We reserved the afternoon- noon-5 as they were not sure exactly what time they would arrive. I was quoted $230 for vent and duct cleaning for 8 vents. I received a call at about 2 that their team were about an hour away but were having equipment failure issues and would 4 be too late. I let them know 4 would be fine. After an hour I received another call that the job was taking longer than expected and could they please come first thing the next morning. We moved our cars to accommodate their truck both days. They arrived at about 8 the next morning and immediately announced they could not clean the vents because we have soft ducts (I assume that means they are flexible). We were offered an option to spray a material that would coat and seal the microbes in place (ick) at an estimated cost of$4400!!! We said no thank you. I received an estimate later that broke down the costs and guess what was in that estimate? The original $230 to clean that they told us they could not do!!! Needless to say I am not happy! We will clean the ducts on our own with a soft brush and shop vac. We learned a lesson from this. To give credit, the updates were provided frequently, our neighbors who have the same exact configuration had a much better experience at 1/3 the cost and they had recommended them to begin with. I understand that equipment failures happen. I understand that an estimate is just that but to be off by over $4,000 is insane!!! read more

6/10/2025.Today Stanley cleaned our air vents and dryer vent. They seemed professional. No complaints on the air vent cleaning however the dryer vent a different story. Not only did they not hook up the vent to the dryer when they were done the tecnician, Luxene lied and said not only did he hook the vent back up to the dryer but he put on additional tape to secure it. When I checked after he left he had not done either. Also, his ladder was muddy and he left mud on our carpet. Very disapointing. On 1/20/19 was a very positive experience for me in getting Stanley Steemer to clean my beloved recliner to my expectation. However, Quin ( Stanley Steemer) technician far exceeded my expectations. He was very respectful and acknowledged my offer of water before he began cleaning the furniture by himself. He would not stop and for approximately 2 hours and forty five minutes he focused on cleaning the furniture and doing an excellent job. Upon praising his workmanship, he accepted the bottle of water. No way will I ever call Stanley Steemer again. I had dryer duct cleaning the crew was here abought 15 minutes and out of there. My wife tried to dry the wash that day it took 2 hours more than normal? I moved the dryer took off the hose and it was packed with lint. All Stanley Steemer did was go up on the roof and push every thing down and packed the lint to the bottom. Don't believe the tv commercial with the big bags on the truck, from a giant vacuum cleaner on the truck they did not have that unit I filled a 5 gallon bucket from home depo with lint just by putting my hand up the pipe. A friend bought a condo that had been foreclosed and left abandoned for over a year. She called Stanley Steemer to clean the ceramic tiles and grout on the main floor, which were very dirty. After they cleaned the tiles and grout, the main floor looked amazing. I decided to have my ceramic floors cleaned and on her recommendation I called Stanley Steemer. The two gentlemen arrived at 10:15AM and were out the door at 11:45. The areas to be cleaned were two short hallways, a den, a living room, a kitchen with dining area, and a bonus room, for a total of approximately 900 square feet. The cost for cleaning (no extras) was $485.00. The gentlemen spent approximately 20 minutes inspecting the floors and setting up and 15 minutes cleaning up, and spent a total of 1 hour actually cleaning the floors. Anyone who has ever cleaned ceramic tiles knows that it takes much longer to do a decent job. The tiles look no different than when I clean them with a damp mop, and grout lines look as disgusting as they did before the "professional" cleaning. I was charged $485 for one hour of floor washing and there is no noticeable difference. The technician told me that they could seal the grout which would make them cleaner - and cost another $300. When I expressed my unhappiness with the results and the fact that they spent virtually no time cleaning the grout lines I was told that it was the best they could do. Needless to say, Stanley Steemer will get no further recommendations from either me or the person who recommended them to me. read more

