Carlos, the technician, was detail oriented, professional and focused on ensuring I was aware of each step in the cleaning process. There were several steps he completed that were not completed first round. He shared the steps were all expectations of a typical carpet cleaning. Plastic protection for the door frames, stain pre-treatment, dry cleaning, steam clean and raking were all part of the process. The carpets looked as good as older carpets could after the cleaning! We scheduled work, reiterating to scheduler and dispatcher, rug had to be done offsite. this was just like the last time. They arrived with just one guy so I helped him put rug in truck. owner calls and states they don't have room for rug and don't do rugs in the shop anymore. He should have informed his people of this. We wasted time and money so I asked him how he would make it right. He laughed and said he wasn't going to do anything. So I helped the technician bring the rug back in the house and gave him a tip. why the tip? it wasn't his fault it was the very poor management of the owner. Once he determined the damage and need for mitigation, Ed and Robert came back out to do the clean up, demolition, and mold testing. Every step was thoroughly explained and all questions we had answered. Having never experienced anything like this before, they made it as painless as possible. Stanley Steemer came to clean our carpet yesterday, Fernando and Isaiah spent at least 2.5 hours on an dirty ,stained, 14 year old carpet. They did an amazing job. I had doubted it could be cleaned ( I have 4 senior cats) Plus coffee and who know what else had spilled on the stairs. Fernando and Isaiah made them look new, plus they left the carpet nearly dry. I will not use Stanley Steamer again. We needed our carpet cleaned as it has been several years since it had been done last. We spend several hours moving furniture and other items out of the way so the carpet cleaners would have less to move. When the crew arrived they upsold me which was okay I just expected my moneys worth, which I didn't get. Their ad says they move furniture but with the exception of a couple of chairs they didn't move anything. The carpets look much better than before but my problem was moving the furniture (I offered to help) and they didn't clean inside the closets (Everything on the floor of the closets was taken out). read more

The team came out and cleaned my sectional couch, and while it looked pretty clean while wet, it dried and remained a little dingy in some spots. I called to request they come out a second time, and without hesitation, the gentlemen on the phone arranged a second cleaning - free of charge- with enthusiasm and genuinely was interested in my satisfaction. Hands down the driest and cleanest my carpets have ever been. I will never use any one else. They go over the carpet basically 6-10 times or more with deep cleaning steam, and continue going over with high suction truck mounted suction to get the carpets amazingly dry for steam cleaning. Their competitors do less than than half the work and leave carpets wetter regardless of their claims. I know, I've been getting my carpets cleaned every 6 months for about 15 years using national chains, regional chains, and local family owned operations but had never used Stanley until this year. But you get what you pay for, they can be up to 50% more, but no one else has national allergy rating either. The bad: Stanley Steamers will on both uses has basically refused to honor advertised specials. Internet ads, saying need paper coupon, or not valid in California. Recent ad, it's expired. Oh discounts don't apply in California etc..... still happy with service, and willing to pay full price for what I get. But if Stanley Steamer managers are reading this, you are opening yourself up big time to bait and switch type issues. Home owners/renters, the price they quote in the phone is the price, do yourself a favor and don't expect your coupon or knowledge of a ad from any source to be honored. The Good: your carpets will never be cleaned so thoroughly, will not be left wet, and will quickly dry. Worth every penny of full price. Stanley cleaned the carpets of the house to which we're about to move. The people who lived in this house before us paid for that job. I contacted Stanley because the carpets are still stained. The Stanley representative told me that they would perform free corrective work if contacted within 10 days of the initial job. We are now past a month after the initial job. He offered me partial rework at a discount and possibly free rework if his management would agree to that. I understand and accept the policy. I mentioned that the stains were consistent with furniture (they're rectangular) and not consistent with foot traffic that would have occurred after the cleaning. The house has not been re-furnished yet. This triggered a turn for the worst in our discussion. When one would expect a business to consider they may not have performed as well as expected, I was faced with one suspicion of wrong-doing after another. I was basically told repeatedly that it was likely somebody else's fault / deception. I do not recommend this business. Below are more details on the discussion. 1. The representative told me that he didn't mean to say that I was a liar but that there are people out there that will lie to him and that he had to be suspicious. 2. When I mentioned the fact that a sliding door had been left open after Stanley was done with the job (to facilitate the drying of the carpet), the representative took this as an opportunity to demonstrate that somebody could have entered the house through that door and dirtied the carpets. (The sliding door opens to a second-floor balcony. So I expressed doubts about that.) 3. He then implied that past occupants could have come back to the house and dirtied the carpets after the cleaning. I then indicated that they had moved out of town the day before the cleaning. 4. He then expressed suspicion, stating they could have told me so but could still have come back. (I know as a fact that they had left the day before.) This is when I decided I didn't want to deal with this business, even for a discounted or free job. read more

The price was right going in but not worth it coming out. The carpet was cleaner but at what cost?!? The "Tech" arrived, assessed what needed to be done. The he started trying the upsell of Teflon, etc. we declined. So he began cleaning. By the time he announced that he was finished and had his equipment out the front door we noticed problems. The carpet saw soaked with water and all the baseboards were marked by the "Wand". I went out and asked why the carpet was so wet and the baseboards were marred. He said "...that is normal." The carpet took 4 days to dry (no there was no rain) with doors open and fans on to try to remove the water. The baseboard appear to have aluminum transferred to them from the wand. No we don't want a call back or anything from SS. Just want the next guy to know what we went through and they might encounter as well! And BTW, the carpet got dirty quickly because of the water/soap left in the carpet. read more
