back out to rectify the situation. I spoke with Manager Cameron who confirmed there was little dirt to pick up, stated he didn't like the Stanley Steamer web sign-up for duct cleaning because it doesn't allow for an estimator to come out to see if the work is necessary, as is their normal process when a customer calls for service. I advised him we would like to speak with the Stanley Steamer owner because they had taken and kept nearly $1,000. Cameron advised the owner is older, but would see if it is possible. I followed up 12/17/22 and 12/19/22, since we had not received a call. Cameron texted, said he had "discussed everything" with his bosses, and they were providing a $100 gift card for future cleaning. He again added "the owner is older and is not super involved anymore" and asked if there is anything he could help with. I asked for a company decision-maker, to which my text was then ignored. I followed up with a phone call and Cameron advised he would have to contact his regional manager for a decision regarding money and one of them would call me back. To date, no contact back and my voicemails and text have gone unreturned. Stanley Steamer came highly recommended to me by a family member who had used their services multiple years ago. Though the owner is now "older," per Cameron, does s/he have the capacity to know how business is being handled, which could cause them to eventually go out of business? This review is meant to help other potential duct cleaning clients understand the gaps in service, prior to calling Stanley Steamer. I do not recommend Stanley Steamer, and if they continue operating like above, their business time is limited. read more

Don't trust these guys don't leave him alone in your house and make sure you watch them work otherwise you'll just end up with wet dirty carpets. I filled out there for four how many rooms and what to clean and they said $324 which is still about $50 more than normal charge for these guys they come to my house do the job and hit me with a $514 bill! I paid the money come into the house there's bits of trash on the carpet there's dirt piled in the corner. I don't see any stains nothing was removed the carpets look exactly the way they did when they got there they're just wet. Save your money buy new carpeting. Don't let them charge you $100 for deodorizing all they do is spray some stuff on your carpet you could get at Walmart for 8 bucks read more

We were scheduled for duct cleaning, and when the service crew arrived, they looked around and checked things out and said we didn't need duct cleaning. They said they could go through the motions if I wanted them to, but I chose not to and there was no charge. I was impressed that someone actually said you didn't need their service in today's world. read more

Although they offered to come back and redo the work i wouldn't let them back in my house. It took 3 days to dry out the rooms they flooded and i don' want any further damage to my home. read more

Thought we would try Stanley Steemer out of Byron Center. We couldn't be more pleased. John and Cody were efficient, professional, engaging and thorough! The equipment was powerful, way more than the previous company I have used for 16 yrs. Yes, they were more pricey than the other, but I bet the effort and equipment did a better job. P.S. I have witnessed carpet cleaning every year and the difference is very obvious. read more

He called ahead and came an hour early. which was fine. Our dog gets sick from time to time, so we had several spots down in our family room. I showed the cleaner right where they were with a black light. While he was cleaning the upstairs I checked his work. The spots were still there. I told him and he cleaned it again. No change. We have had Stanley Steamer many times to clean up after our dog. They have always done a great job. So I'm Confused to why so poor of outcome this time. read more

My husband & I recently used Stanley Steemer to clean the carpet when we moved out of our duplex. We'd lived in the duplex for almost 20 years, & the carpet was there before us. We had this company come and steam and clean our carpet in the house we just bought before we brought all the furniture in. The job was so poorly done that our carpet smelled worst than before they cleaned it. We also had an area rug cleaned by them, and that had to be done twice as well, even after the second time the area rug smelled bad. They did a good job on the carpet, but it is the service I wasn't happy about. I asked to be first on the list for the day, what ever day. As long as I was first. This was a housewarming gift for a friend who had just bought a house. The day arrived, supposed to be there between 8 and 9. They finally call at 9 and tell me they went to another city first. About 10:30, I get a call that the tech was there but no answer at the house. That's because nobody lives there, and I asked them to CALL while on their way so I could be there. They didn't call. He finished, I left. I came back by about a half hour later and he was at a neighbor's house. So, it appears that I got bumped so they could do 2 jobs in the same town. It messed up my whole day, they appeared to be disorganized and I will never call again. read more

We have used Stanley for carpet cleaning several times over the years. We have since replaced the carpets with hardwood, so no longer need this service. They had always done a GREAT job with our carpets. Recently I saw their ad on TV for duct cleaning, so scheduled an appointment for Friday, 3/11. They did an AWESOME job. I had no idea how dusty our heat ducts were. They arrived right on the scheduled time, were extremely thorough, and very professional. I can't believe how clean the air is in our home after they provided this service. I definitely recommend them, and we will be calling them again. We can tell that our furnace is even operating more efficiently. read more