John, what the heck were your guys thinking? I just inspected the house at 807 SW Saint Andrews Cove. Stanley Steemer made more of a mess out of our house. You guys were terrific with showing up within the hour to suck up the water. I wish I could have stopped you there! I wish I didn't use your demo crew to rip out the sheet rock and wood molding's. What a BIG MISTAKE! My tenants things (clothes, furniture, tv) are all ruined not from the flood but from the demolition!. Everything is covered with sheet rock dust. The entire house is covered like an explosion in a baby powder factory. I would think a company specializing in "emergency clean up" would have taken better precautionary measures. Why didn't you move items or use a few drop cloth's? I assumed that it would be customary for a carpet & upholstery clean up company to know how to handle these matters when dealing a flood emergency. There was no line snapped to cut the sheet rock demo. The doorway molding we're broken off. The sheet rock line was cut like an 8 year old with a box cutter. This is now costing us more to repair and replace. The sheet rock line was cut above the wall sockets which was unnecessary. There is dust on the furniture and inside of the new flat panel TV. I can see why you were pushing me to use your contractor and telling me we are getting everything new at the insurance companies expense. You set it up for the contractor. Five different contractors were called in and gave the SAME EXACT OPINION, "The home was damaged unnecessarily by unprofessional's who have never been to a flood emergency before or else it was done deliberately." I am NOT signing any completion form from Stanley Steemer to submit to my insurance company until we are reimbursed. As a matter of fact, I am putting the Insurance company on notice and I am also demanding reimbursement for the cleaning crew for my tenants belongings and half the costs to repair the damage. To tell me and my tenant with her 3 toddlers that "The house was safe to move back into" was ludicrous and reprehensible. There are sharp pieces of metal and exposed electric wires all over the place! You also told me that she had an air mattress on the floor which was untrue. You put her furniture up on blocks but not her mattress? Come on... If we are not reimbursed, I will be re-printing this email letter on the internet where I found your number originally. In addition I will be forwarding this email letter to Stanley Steamer Corporate. I have retained an attorney (Nicholas T. Steffens) to move forward if we are unable to resolve this matter this week. I originally called Stanley Steamer because I have used them before for carpet cleaning and they are a local company. They are also a big National corporation where I didn't imagine I would experience this kind of service or damage. I should have called Serve Pro where there logo is "like it never even happened." Stanley Steemer should be "Called Stanley Steemer? you'll wish that never happened." Needless to say, this is a one month setback and loss of a rental for both me and our tenant. I hope that we can resolve this matter amicably before going to court or before this becomes an internet "train-wreck" for Stanley Steemer. You charged our insurance company $4100 to suck up water and tear out 2' strip of sheet rock. we received a check from the contractors for almost the same amount to put everything back together including the material. I had my ceramic tile/grout steam cleaned & the grout sealed by Mike and Saydat. I was very satisfied with the entire procedure. The men were prompt, very helpful and did a very good job on tile that hadn't been cleaned in 8 years! They moved all of the furniture to get into every nook & cranny. They also gave me maintenance tips. The reason why I gave this 3 stars is because some of the grout in the kitchen was not completely cleaned. They did say that after 8 years of dirt that they wouldn't be able to get it 100% new. Also, the price I paid for the cleaning is in line with what other companies are charging. But, I feel that the price for the grout sealing is too much. I am going to do it myself next year. Since the sealant was only applied last month, I don't know yet how long the sealant will last. Hopefully, their recommendation to clean with a neutral cleaner will help. read more

I noticed a Stanley steamer truck in my neighborhood and asked if they could do my place also. My mom had a coupon (not that they were too happy about that), which I used. They did my place as they were not booked after the appt they were on which was great timing as my tenant just left. The bad part was.... they showed me stains they said wouldn't come out. They said they went over them 3 times and it was as good as it was going to come out. I was not mad and assumed it was just a bad stain. I sprayed some dollar store carpet cleaner on the stains and it came right up. Then I sprain my traffic areas with a lot of soiled area and that was much better. I called the franchise... and yes I think these are all franchises, but not sure.... and I couldn't get hold of the owner. They basically just blew me off. Michael and Obner did a thorough job cleaning our dingy bedroom hallway carpeting. Then they Scotchguarded it. Today the carpet looks so much better that we are thrilled with the service. They were quick and efficient. At times Michael talked too quickly during his spiel about the welcome mat for us to understand what he was saying, but we got the gist and bought one--we love that we can get a new one whenever needed just by calling Stanley Steemer wherever we are. We don't care that it looks industrial as long as it gets the dirt and grime off of people's shoes before they enter our home. Next up: we're going to get our white chenille couch cleaned next year by these guys for sure, and get that Scotchguarded as well. read more

Not a great way to clean your carpets. The staff is courteous and they do their best, however the process is not the best. My stairs were too saturated with water, and I had "brown out". They came back to try to straighten this out, but the smell took a long time to go away and it still was not resolved. Also, over time using this typical method of rug cleaning, my carpets look matted down and they got soiled much more quickly. Recently I use a company called Flortech which uses the Bane-Clen Way and it's terrific! No brownout, and totally clean carpets! read more

