Bee Right There Heating & Air were responsive and did a great job! Would use again :-)

Scam. Dont trust them. My AC broke and my usual HVAC guy couldn't come out same day, so I thought I'd give Bee Right There a shot. They quoted me $3000 for a basic job on an almost brand new system. I smelled a rat, so sent them packing. A few days later my usual HVAC guy fixed the problem in under an hour for $750. Steer clear unless you like throwing your money away. Update 8/10: Michael, thanks for your comment. To clarify, your technician offered me two options - recharge the unit for $2000 or fix the leak and recharge for $3000. The HVAC company that quoted me $750 fixed the leak and recharged the system. I just received the invoice today for that work and it had been adjusted down to $675 because they didn't use as much refrigerant as expected. If there's something I'm missing about your $3000 quote that justifies a 4X multiple, please let me know. read more

I used them to try and fix my furance in January, they got it running for a couple weeks and I signed up for the maintenance plan. I then worked with the estimator on a new system, but it was higher than another esimtate. So I replaced the HVAC using another company. So then I asked them to cancel the maintenance plan on the phone, they requested an email requesting the cancel in writing which I did. One month later they charged me again for the plan. I'm working with the credit card company now to dispute it, since I told them over the phone and also in an email to cancel the plan. Note I also had one issue with the estimator showing up several hours late because of another appointment they were tied up on and the office didn't call me to update me. I had to call them to find out. I don't blame the estimator, but the office should have called and updated me. There office seems disorganized, since they didn't cancel the plan and also didn't notify me about the estimator being late on one appointment. I probably won't use them again. As to the response below, Mike H isn't my full last name, its my last initial. Anyway, I sent an email to dispatch@callthebee.com, which is what your office staff told me to do on June 1st when I requested cancellation. In addition, why do you require it in writing? I spoke to your office at 805-864-2276 and requested cancellation verbally as well, they are the ones that told me to send the email. read more

The actual work performed was solid, and I have no complaints about the quality. However, my experience with the office was frustrating. After paying well into the five figures for a new HVAC unit, they followed up multiple times claiming small remaining balances. I'm not sure how there was even a second outstanding amount, since they were the ones who reported the total to the lender. Today, they called, texted, and emailed me repeatedly within a single hour to collect. Overall, the experience left me feeling nickel-and-dimed and unnecessarily harassed. read more

I own a home and while working out of the area we are renting it out. The AC went out on a classic 98+ day in Paso Robles for our tenants. BEE RIGHT THERE was the only company willing to address the problem on a Saturday. From the call center to a manager and the field tech -- ALL OF THE COMMUNICATION was spot on. They worked around the tenants work schedule, got the problem diagnosed and fixed immediately. Scott the field tech was fantastic. Although I was given a window of 12-5 for the service, and it was narrowed down to most likely between 1-2 o'clock, I waited until I was convinced the service was going to have to be another day. The serviceman finally called at 4:20 to tell me he was on his way and would be here in about 40 minutes. I was ready to cancel and rebook but decided to get it over with. Shawn was a very nice gentleman and was thoughtful about wearing shoe covers and using a carpet under his ladder on my carpets. He had to do the dirty work of getting under my house when it was getting dark but got the service done so that I can rely that my heaters (2 systems) will be in good working order for the winter season. This is a company that knows their stuff and provides excellent customer service. I have a very old heating system so they sent out a senior technician who is familiar with my system. He arrived on time, was able to troubleshoot my problem very quickly and resolved it quickly and the price was very fair. Told the office I needed a bid for duct work and a bathroom fan replacement. They told me to pay the $85 and the tech would come out for an inspection and then do a bid for the work after which they would not charge the $85 service visit. When the tech was here, he continuously told me "I'm not the guy that does that work, but I'll forward this too him." Why would you even send a tech if they don't know how to do or bid the job? He also tried to sell me an annual maintenance plan. 3 weeks I waited for a bid, zero contact from them besides replying to my followup requests. Lastly I was told that it would be sent straight to the service manager and I would get a call between 10-11am tomorrow! It's been well over 48 hours with no call. This company sucks. Why would you sell a maintenance plan if you can't even give me a bid for actual work or call me back? Take your business elsewhere. Update: Owner reached out to try and make it right. To his credit he does genuinely care. However, the damage had already been done and I decided to use a different company that was much more responsive out the gate. read more

Update: this company deserves a lot of credit. The owner called me as soon as he saw this review. Their senior technician came out and properly diagnosed the issue. He fixed it and they initially charged me full price for the fix, but then they refunded the price of the fix, which covered my cost of the original misdiagnosis. Also, the employee who misdiagnosed the issue originally is no longer with the company. Mike, the owner: great guy, professional, cares about his reputation. Daniel, senior tech: great guy, professional, cares about his work and customers. Breanna, receptionist/office manager?: professional, kind, understanding, A+ customer service. They took a bad situation and turned it around. They have a customer for life now. Original review: I called Bee Right There a few weeks ago to fix my heating unit. Tech showed up, told me it was the circuit board. He told me where to buy one and which one to buy. I swapped it out myself and it saved me a ton of money. Cool, right? Well that didn't fix the issue. The same tech came back out and replaced the gas valve. The issue persists. The heater cuts out before it gets to temp. I've attempted to contact the same tech 3 times now and I guess I have been ghosted. I'm $300 into fixing the heater and it is not fixed. I guess I need to call another company with more experience or knowledge. It would have been nice if I didn't spend $300 on unnecessary parts, only to still have a broken heater. 0 out of 5 stars. I contacted Bee Right There Heating & Air on Mother's Day, via Yelp. I did not expect a reply right away, but I heard from the owner about 10 minutes later via the app. He assured me someone from the office would reach out to me on Monday morning, and get someone out to us as well. Sure enough I heard from the office staff who scheduled us for 1-5pm Monday. Daniel showed up, was professional, and knowledgeable, and was able to get us a new fan motor, and fix what was needed to get our AC back online. We will definitely be using them in the future! The cost was reasonable, and we are so glad the AC is up and running before the hot summer temps. read more

After checking yelp reviews we called this morning for service in our AC unit at home. It was about 105 Sunday afternoon and the AC started blowing just air. No cold. Mixed review, this review is for the charge only. Our tech was nice and even earlier than he said. Our AC went out on a Friday during the heatwave, me and my husband don't know much about fixing the ac unit but we did try everything we could think of so we roasted the whole weekend. The ac fan was flowing fine but not blowing out any cold air. The company did schedule us for a Monday so we were excited, even though now the heatwave was over. Turns out it was a quick 10 min fix, the capacitor went out. We were charged $410 for a quick 10 min fix. The pieces are on Amazon's and the most expensive piece iv found was $45. I think they knew we had no idea what it was we were looking at, once he told me what was wrong with it, I looked at the info on the label and googled it, it's a $14 piece and super super easy to fix. We do most of the upgrades on our own house so we do have the tools and the knowledge to have fixed it. Extremely disappointed in how much they charge ppl. read more

Called and inquired about an appointment which they were able to offer the next afternoon. The next morning they called and asked if they could first thing at 9am. Of course!! First gold star. Tech came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable. After listening to me ramble on about the past techs and what they thought, he says yeah I think it's this other thing. 5 minutes of testing and he was correct! Swapped out the part for one he had stocked on the van. Did some additional testing and we were good to go within an hour or two. After 3 weeks of broken AC and two other companies going MIA on me, a quick accurate fix was definitely appreciated. Fantastic job. I will recommend to all. We are selling our house and they came out to do one last "maintenance check" and the guy said oh you have a capacitor out of alignment and one other thing and it will be 700 dollars. First of all are you kidding me? Trying to take advantage of us when we are just trying to move and already dressed!? THEN we say no it works perfectly nothing has ever been wrong with it in the years we have lived here so we will pass on that charge. He goes down stairs to "collect his tools" and comes back up the stairs and says " oh man you will never guess , the whole unit just broke and shut down. I will have to fix that now what a bummer sorry about that". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? So since we would t pay the crazy 700 bogus charge he goes and breaks the thing and says now we have to pay him to fix it!??? My poor wife says oh maybe it was just a coincidence. I said to the guy you know how full of sh%t you sound right!? And he said oh yea I do know but I promise I didn't do anything to it to make it go out. I was just doing the maintenance check and then all of a sudden it went out. So I told him to get his tools and get out of our house trying to scam us like that! So now we have a broken heater in the cold of winter and are being strong armed into paying them to fix it or just have a broken unit in our home we are trying to sell. He said to my wife as he was leaving that he could give us a "50%" discount but that's the best he could do. Dude what!? Fix it for free since you intentionally broke it to get us to pay up when we are in between a rock and a hard place. Talk about using and abusing your customers! Please believe this will also be going to Better Business Bureau. I tried to call the office but he has the phones directly routed to his cell phone. Sneaky sneaky sneaky all the way around. UPDATE: The owner of Bee Right There called me personally and apologized for the whole deal and is splitting the cost of the other guy's repair with us. i am so grateful to have found Bee Right There Heating & Air! I have lived on the Centeal Coast for close to 25 years and whenever I needed any kind of heating/air service, it was a challenge from getting any one to return my calls to bring overcharged, etc. Even though my property is in Arroyo Grande, out of desperation, I contacted Bee Right There in Atascadero a couple of weeks ago when we had an urgent heating issue (gas leak) expecting the same no service response. instead, Emily responded quickly, sent Chris their technician out the next day. Chris not only immediate fixed the problem but clearly communicated the issues and what he recommended going forward. I was so pleased I set up another service appointment on another unit I needed checked and, again, everything was handled efficiently and professionally. Chris was on time, so sweet, patiently answered every question and he LOVES Dogs! Since I have a Dog Camp - that is a huge plus. it is so refreshing to encounter a service that truly cares about their customer! read more

Don't waste your time! They have 4 hour arrival windows and don't show up! They cancelled on me twice. The first time a technician called in sick. Thankfully, someone called to let me know. The second time I waited around from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. I finally called at 2:00 PM to see if they were coming. I got what sounded like a call center who said they would have someone call me back. Another 30 minutes went by and I got a call saying they weren't going to make it. Totally unprofessional and inconsiderate of people's time. read more

Christopher just left my house after getting my heater to work again. I realized first thing this morning that I did not have heat and called this company even before business hours and left a message (I had work done by them in the past when the company was Air Left). Kim called me as soon as the office opened and let me know that someone could come out today. That in itself was amazing and through the day, Kim kept me updated about the ETA of when the repairman would be arriving. Christopher is young but has been in the biz for something like 10 years and seems to know what he's doing. He found the problem and was able to fix it and now I have heat again!