I recently called up their number on a Saturday based on an ad for carpet cleaning of 2 rooms and a hall for $99. They scheduled an appt. for Monday sometime between 3pm and 6pm . I then noted some of the reviews of Stanley Steamer (nationally and also for this franchisee) and they seemed to be all over the place; some were excellent and some were very critical so I was wondering whether I should cancel. The carpets really needed a cleaning badly so I decided that if I didn't do it now, I'd probably just keep putting it off. They called about 45 minutes before 3pm and said they were coming over and showed up about a half hour early. I felt this was good since they probably wouldn't rush the job just to get to their next appt. on time. I also moved a lot of the furniture/items onto the porch or into another room (that I wasn't going to get cleaned). I then vacuumed the carpet beforehand to make it easier for them when they arrived to just concentrate on the cleaning. The two guys showed up, were very polite and asked about the cause of the dirt/stains in the carpet. They then said it would, as the ad stated, be $99, and I signed some electronic form on a tablet. This was a positive sign as some reviews I read stated that the charges were increased due to some silly reason. I made sure to tip each of them well, and importantly, BEFOREHAND, as some reviews indicated that the cleaners rushed thru the job or didn't really seem to put their best effort into the job. Well, these two guys really worked hard at getting the carpet clean going over the tougher spots until they were pretty darn clean and went the "extra mile" to make me happy. Some of the dirt/stains were there for a long time and "ground in" over time and I'd say they got about 95% of those areas completely clean. I'll gladly take that percentage and you would too if you saw the carpet before it was cleaned! They finished in about 45 minutes and said to try to not put things back for about 8 hours so the carpet can dry thoroughly. The last thing you want is mildew because you couldn't wait a few hours for it to dry completely. They also suggested to put any cooling fans I might have on and the A/C to 75 degrees or lower to help the carpet dry more quickly. My final thoughts--The carpet looks SO MUCH cleaner and I'm really glad that I finally just "pulled the trigger" and called someone in as I had previously thought long and hard about doing it myself. Unfortunately, I just kept "putting it off" and never got around to it. I think partly because I really didn't look forward to lugging a machine up and down the steps, and additionally, I wondered whether any machine I rented would do as good a job as a commercial machine-maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't-I still don't know, but my back "thinks" the money was well spent and it's one less thing that I have nagging me. read more

It is 10:14 am on Saturday, 2/18/17. The cleaners arrived at approximately 9:30 am. These people are terrible. How do you clean 3 rooms in 20 minutes? They didn't take the time to move my sofas and tables and I had to argue with them to do it. The guys took one quick run over the carpets and there is no difference from before they got here. I am going to file a complaint with the Stanley Steamer corporate offices. They are the worst and I wasted 135 dollars for 3 rooms that have furniture. Waste of my time and money. I will never use them again. I am probably going to have to call another company to redo them. They also kept trying to sell me stuff that I didn't want after communicating to them I didn't want any other services. DO NOT USE!!!! On July 12, 2014 I called at 9:30am for water extraction. I was told someone would be at the house within the hour. Three hours, four phone calls later - still not here. Unbeknownst to me, I was dealing with a "call center" thus the run around. Finally a "manager" called me back - apparently the "call center" lied to him and stated that I had only called a half hour or so before!!!! Needless to say I have called a different company! I had used this particular Stanley Steamer franchise the year prior with great success. I called and easily made an appointment and Michael L called prior to the scheduled appointment time and was very courteous. They came on time. Both Michael L and Obner B were polite, but the quality of the work was not there. They splashed water everywhere, dropped a bucket of water which splashed up on my hand painted walls and door and only partially cleaned it up. It took over 24hours with the AC running to dry out the carpet! I don't know if the machines are old or what. Both seemed very rushed. I think they were overbooked and it showed in the lack of care and their stress level. I was so displeased, I did not give either a tip. The carpets came out clean and I purchased the companys spot treatment product. I've yet to use that. They tried to sell me a really ugly outdoor mat for my balcony! read more

Apparently, the size of the room doesn't matter ... a room counts as a room period. If there was a rating less than one star this would be it. They were called on a Friday afternoon at 2:48 to clean up water from a broken pipe in kitchen. They sent two guys and a truck to extract the water. Removed and cleaned a very large area rug. Took a little over an hour and the total charge was $3000.00. Spoke with manager John who came by our home after I requested a break down of our charges three times. If you are standing in a flood in your home and call Stanley Steemer, be sure to ask about the "Taking Advantage Of Customers In Need Special Offer." They charged us $1200.00 to remove and clean our area rug. They returned it with dirt and debris including dead bugs in it. When I told John this was unacceptable condition for a rug that was just cleaned. He told me it just needed to be vacuumed. They charged $113.00 for an emergency service call in the middle of a Friday afternoon. They charge every time they touch a piece of furniture. They charged $40.00 to move a small top loading washer less than 10" from wall so that they can get a hose behind it. Foam blocks used to put your furniture on $5.00 each. Sliding furniture over to clean under it will cost you about $100.00 for a sofa. These are just a few of the "extras" that they do not disclose until you ask. Their routine is simple. Had to have 4 rooms cleaned and the website had all these claims about pet stains and deodorizing. In the past I've rented the $50 bissel machines from Publix and got spot stains up but because we were moving I decided to have "professionals" do it. I had used SS once before in baltimore and was very pleased with the job done. Not so with these guys. No stains were removed and it looks like they just vacuumed the house with an upright. Plus I had used a regular shop vac to vacuum the house prior to arrival and had disassembled it's filter and washed it in the sink. I left the parts on the counter to dry and when SS left, I was missing parts of my filter. I was very unhappy with the job they had done and complained to John about it. My neighbor came over after he heard what a crappy job they and brought his little carpet cleaner over with some cleaner he had from walmart and proceeded to clean a section of carpet and it was night in day! I'm sure SS used zero chemical or steam to clean the carpets which I had to pay to have replaced. SS in port st lucie stinks.....rent the $50 machine at Publix and do it yourself, You will get much better results. read more
